Let suffering be the door you walk through that draws you to deeper intimacy with Jesus. Jesus understands heartbreak, betrayal, abandonment, loneliness, sorrow, and pain. He is acquainted with grief. He cares. He cares for you. God promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" Hebrews 13:5. The crowning glory will be that because of the pain we have endured, we have come to know Jesus in a way that causes us to treasure the trial as one of God's greatest gifts to us. Amazing."

I don't usually comment on people's videos but Jeff it's so great and uplifting to finally see these teaching videos again from you and Alyssa. They really do make my day and lift my spirit. I've definitely missed them.
This is a big issue Jeff and you approached it well. I think too often we approach others in their suffering with our theology and try to "explain" to them exactly why this or that happened, when what we really need to do is just "be" there for them, just like our God is there for us. Truthfully we can't understand or explain away all suffering but we can know that God is with us and for us and that he feels our pain because He also suffered and that is the greatest encouragement.

What I love so much concerning the God we serve, is that all the questions that man in sorrows asks our faithful God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit 1Jo 5:7) has from the everlasting gospel, that started in Genesis, already answered!

Through my trials and suffering, I have come to understand why people do walk away from God...I get it now. When you don't feel God or everything in your circumstances and the world tells you to walk away and look out for yourself, it's hard to not focus on your hurt and trials. Thank you for reminding us to hold true to God's promises and not trying to answer the "why?" but instead looking to the "what"...what does God want me to get out of this, what does He want me to learn...

Just found your channel an i have to say i can relate alot to this video earlier this year my mom died of cancer and i have to say that was the most terrible pain ive felt in years but i kept my head and i know god was there with me
Putting this to some of the most intense scenes of Passion would be tough to watch, but help visualize the suffering our God endured.
Would love to see more of these videos. Going off to college tomorrow and I am very well aware that I will most definitely be feeling so much loneliness, I must remind myself that Jesus is with me, all the time. Thanks so much Jeff.

I've been CRAZY busy and just caught up on this video. First, THANK YOU! Your videos always help me. I've encountered so many deaths of people I deeply love...the first being my Grandma March 2014, and the most recent being my Grandpa just a few weeks ago. Every time I start to feel like I'm on the road to healing from a heartbreak...BOOM something else happens and I'm ripped apart again. I keep reminding myself that the Lord is near to the broken hearted...and this video definitely helped me with that. Between all the deaths, and my family purposely hurting me emotionally, I've encountered a lot of pain and heart break over the last year and a half. I was wondering if you could do a video on this question, or include this in the next podcast. What do you do when you have to "act" like everything is perfectly fine because the time limit the world gave you to mourn is over, but you're not done mourning? (example: I was expected to be fine the day after my grandma's funeral.)

Oh how amazingly wonderful to discover your channel. I consider myself as average so when I say that your video's are exactly what a lot of people are seeking. Those of us who were never taken to church, as children, or taught at home- well, I found it hard to understand a lesson because parts of it appeared in so many different sections of the Bible. I could never complete it so, therefore, could never understand it so gave up. Also you bring God's messages in a manner so they apply to our world today. Young adults, especially, can relate to your ability to explain the answers to questions that specifically apply to their age group- as well as regular teachings. BLESS YOU + THANKYOU!!!

Jeff, my brother committed suicide 2 1/2 weeks ago. Thank you for doing this video- I just don't have any words right now. God suffered so we don't have to suffer for eternity. I am utterly amazed at his goodness, presence, and sacrificial love that gave my brother the chance to go see His Savior.
