- On today’s episode Erika is joined by Barstool Sports content creator and comedian, Francis Ellis. Francis was the winner of the first season of Barstool Idol in 2016 and continued to work for Barstool for 3 years. In 2019 he was fired for a blog that he wrote. Francis continued to do comedy, host a podcast and any job he could find after he lost his job at Barstool. This past year Dave brought him back to the company and he currently hosts Oops The Podcast with Giulio Gallarotti. Francis and Erika discuss getting caught on a hot mic, the best talent at Barstool Sports, learning from your mistakes and much more. Enjoy!

Francis is such a prolific speaker which makes him one of my favorites at barstool. Not only is he genuinely smart but he’s funny.
I don’t know if Erica will read this comment but I so thoroughly enjoyed this show featuring Francis that I have a suggestion. Erica and Francis’ witty, intelligent fresh and candid interaction was incredible… super interesting and also funny too.
I think it would be awesome if Francis joined the show full time with Erica. It’s nice to hear Erica talk by herself but I found this 2-way interaction to be fantastic. Francis could also be in the room during Erica’s interviews with other people and add some of his snappy and original wit as a part time professional comedian.

Francis is one of the best when it comes to content at barstool. I find him far more relatable than anyone else on the content side.

All of Barstool’s best personalities and segments are from their older talent, and they know it. Between Dave, Big Cat, the Yak crew, Rone, Caleb, and Francis it’s clear that barstool is evolving to more mature content

Though we like to tease Francis for being the silver spoon Harvard kid, he never leans in to ego and always seems to be looking for the funny angle. His contribution to barstool is really great and I'm glad he came back. A good CEO knows how to retain good talent -- Erika balances this really well.
