Great job Jon. I have the original pre-order version from MRC and other than just re-gluing the plastic servo holders in the stab servo boxes I made no other changes. She is still flying today after around 100 flights with the blue box. Great flying model!
Thanks man! Once I gave up trying to get it to fly closer to neutral CG, I discovered just how much more fun it is to fly. FS flaps needs a more nose-heavy CG anyhow to function correctly so I may as well just get used to it.
Haha, thanks Anthony! I generally don't fly in gusty winds but it was the only day that worked for Tony and I. Otherwise it would be sub-par hatcam content, and I'd like to avoid showcasing that if possible.
FYI - I recommend doing 6 deep cycles (down to 3.4 volts per cell) of each new Zeee Battery before using them in an aircraft. Call it a break-in or conditioning period.
I honestly haven't had a good experience with zee packs thought maybe it was just the couple I got. They were fine in my prop planes but not so good in my edfs.
So I'm interested in this fms edf upgrade. When I look up the specs of the fms vs freewing. I see the fms is about 100g less weight (~350g vs ~440g) but the thrust output output of the FMS is 3.5kg vs 4kg of the freewing. So it seems the net gains on the freewing are better? Could this be the difference in the way they spec their thrust numbers and its not really standardized kinda like the "c" ratings on lipos?
I’ve actually hit myself with a small P-51 mustang on its maiden. The right wingtip clipped my left temple. Fortunately the prop didn’t hit me, that would’ve been bad! Fortunately there was only a few wrinkles in the wing.
Salve nice flight, I arrived on the 18th, can you tell me if the CG and the aileron and elevator ranges are exactly what is written in the explanations? Thank you
Do you think it’s faster with the FiftyTwoEighty Blue Flame 🔥 Afterburner, I know for a fact it raises the cool factor exponentially. Great Flying Ace…!
Jon, you mentioned a couple times that you put in the 1950kv motor and 130a esc, but did you change the fan or use the stock one? The FMS and Motion RC fans are both 12 blade, so I dont know if there are any differences between them. Blade pitch or mounting differences?
It used the entire FMS 1950kv motor assembly, including the fan it ships with and the duct. Though these days you're better off using the new 1960kv Freewing motor. It's a substantial improvement over the old 90mm motors FW used to sell.
nice flying man. I have the same motor / esc setup, what do you have set for your esc startup? soft or normal? mine is set for soft but it feels there's a delay to throttle up
@@TwoBrosRC thank you, if you don't mind me asking you another question , I would like to know on that esc whta timming do you select and there's the throttle lead and an aux bec lead , do you plug both in the receiver ? cause on the viper they are both plugged in . but on the f-18 I'm not sure what do to.

Big like 👍 and thumbs up 👍. Thanks 🙏 for sharing Captain 🧑✈️ Jon without the H.
Also thanks to your camera man for zooooming👍👍,not everyone is doing that
It's important so you can actually see what the jet is doing. Thanks man!

Nice, inspiring flying and narration. 👍🏻
Great action video, 😃 i like how it looks in the cloudy sky, it looks real👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! That tail slide/ flat spin combo was beautiful man! Awesome flying and great camera work guys
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed!
Thankyou jon for sharing your videos with us👍,amaizing as always
thank you Jon, very cool
Bad ass setup guys
I have many Zeee 4S 60C & 6S 100C Batteries and haven't had any problems with them.
Ooof, that was too close. On a super windy day, I stand a couple feet further from where I usually stand (20ft from center line).
Couldn't do that where we're standing, a ditch is directly behind us unfortunately.
Mad respect for flying a foam plane in 20mph winds. I don't dare put any of my planes in the air over 5mph, other than my Conscendo Evolution.

Close one Jon 🙈. But nice flying.
I did that once LOL Nice Jet!!
I think all of us who live on the edge have, at one point, probably done something as stupid as that.

I've never done that - they perform flawlessly in general over a year of using them. Thanks for the advice though!
I honestly haven't had a good experience with zee packs thought maybe it was just the couple I got. They were fine in my prop planes but not so good in my edfs.
Yeah I can understand that. Mine seem to perform OK though. They're mostly what you see me flying.

Set the 1950kv to run 15 timing on the Avian ESC and you'll kick out 4kg like mine.

Oof, wow. I'd rather take a hit from a jet than a prop if I had to choose.

Pretty close to it.

Lol, definitely isn't faster.
@@TwoBrosRC Agreed it raises the Cool Factor…?
Does as3x work on the stabs on the roll axis , since you're running an aileron to elevator mix I assume as3x doesn't know it's a taileron ?
It does, we've set it up that way. Check our maiden flight video which contains the setup guide.

@ thanks for the reply. A few others on some Facebook pages are in agreeance on the newer 1960kv.

Even though this is a 90mm I don't know why the sound sounds less turbine like compared to the 80mm f16 from eflite.
Positioning of the cheater holes, most likely.
attach a Go Pro to it and view the flight after editing.
Been there, done that - it's not something I post much of anymore but I may consider it again.

Oh, nobody I know.
Poor a10
It's OK though. No damage!
