i think we’ve all seen a huge change in taehyung these past 3 years. i’ve never been prouder. it’s like he no longer feels the pressure to pretend, to be bubbly and smiling at all times. he really became so comfortable with himself and i love that for him. this song does not only describe his journey to finding his true self, it shows us that it is absolutely normal people change, as they grow. we mature. in life, many different milestones will come but sometimes other smaller events may determine us too. let’s believe in ourselves. this is not only a letter from taehyung to his younger self, it’s also an encouraging message for army and every human who is struggling with self-image. i truly love it how bts mature and grow along with their fans like this. love you tae, you’re truly an inspiration. and to all the armys out there, hope you will find your galaxy.

Imo this is a message by Taehyung to his younger self. He talks about how much his younger self struggled to reach his dream and that now he's in a better place. "The you of that time didn't believe in the galaxy. But I saw it, silver galaxy." This line says that his younger self almost lost hope but now he sees the beautiful result and that he's full of hope and will that he can achieve things if he works hard enough. Not only is this a message to his younger self but also to us young ARMYs who are struggling to fulfill our dreams. The first time I listened to this song I was 14, I had just gone through the worst two years of my life where I was in a very dark place mentally and self harmed to deal with the pain. I haven't gotten to all the lyrics yet, but so far this is the only one that has brought me to tears. Taehyung has said that he didn't know who he was, in Magic Shop he said "would you believe me if I said that I was scared of everything too?", and you can tell he's been trying to find himself - and I think it's so beautiful and inspiring that he is now comfortable enough with himself that he is able to look back at his younger self, the one that was innocent and smiling, but not so sure about the future, and say that everything would be okay and that one day, those smiles would be so much more deep and genuine.

You know, Taehyung is an unusual guy. He thinks outside the box, off the beaten path, etc. And he’s hugely successful and rich and hot now so it kind of doesn’t matter if people think he’s weird, but when you’re a little kid you don’t have any of that. All you know is you’re a weird kid and you’re not normal and it’s not good. I feel really touched by this because, in a way, Taehyung has always reminded me of my younger self. My “inner child,” if you will. :) I was a weird kid, but there’s nothing wrong with that. There was never anything wrong with me. I just kinda needed to grow into my weirdness. I gained maturity but I didn’t become normal, just different. So this is a love letter to Taehyung’s younger self, telling him that’s it’s going to be okay.

i think taehyung hasnt changed i just think he grew. its still the same person but with more growth. in 2013-2016 he was seen as very bubbly loud n ‘alien like’ but in reality he was just hiding his true self behind his smiles. the taehyung we know now was who he was trying to find in all this time n he hid it behind smiles n laughter but now he isnt afraid to show his true emotions n he doesnt feel the same pressure from before to always smile.

I cry everytime i listen to this song. I can't even think of my childhood as anything but painful. In fact i don't remember much of it, all i can remember are the worst memories. Even now as an adult, i still feel like a child. A child who desperately wants to have a better life and make up for everything that i've been missing. If I could, I’d sing this to my younger self. I was bullied and saw no way out. I was depressed and alone. I was too afraid to tell anyone what was happening. I didn’t tell my parents because they were working so hard to put me in this school and I didn’t want them worried. When I was a sophomore in high school, it got so bad that I didn’t talk to anyone, wore a hood over my head, and didn’t eat at lunch. Eventually, my parents found out and took me out immediately and got me help. I am now in a new school and have tons of friends and love it there. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self “you’re gonna make it. It’ll all work out I promise. i've seen how tae changed from 2013 up to now. he used to be this goofy, cheerful & always on the go person. but as time went by, he started being quiet & reserved. he has also grown more serious & mature. but every now & then, we can still get a glimpse of the inner child in him.

recently, i have gotten to really listen to this song in a deeper way. And it's been my favorite ever since. The lyrics and everything, the way tae talks and speaks to the younger self of himself. This song takes me back to when i was getting adopted with my brother and how scared i was. i had no idea where i was going or what was gonna happen. I used to cry because i missed my birth family but growing up i had so much fun i was an outgoing girl who was not shy at all. I wish i could go back in time to tell myself how hard life gets but tell her not to get scared of growing up there is ups and downs but you can overcome them. I would give her the biggest hug and tell her to stay who she is. She still is in me that young outgoing girl this song brings back all the memories of me when i was younger and how happy i used to be. I'm not a bts fan or not a kpop fan but I saw this on my tl since everybody and their sister was sharing it these days. So naturally my curiosity found its way here since the guy was in fact REALLY handsome. To say I cried after seeing these lyrics would be an understatement. I sobbed. I had no idea that there was a song that hit home so so close to ur heart when its not even in English...like damn... I have no words. We he says 'we gon' change' I really cried so much. Safe to say, I really get why everybody loves bts now. Consider me a new addition to the fam.

