Thanks for covering this! It is great that I have finally been able to update the Firmware to 1.1.1 and use Pandory still! Some teething problems with Auto-Config of control pads being a bit more flakey than the V1 version including poor PS3 pad support (they worked fine on V1) but the Pandory Team are going to check it out! The PSP, MegaCD and DreamCast cores/emulators added are great! Just remember to run the PSP emulator as an application rather than from the game loader pull down!

If the zip file contains bin files they don't work.
If they have a long list of files like b52-18.93 they're ok.
Is there anything I need to change?
    Thanks

Raptor freezes as it starts up for me (DOS).Could be worth adding a keyboard, but just like you I had to force restart.
Tip: Take out your USB stick before fore restarting to protect your USB from corrupting the dol boot file.
Pandory wasn't loading my Atari ST games and PSP was garbled while playing the Mario 64 mod at 15 FPS.
    On the positive side-----
Most of the retro consoles worked flawlessly. I think the Pandory Mod is best for this style of gaming.
It's impressive how Quake is setup to use the Amiga mini gamepad out of the box using DOSBOX!
Gameboy looks super on the big tv. Loving that GB overlay!
C64 was fine, albeit I'd prefer the keyboard overlay set to the side like on the 64 Max and stock Amiga mini. REU support is not there just now.
Pandory is far from perfect, needs tweaking and refining, is not ready out of the box, but it's great for old consoles!
Let's hope future revisions sorts out all the issues letting it down. It has tons of promise for sure. Just needs some TLC.

I got it working now thanks for your replies---- there was a file structure mistake.
I'm not a big fan of retroarch, and i feel the game directory finder could be improved, as you noted in a previous video.
On the positive side, my 3rd party Psx4 styled controller worked straight out of the box, unlike on the c64 maxi.
However, I prefer to use the Amiga mini official gamepad, as i won't be using advanced consoles such as the N64.
I only need basic button layouts for my choice of systems- thats 8 bit and Gameboy, nes, game gear, etc. Very simple systems. Maybe occasional Mdrive running Cave Story which does not require dozens of buttons.
Still need to find out if the c64 can use REU as easily as the c64 maxi does. I need some Sonic 😊
    Cheers 🍔😊

Tried Pandory again tonight to see what issues I could discover and report back on the Pandory successes.
The Sinclair ZX Spectrum folder wasn't found until I switched the core and had to manually search for it. Strangely when I unzipped the Pandory mod, there was no Speccy folder. I had to create it. If it's not named right, the Pandory won't put up a play list. Even then when it loaded, there was no keyboard overlay. So I couldn't press the key for joystick support. My usb keyboard was in storage so this is another oversight in Pandory. It's strange, the C64 does have a keyboard overlay. Dang.
The Amiga emulation under Pandory relies too much on the mouse as the underlying Amiberry is always called up. Actually, the shutdown to menu from the home button wasn't working for me so I had to piss about with the joypad to get it to shutdown by changing the mouse to joypad under the Amiga bonnet, as I didn't have my mouse attached. Oh dear. Another failure.
I suppose we don't need Amiga anyway as we have it on carousel and WHDLoad.
Again, I will repeat myself- there's tons of problems with Pandory, but it's great for retro consoles such as Pc engine, GG, SNES.
There is still hope Luke Skywalker- but you are, are only hope😊

It's me again :) I've looked through Aminimiga, SGS and Pandory now, trying to determine which one runs Amiga games best overall. Do you have a recommendation or personal favourite for the a500 mini? I should add that ease of use is something I value pretty high also

    • @CrazyBurger
      @CrazyBurger  Год назад +1

Ah that is a damn good question.. all of them have good points and bad. Pandory was easiest probably and you can run other formats.. Aminimiga was my favourite at the time and fairly easy to use. Played Amiga stuff pretty well. The 1st version of AGS was a bit sluggish but in theory was set up to play all games optimally. I think there might well be a new version of this too. Paul Vince has been tirelessly updating this practically every week, do probably worth another look.

Theres 2 Amiga cores and some games work and some dont and on the PUAE one some games cant find the kickstart roms even though you can put them in the amiberry folder but they only work through the Team Pandory WHDLoad core i dont know how PUAE works. I ended up copying and pasting kickstarts from the A500mini folder to the retroarch system folder hopefully that should fix the issue with running games through PUAE core since that keeps complaining of missing kickstart roms.
Another weird thing is performance issues for example Aladdin on both cores either runs really slow or still has the odd graphical glitches in the main menu and bizzarley Superfrog, if you play that through PUAE, it shows the animated intro and then a text document explaining how to install it through WHDLoad and won't let you pass but if you play it through Team Pandory core it works just like it does on the mini but doesn't show the animated intro
