  • Ford has made at least five variations of the Bronco over the years, with tons of different packages, but after getting behind the wheel of the new Bronco Raptor I'm pretty sure this is the best Bronco ever made. It has more power, better suspension and bigger tires that has ever been offered with the bucking stallion badge.

Very true on the older bronco's horsepower. I have a 1988 XLT I bought new (and a 2023 Wildtrak). And the 6 banger Wildtrak has more horsepower than my factory 351w had until I built and Paxton supercharged the 351 (and SAS'd it and put 1 tons under it, coil over springs and Bilsteins.

Love my new Outer Banks Bronco. Great power, comfort, fuel economy, handling, and enough off road chops to take me where *I* want to go. Am I going to take it over the Rubicon or the nastiest trails at Moab? No, but that’s not what I want. I want to go up any labeled National Forest Road to any hiking trailhead, or to a high-country valley with waterfalls & awesome views. I use it to take me places - not to abuse or to see what size of rock I can scape it across.

  • @TheOffroadCamper

Jeep has the same suspension technology in the Grand Cherokee lineup it just depends on which model you have the SRTs had adaptable shocks. And the air suspension on the off-road variance is pretty damn intelligent. I have all the interior out of the back of mine in preparation to build an overlanding sleep platform and I can hear it constantly adjusting air pressure to the airbags for the air suspension it’s always calculating and reading sensor activity so jeep does have a similar vehicle in the Grand Cherokee lineup it may not be quite as balls to the wall but it could be if Jeep wanted to; a Hemi Grand Cherokee is straight up bonkers with horsepower and torque.

I finally rode my local Ford dealer enough times, that or I caught them at the right time, or maybe they felt sorry for me, or just got tired of me making fun of them to the point that they did me good on purchasing the Raptor Bronco at a decent price. End of the month may have helped, too. The Raptor Bronco is most definitely the whole package. I'm going with a set of Cooper STT Pro's this week. I am not a fan of the BFG K02's. Thanks for the decent well rounded review.
