  • Though they only reach about an inch, this attractive black and white species does something few other round millipedes can. It fluoresces under UV light!

      What's up, Bugman! This is a very small species but there's definitely a set of hobbyists that just love millipedes and then another set that enjoy small species in smaller tanks for display purposes. This one ticks a few boxes.

      They are super cool !! l I'm definitely a all around millipead hobbyists all shapes and sizes. The smallest I have currently are the bumblebee . I'm hoping to expand the collection soon tho and these guys will definitely be on the Bugmans watch list 👀😁 I hope all is well out your way I'm definitely jealous of all the amazing creatures you guys run into in your videos . I will certainly in the near future book a sky island trip to take part in hunting down some of these majestic creatures!!

    Hey! I'm thinking of purchasing some blue death feigning beetles from your but I don't really know what size enclosure would be good. I've done research and common consensus is 1 gallon per 2 beetles but is that a cube enclosure? I'm planning on having 2 beetles and I'm unclear on what dimensions my beetles would be happy in. Love your videos!

    Very pretty! Are there any nonpoisonous/venomous insects (not spiders or scorpions/scorpion like) that live for decent amount of time in captivity?

      Blue death feigning beetles are probably the most popular species in the category of long-lived bugs. I routinely have customers check in with me 5+ years later and they are still going strong! Ivory millipedes look very much like the species in this video, but are larger and supposedly live up to ten years.

      @@bugsincyberspace Is the Ivory millipede poisonous or venomous?

    • @alexcrowder1673
      @alexcrowder1673 Год назад

      @@khornebread4802 Whether they are poisonous or not is kind of an argument of semantics. They technically excrete toxins, but they are not particularly dangerous to humans. They are definitely not venomous either. Keep in mind that venom and poison do not necessarily have anything to do with lethality, or even whether or not they pose a danger to humans. Ivory millipedes could be considered very mildly poisonous, depending on who you ask, but they are still harmless to humans.

      @@khornebread4802 Ivory millipedes are not venomous. They will if threatened secrete a chemical that can irritate some people's skin if not washed off soon after contact. But by and large they are harmless and good starter millipedes.
