Wow, I remember watching these shows as a kid. CBS Storybreak, and ABC Weekend Special. I love them, I kinda feel spoiled knowing kids today don't have these kinds of cartoons. Oh well...
For YEARS, I always had an image of some weird creature with a long nose named Bunjee, but never remembered anything else about it. Thank you so much for uploading this!!
I loved this so much as a kid. It's weird seeing it again as a 41 year old. Can't say it stands the test of time, but the VHS static is priceless. Thank you!
I haven't seen this in years and years, but never have forgotten it. I was hoping I'd find it again someday. this cartoon has always been a favorite of mine. thank you.
I wondered if I'd ever be able to show this to my kids! This was my favorite of the ABC WS, and I've tried three times to purchase the VHS tape on Amazon only to have the deal fall through every time. Thanks very much!
Thanks for finding this ! I mastered Bunjee's voice many moons ago but nobody could relate to the reference cause they never saw it ! I'll have to spread the word so they know I'm not crazy. I see you workin. Kudos !
I nicknamed my little brother Bunjee after this cartoon, but nobody ever remembered seeing it besides me. Finally I have proof that I wasn't crazy and I can send a link to my little brother's wife and daughters to see who he got his nickname from. :-) (My kids still think I'm crazy though that I ever watched this 33 years ago.)
This elephant like purple creature was imprinted in my mind since it first appeared on TV way back when, but I couldn't think of the name of it, only the show it appeared on. Thanks for posting this video series! This was my favorite creature and episode.
+BlackArro Cartoons I'm the same as you. I could remember watching this movie (though probably on tape since I was born in 1992) but I couldn't remember the name. I could remember it was a Elephant like creature that could fly bit that was it. Thankfully I asked my mom and she helped me find it. Thankfully someone put a video up ^^
+HidanKitten32 Cool to hear you had a similar story. It's a classic story and I just noticed the purple hair dryer in the beginning resembles the Bunjee creature voiced by Frank Welker, a well known voice artist.
+Weißer Wolf The creature was very unique from anything I saw at that time, and it went on an adventure of sorts, with nice animation, artwork and sound. Still holds up well today. Would be nice if the animated series was released remastered on home video.
@AnnainCA I recorded this show sometime in early 1990 but I had the commercials cut out while recording it so this show is posted as is, however I recorded a show I believe the night before - a primetime cartoon called The Yum Yums with one segment of commercials since I forgot to pause the recording.I also have somehow recorded ABC Weekend special "Cougar Part 2" entirely with commercials.
@DrXenolan You're welcome.I was about to buy it on Amazon myself but the price was awful high when I checked.Thankfully I found the tape before I made any attempts to purchase.I had thought it was lost until I accidentally came across it.
I really like the animation, and character designs here, and Frank Welker voicing Bungee is a huge plus in my book. I also noticed that Penny Sigleton (Jane Jetson) voices the mon here. Feel free to correct me on that.
Been trying to find this movie for a while. I only had the first one on VHS, but sadly lost it in a old house. (Probably wouldn't have worked since I watched it so much as a kid.)
I used to make fun of my sister when this one came up who still looks exactly like the little girl in this cartoon! The dad looks like Doug from New Zoo Revue

MY child hood memory! I knew I didn't imagine this, thank you so much, you're an angel!

I saw The Amazing Bunjee Venture on VHS and now I converted it to DVD. It really brings back memories of ABC Saturday Mornings.

Love THIS!! Even Named my Doggy Bunjee!!!! R.I.P Girl!! How cool to see it again!!!
Of all the ABC weekend specials Jon McClenahan animated this is where his style stands out the most, like at 12:28-33 for instance.
Blast from the past! I remember his girlfriend "Bunjina" too! :)
That was from a sequel that was not based on a book first.
@DrXenolan You're welcome.I was about to buy it on Amazon myself but the price was awful high when I checked.Thankfully I found the tape before I made any attempts to purchase.I had thought it was lost until I accidentally came across it.
I've been looking for this cartoon for years, though all this time I thought it was pronounced Munjee
I finally found it. It's been a memory I could not get out of my head and I could not remember it's name.
The "Dino Time/Back to the Jurassic" of the 80's.
Thank you so much for posting thi!!!

The Bunjee Venture 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My mom always talked about this but I could never find it
That's because he's voiced by Frank Welker.
Right, the same man who voiced Slimer in the Real Ghostbusters.
I saw a sequel to this many years ago.
That sequel was not based on a book, unlike the Mouse and the Motorcycle's sequel were. That's why it never came to VHS and its hard to find.
@@dreamguardian8320 Not anymore! Just found 2 videos on youtube under the title 'The Return of Bunjee'!
They made a sequel called Return of the Bunjee.
In spanish, it's Il Ritorno di Bunjee
That sequel was not based on a book, that's why it's rare and hard to find.
@@dreamguardian8320 I just saw the sequel earlier and it’s on RUclips now.
Do you have anymore Bunjee episodes????
I'm sorry to say I do not. At one time I had "Return of Bunjee" recorded on tape but at some point it got recorded over.
Why does this look like disney animation
Hello bunjie