I know this is going to sound weird but when Taehyung says “We gon’ change” it seems to me that he’s telling his younger self that’s he’s going to change. "The you of that time didn't believe in the galaxy. But I saw it, silver galaxy." This line says that his younger self almost lost hope but now he sees the beautiful result and that he's full of hope and will that he can achieve things if he works hard enough. Not only is this a message to his younger self but also to us young ARMYs who are struggling to fulfill our dreams. He telling us that our lives will change when we grow up and that it will all be better.

He grew up in a poor family and BTS went through many struggles as a group during their early days. In addition, V's beloved grandmother, who raised him as a child, sadly passed away in 2016 while BTS was away in the Philippines, right before the release of the "Wings" album (a major turning point in BTS's career). Because of this, he didn't have much time to properly grieve and be with his family due to their busy promotion schedule. Two years later, in 2018, his grandfather sadly passed away as well.
So the term "inner child" refers to the young V who went through many struggles but kept persevering to overcome them and achieve his dreams. However, he still goes through struggles today (as all artists do), so the "inner child" who went through struggles in the past is still within him, but he has grown and become stronger from these experiences (hence the lyrics "we gon' change")

Taehyung has said that he didn't know who he was, in Magic Shop he said "would you believe me if I said that I was scared of everything too?", and you can tell he's been trying to find himself - and I think it's so beautiful and inspiring that he is now comfortable enough with himself that he is able to look back at his younger self, the one that was innocent and smiling, but not so sure about the future, and say that everything would be okay and that one day, those smiles would be so much more deep and genuine.

You know, Taehyung is an unusual guy. He thinks outside the box, off the beaten path, etc. And he’s hugely successful and rich and hot now so it kind of doesn’t matter if people think he’s weird, but when you’re a little kid you don’t have any of that. All you know is you’re a weird kid and you’re not normal and it’s not good.
I feel really touched by this because, in a way, Taehyung has always reminded me of my younger self. My “inner child,” if you will. :) I was a weird kid, but there’s nothing wrong with that. There was never anything wrong with me. I just kinda needed to grow into my weirdness. I gained maturity but I didn’t become normal, just different.

i think taehyung hasnt changed i just think he grew. its still the same person but with more growth. in 2013-2016 he was seen as very bubbly loud n ‘alien like’ but in reality he was just hiding his true self behind his smiles. the taehyung we know now was who he was trying to find in all this time n he hid it behind smiles n laughter but now he isnt afraid to show his true emotions n he doesnt feel the same pressure from before to always smile.

I think opposite, with growth comes experience. Recently it has seem like he has been struggling more than anything and many others think the same. Yeah, he may be content where he is in life right now but that doesn’t mean his mental state is the same. What we see isn’t always correct, with showing true emotions a lot can still Be hidden. His life isn’t going to get anymore easier from when he was younger.

If I could, I’d sing this to my younger self. I was bullied and saw no way out. I was depressed and alone. I was too afraid to tell anyone what was happening. I didn’t tell my parents because they were working so hard to put me in this school and I didn’t want them worried. When I was a sophomore in high school, it got so bad that I didn’t talk to anyone, wore a hood over my head, and didn’t eat at lunch. Eventually, my parents found out and took me out immediately and got me help. I am now in a new school and have tons of friends and love it there. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self “you’re gonna make it. It’ll all work out I promise. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” Thank you Taehyung for this beautiful song. ♥️

recently, i have gotten to really listen to this song in a deeper way. And it's been my favorite ever since. The lyrics and everything, the way tae talks and speaks to the younger self of himself. Especially the part where it goes " you're My boy", maybe calling his younger self my boy, i just think that it's so cute. Growing up, you might remember those past memories as cringe or negative but tae talks it in the most poetic way as if hes comforting his younger self. And tae's voice plus this song is chef kiss. He never misses!
This song takes me back to when i was getting adopted with my brother and how scared i was. i had no idea where i was going or what was gonna happen. I used to cry because i missed my birth family but growing up i had so much fun i was an outgoing girl who was not shy at all.
I wish i could go back in time to tell myself how hard life gets but tell her not to get scared of growing up there is ups and downs but you can overcome them. I would give her the biggest hug and tell her to stay who she is.
She still is in me that young outgoing girl this song brings back all the memories of me when i was younger and how happy i used to be. I hope she stays my inner child for the rest of my life no matter what i do.
