Hey guys!
Well, many of you have noticed our love for cats, and after considering it for about a year or so, we’ve finally decided to adopt a kitty ^^
Beemo was left at a vet clinic when he was 6 months old (he’s about 1.5 years old now). The very nice guy we adopted Beemo from took him in and fostered him for a while until he could find Beemo a permanent home, since he’s going back to America soon. He even provided us with all the necessarily ‘cat supplies’.
We are super excited, as this is our first pet together, and Beemo is such a loving, and affectionate little guy-and so well behaved. We’re so in love with him already!
This was definitely more of a chill weekend for us, as we were all over the place last week filming cherry blossoms, so we wanted a more laid back weekend for a change. ‘Luckily’ it rained heavily on Saturday so we had an excuse to stay home and relax a bit, heheh.

When I look back on this video ,it is so cool and unusual to see how Beemo made himself at home in such a brief period of time . Not even a bit nervous Obviously Beemo knew this his forever home and he was going to be so loved! Yay Beemo ❤️

헐, 발톱 제거라니 첫 주인이 좀,,, 새 가족 생긴 거 축하드려요.비모가 참 예쁘고 귀엽네요.전 작년 12월에 길 고양이를 입양했어요.첫눈에 각시와 저는 반해버려서 2주동안 보리가 있던 공원에 가서 관찰을 하고 동영상을 찍어서 동물병원 원장님과 상의했더니길냥이 엄마에게 태어나서 처음부터 길생활을 한 아이가 아닌 것 같다고 입양해도 좋을 것 같다고 하셔서 데려왔는데 너무 예뻐요.애교도 많고 하는 짓 하나하나 너무 예뻐요. 우리 부부가 출근하면 혼자 있는 게 외로워 보였는데, 시장에서 목을 묵어 키우던 새끼 고양이를 안쓰러워서 5만원주고 데려왔는데 처음 2,3일 기싸움 하더니 지금은 둘이 꼭 붙어서 자요.아주 이뻐 죽겠어요.
고양이가 진짜 순하네요.. 보통 낯선 사람은 경계많이 하는데.. 한 10년은 같이 산것 처럼 행동하네요 ㅋㅋ
Oh wow! I am so happy that you adopted an adult cat! There are a lot of adult cats out there that needs new families and sadly I think a lot of people forget about that. He seems like the perfect companion for you guys, good luck!

Wow, I just watched this whole video and only had good thoughts for Beemo. You guys gave him so much love and he looked so content and happy. You made great memories with him. My cat has been gone for about 10 years and we shared 17 years together. I miss him still. He looked like Beemo and it makes me happy to watch your videos to remind me as well. Thank-you for sharing.

My husband and I adopted our cat last year. I had my heart set on getting an adult cat. But whenever we walked by this kitten's cage, he purred super loud. When I picked him up, he melted in my arms. Well, my original plan went out the window. I can't imagine life without him. 😺💞

고양이가 가구나 가전제품, 벽지를 긁어서 손상시킨다는 이유로 발톱제거수술을 권하게 되는 경우가 가끔 있다. 이 수술은 이름처럼 단지 발톱을 뽑아내는 수술이 아니라 발톱의 생장점이 있는 발가락 첫째 마디의 뼈를 모두 절단하는 수술로 마취한다고 해도 고양이에게 심한 통증을 준다. 발가락이 한 마디씩 잘려나간 고양이는 뛰어오르거나 뛰어내릴 때에도 예전만큼 능숙하지 못하며, 높은 곳에서 균형을 잃으면 발톱을 사용해서 몸을 단단히 고정시키지 못하고 그대로 추락할 수밖에 없다.
무엇보다 첫 번째 방어도구인 발톱을 잃은 고양이는 자기 스스로를 보호할 수 없다는 불안감에 휘말려 성격이 바뀌는 일이 많다. 즉 대수롭지 않은 일에도 극도로 예민해지거나 공격적으로 바뀐다. 심한 경우에는 우울증에 걸리기도 하고, 다른 고양이나 사람을 적대시해 마구 물어대는 등 행동장애를 보이기도 한다. 이 수술의 여러 가지 부작용이 널리 알려짐에 따라 영국에서는 이미 발톱제거 수술을 동물학대로 간주, 불법화했고 다른 나라들도 영국의 뒤를 따르려는 움직임을 보이고 있다. 고양이가 무언가를 긁는 행동은 영역을 표시하는 수단임과 동시에 반가움과 기쁨의 표현수단이다. 발톱을 다듬는 것은 고양이의 큰 즐거움이다. 수술로 발가락이 잘린 고양이도 기쁠 때나 무료할 때에 앞발로 벽이나 바닥 따위를 긁는 시늉을 한다. 이는 긁는 습성이 고양이의 막을 수 없는 본능이라는 것을 보여주는 단적인 예다. 고양이에게 발톱긁개를 마련해주고 이를 사용하도록 훈련시킨다면 굳이 발톱제거수술을 시킬 필요가 없다. 또 고양이용 발톱깎이를 이용해 정기적으로 발톱 끝을 약간씩 다듬어주면 된다.

Omg how could could have declawed him?! Horrible practice but he has now found a lovely family. He seems terribly cute and he looks like my Kalua that I left in Italy with my grandma but Beemo seems more friendly. Kalua is a bit of a princess!

+AdrenalStorm Yuki (my cat in Canada) is not at all friendly to other cats, so that may not be such a good idea! 😅
She has a strong willed demeanor which is actually a very good trait to have as a woman living in Korea. She's going to fit in just well in this country without problem.

Oh, I'm SO happy for you! How old is Beemo? He's really beautiful and seems very loving. His previous owner must've been a nice person to raise such a sweet kitten. He's taken to you as though he's known you all his life - lots of love there. Lucky Beemo to have found such a loving home!
