  • This week we are revamping our fire pit area! This space is getting used a lot now that it's colder outside, so we thought to go all out and do all the things. Shou sugi ban was amazing, will be doing this technique more as we build more furniture! And as you may know, we never finished the fence...but it's done now and look amazing!

    Great job guys, love the shou sugi ban idea for the loss, it looks great and protects against rot! The lights idea was a nice touch! Dylan, get used to saying those 3 magic words, been married 15 years and find myself saying it often! Great teamwork, keep the content coming!

    Nice video. You can buy a silicone cover that snaps on the top of any 1 gallon paint bucket that has a built in pour spout.

    I believe that’s the same Hampton Bay fire pit I’ll be buying soon. I read that other buyers spray high heat spray paint on it to help prevent rust. Is that something you’d recommend?

    Fire pit area looks great! probably could have used one bag of that foam for both posts if you just braced them temporarily.... seen some great videos of those being pulled out of the ground and how they compare to concrete--pretty cool stuff and surprisingly durable and strong!.

    Nice work, and some great ideas. I have a question, and I guess Incould look this up, but it is easier asking you. The Wagner 3500, for it spray paint and finish poly,etc) also?

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  2 года назад +1

      Yes! It has two nozzles you can use. The one we used is for larger projects and a fine finish nozzle for your smaller projects using finer finishes. We have use both the large and small nozzle with great results on paint, clear sealers, and now stains.

    Why did you guys brush the stain after your sprayed it? Does it need to be evened out after?

      To have even distribution and coverage. Mostly on the ends of the pass where you start/stop and overlap passes there! Hope that makes sense!

    I was thinking the logs will still shed some black to anyone who sits on them. I guess if you put enough poly on they'd be fine. I was thinking maybe to sandblast them and throw some poly on so you have the natural wood look.
    How deep were the posts? I was afraid they weren't down far enough, but those looked like 10' ones. nice job though.

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  2 года назад +1

      Getting black on anyones pants was my biggest concern, but everything we did in the video helped and lots of hand swipe were done😅 We are good to go! Posts are 30” deep
