When you get to the end of the video you will see why the original got taken down :(
Sadly these things happen from time to time and its really not worth the possible strike against my channel to fight it (well, not in my eyes anyway)
So, here it is the 5th Complete History I ever did posing as the 52nd :P
Normal programming will resume within the next week with a brand new Record Unboxing, Kick-Scammers AND HOPEFULLY a brand new Complete History too :)
Thank you all for your support, it really does mean the world to me! Hope you like this slightly cruder video that originally aired on October 25th 2015

I'm happy to say that the secret level "Who Turned Out The Lights?" is actually in the Mega Drive/Genesis version. It's accessible from a secret warp in Level 5 (Of which actually is the 5th level of the game if you don't count the Andy Asteroids levels). Can't remember the exact location, but I can promise you that the warp is there. :-)

The warp to "Who Turned Out the Lights" is near the end of the first section of Level 5 after you see Monkey for a Head turning valves releasing those eye ball thingies and as you whip across two spikes onto a platform before the final stretch there's a platform with some red dots that looks like a warp...jump up into it and voila. Secret level found.

think of it like this: earthworm jim was made for the genesis first. to put it on the snes they basically “stretched” it out. if you look at the sprites of jim you’ll see how it’s stretched on the snes! i love some of the ost from the snes more but the genesis triumphs. i’ve noticed that on the snes i have hitbox issues and take damage easier, which is a crutch in a game where you need all the health you can get. the sound effects are so much better on the genesis. the manual for the snes ver. is in color and better than the genesis ver., if you ask me. the genesis game has a plastic shell where i believe the snes is cardboard. the best version of this game is of course the CD version but goes for around $200 usd currently. if you want to play ej, pick up a copy of the genesis version and enjoy!

The "Who Turned the Lights Off" bonus level isn't exclusive to SNES. The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version has that too. Also, from what I've heard, the "Intestinal Distress" level came about when Sega wanted their version to have an exclusive level, so they asked Shiny to make one in exchange for lowering the cartridge costs. Also, "Level 5" is the actual fifth level on the original Mega Drive version and the later versions added stuff which moved Level 5 further into the game.

I mentioned this before on the original upload, there's a Win95 CD-ROM version of EWJ1 published by Activision that outdoes the Sega CD/Mega CD release, but is one of the most stubborn titles to get working right on anything post-WinME. I know all this because I still own it (jewel case only; I lost the PC box a long time ago).
It should also be worth noting that, since I originally commented on all this, I cannot find any info as to a European release, so maybe that was why you had no knowledge of the release. GOG selling only the DOS version in the Can 'O Worms bundle CD doesn't help your cause, either, and I (apocryphally) believe the DOS versions sold better, possibly because the release was closer to the mainstream relevance of the 1st title to the franchise. After all, EWJ2 was likely already out or around the corner when Win95 EWJ1 was released. Win95 was released in August 95, and at the very least, my disc has a copyright of 95, while EWJ2 was in November that year.
Sorry I still can't help more than this. I'm not surprised about the strike, it was only a matter of time, I suppose.

    • @TheBalthassar
      @TheBalthassar 6 лет назад +2

I also had that Win95 CD-ROM version. There had to have been some form of European release of it, because I ended up with it. But yeah, it definitely seems better than any of the versions listed.

There's so many games that hold a special place in our memory. That came along in the perfect time in our lives and in the history of the industry that were a shining showcase of what the medium could be. Then we try and play them today and we quickly learn how deceptive memory can be (Final Fantasy VII, anyone?). Where they just don't up.
And then there's the Earthworm Jim games that not only hold up today but who's animation has only been matched a small handful of times.

This game used to creep me out when I was a kid..
One day I've played the EWJ 1 on snes and fell asleep. The other day I woke up with my tv turned off and went to school, when I came back and turned the tv on there was the title screen (and loading screen of each stage ) on 6:09 of this video with the weird snes song of the first stage playing. I was creeped out and kinda of scared of the game ever since.
On the secret stage "Who Turned Out The Lights?" on snes exclusively, at the end of the stage there was a huge cat eyes on the dark and when you encounter EWJ give a scream and you die if you don't do anything (like run back). This scared so much that I ran from my bedroom immediatly.

Aladdin games are 2 completely different games for both systems, none of them is a port.

The special edition is basically the PC version. I have the PC version and I remember dealing with Bug Bruty, not to mention the homing missiles

There were a couple incorrect things you stated (ewj1) but you caught my attention at earthworm Jim 2’s sega Saturn vs PlayStation bit, Saturn from my knowledge has background parallax scrolling giving the backgrounds more depth, PlayStations backgrounds are fairly static, but that’s the only difference I can spot (as I’ve never played each port my self)

You missed a... kinda-sorta earthworm Jim in another game. In the (criminally underrated) strategy game "Sacrifice" the god of earth is an earthworm... named James. This was also a Shiny release.

I was lucky enough to get this game not know anything about it for my birthday and hands down my favorite sega game ever. I’m confused though, the sega version had the secret “in the dark” level but you said it didn’t? Or am I confused.

I played kid chameleon, a game of the same generation. It’s hard as hell, quite fun but difficult.

Where can we submit a kickscammer, that I was tempted to almost support when I found out about it?
