These policies will only drive the cost of homes higher.

I hope I can go but I don't know if I have time cause I'm looking for a place but I really hope there can be some sort of a county wide or statewide cap on charging everybody that applies for a property management's unit to have to do exorbitant application fees, right and left, different companies want the same information for us and they charge us for it... why can't we just bring it to them or have it on file somewhere that they can access ?

Also if they would cap material costs and construction labor costs, it would stop inflationary pressure on building. This would lower housing costs and slow rent increase.

They should cap property taxes, insurance and the costs of all repairmen needed to work on rental units so the landlord does not have to pay higher costs for their properties. This would help a lot.

How ridiculous. Yes, let’s do nothing. The cheapest rents available in a safe area is not doable for hourly workers. With a studio apartment at $1500, one would need to earn $4500 per month to qualify to rent. How do these incentives get these people a roof over their heads?

They should also mandate tenants return home in same condition they receive it thus saving refurbishment costs that landlord has to pass on to next tenant.

Born and raised in Florida. These people coming down have beyond pissed me off. I’ve been looking for 5-10 acres. Everything is insane right now. In the Tampa area too. I’m looking all around.
Here is a idea. Tax people moving here 20% for two years. And use some of that to build housing for Florida’s natives. Make sure they don’t want to try and ruin Florida and bail like they did their states.
