Hey guys!
This is another one of those ‘Week in the Life’ videos that focuses on our daily life-filmed around each of our work schedules of course ^^ We actually really enjoy filming videos like these, because we can show my (Sarah) family what our everyday life is like together over here :)
This week we met our friend ‘Producer Bang’ (we call him Bang PD, haha) who helped film the EBS special we were in a while back. We’ve kept in contact with him since then, and he very kindly treated us to a delicious lunch ^^
Then the allergies. Oh my god, the allergies. For nearly 2 weeks I was suffering from the worst allergy symptoms I had ever experienced, and they started right after we got Beemo, so I was starting to panic-how could I suddenly develop a cat allergy after nearly 30 years of owning/being around cats with no problems?! So I decided to get a thorough allergy test to get some answers. It was a really thorough test, as they tested me for 55 different allergies, AND it was only $30--so worth it! Spoiler alert, it isn’t Beemo ;D
Even though we film and edit throughout the week around our work schedule, Sunday is ‘the full editing day’ for us, and we work from morning to night (we love it though! :D). In the mornings/early afternoon, we usually make a healthy brunch together before we start our day of editing.

I'm allergic to dust mites as well. They really like to hang out in mattresses (ugh!). A mattress cover will solve that but I believe it has to be a vinyl-like material on the inside. Also very allergic to dogs and cats but with the reduction of most of the carpeting in our home, my allergic reactions are super low. Beemo is a great retriever, by the way! Sooo cute. Loved your video - the grilled cheese looked delicious. Have a wonderful week guys. :))

Glad it wasn't a Beemo allergy! The picture quality is crisp clear and I'm assuming that it's also much better since the sand storm thing cleared now. I'm happy you're feeling better, Sarah. As always, the video was very enjoyable, and in particular the food sections and Beemo sections are always my favorite.

Well, you two are a great and dynamic frontiersmen like couple in the world of cultural affairs. I wish you all the best in making the best and most of life in Korea and in Canada..and whereever else you manage to travel substantially. Thanks for sharing some of the happy moments of your dynamic lives; you don't have to feel like you have to share everything...but just a little bit is edifying.
That Roman/Greek fountain in Lotte World brought back serious memories! My friends and I would always choose that fountain as a meeting place, mostly because of how grotesquely large and impossible to miss it is:) Hahhaha, I love Beemo the dog!!

The easiest way to peel a boiled egg is to crack it against the table and roll it. The shell becomes small shards and you can just peel it off in one go because they stick to the inner membrane :)
+timtamtums why am i always lazy to do that?! i can usually peel the eggs quite nicely, but this method sure is much more easy anyways ;P
well keep an egg in cold water and when it cool down then you don't have a problem to peal it. very simple

달걀을 삶을 때 소금 1티스푼 넣어주면 계란이 끓을 때 깨지지 않고, 식초를 조금 넣어주면 껍질이 깨끗하게 잘 까지다고 합니다ㅎㅎ 삶고 바로 찬물에 식혀주는 것도 껍질이 잘 까진다고 하네요~ 두분 언제나 응원합니다:)
요즘 인터넷에 자극적인 동영상이 많아서 뉴스에 보도되는 일이 정말 많은데 규호님과 세라님 영상 볼때마다 릴렉스해지고 서울이 이렇게 다르게 보일수도 있구나 싶습니다ㅎㅎ저의 서울은 되게 삭막했거든요. 먼지랑 진드기도 고양이가 한몫할텐데..그래도 시간 되실때마다 햇볕에 말려놓으시면 좋을거에요. 오늘도 잘보고 갑니다^^

ahh Sarah I totally feel for you! I'm 5'8 and when I traveled in Korea and Japan all the hostel beds were so short for me and my poor back was hunched all the time. You should come to the Netherlands! Theres loads of things built for tall folk ;D

This is so interesting, my test in the UK was done on my forearm!! And mine is dust mites too and dust mite faeces... barf 🤢. For years I thought it was cats because it was mainly when I'd slept at people's houses, but turns out it was just their dusty old houses 😅 awkward

tip for perfectly peeling eggs: roll them on the counter and it'll come off really easily and more or less in one piece
Hi Sarah I am seriously allergic to dust mites, I break out in hives etc I also have terrible hayfever as well. I have found that eating the Paleo lifestyle and omitting fructose sugar out of my diet (plus twice daily cups of bone broth) has cleared up my symptoms tenfold. No steroid or antihistamines have worked in this way before!
+KiwiRugbyTravelStories Woah, thank you so much for this tip! I've actually heard that eating Paleo can make a huge difference in allergies and inflammation. I may have to give it a try and see if it helps me~

봄철 알러지에 예민한 저만의 예방법을 말씀드립니다. 도움되시길....(저는 알러지비염이 있어 심하면 코에서 눈까지 힘들어집니다.)
1. 꾸준한 운동
2. 가공음식 덜먹기 (밀가루,설탕...)
3. 마스크착용
특히 초기에 외출시 마스크착용은 대단한 효과가 있어요...코속 점막이 축축하게 유지시켜줘서 그런지 알러지가 와도 잠시 왔다갑니다.
The immigration stuff is really similar coming from Korea to the States (which my husband Jiwoong is doing now), a lot of people think that marrying an American is an instant permanent residency as well, but its not. Jiwoong and I will get to the Korean side of immigration in the future. Hopefully things will be easier by then!
P.s. I also love using chopsticks for salads, its a lot easier than trying to stab lettuce with a fork!
Oh I had mite allergy too when I was young. It was especially difficult when the seasons changed. I actually had to stop swimming because of my nasal allergy. But luckily for some reason I got better as I got older. I wish I knew what exactly cured my allergy. My parents tried all sorts of things, everything from oriental medicine to western medicine, so it could have been anything. I wish I could be of more help :( Hopefully time will cure your allergy like mine.

those kimbap looks soooooooo good! :Q it's too bad that in where i live it's hard to find a decent kimbap. weird things is that there's so many great korean restaurant here but not one who serves kimbap huh. btw i've never seen anyone eating grilled cheese with a chopstick! those looks yum so now i'm craving for grilled cheese.

Cats have mites. :( Make sure you get him/her a mite collar.
+wm connors I've had cats for over 50 years and NEVER have I had a cat with a mite. Cats do not have mites.

Yes they do have cat mites in the ears or fleas in their fur. Very common ONLY when they mix around with other strays. If they dont mix with strays and strictly an indoor house cat, there shouldnt be any mites and fleas problem.
Yes, ear mites are very easy to take care of, in general no though, and they don't travel further than the ears. Fleas do not live on a cat, rather they jump on the cat to feed then lay their eggs in the carpet or any other suitable flooring.
The mite allergy Sarah has it for DUST MITES, which Beemo is not responsible for! Dust mites are everywhere unless you live in a hermetically sealed chamber 24/7. There's absolutely no avoiding them. It's possible to build up an immunity to them with weekly allergy injections, however. Did your allergist talk with you about that possibility, Sarah?
Lol reminds me when I went to lotte world with my bf. I underestimated French Revolution (indoor rollercoaster) and got tricked by my bf that its not that scary. I was literally screaming and hyperventilating during the ride but the ride didnt last long but felt like a long time for me. Lolol. I was the only foreigner on the ride, couldnt help myself but swear in english like shieeeetttttt fkkkkk fmll. I guess its a funny memory! Never again! Lol!
