I had an aunt who went on family vacations with us. Her & I would always be the last family members to go to bed. We'd play cards, drink & listen to abbey road & aqualung til the wee hours in the early to mid 70's. Thanks aunt Rita. I'll always remember those good times.
I'm only 52 but my step-dad allowed me to listen to this album as a young man and I still love it to this day
Jethro Tull war eine großartige Band
Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson ...
Sound of Generations...
Divino ❤
How can they be denied. Just like ELP, they were the best concerts, everywhere, all the time. Fantastic.
Went to 3 Tull concerts back in the day. Nothing compares nowadays
Jethro Tull should obsoletely be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. How other blues and rap performers are in ahead of this band is criminal.
coz the hall of of fame is rigged.
Needs a PUSH to get em there..how they aren't is beyond reason. He is genius in story telling through the best music out there...!
Their too good and a class act to be in the RRHF. RRHF is a joke.
You
Mean they're not?
The rock and roll hall of fame is irrelevant, thank you Cher for calling them out.
Ian Anderson hatte eine großartige Stimme
Anyone that ROCKS the flute 🪈 is impressive....Ian brings it to mastery level
70 y/o, there was a time when u couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing JT. Still got most of his LP’s. Great music.
...I remember being the the barracks in Germany (1972-73) and hearing this, Aqualung, etc. blasted on stereos night & day on weekends...an still being able to sleep at night through the 'battle of the stereos'...great memories!!!
YESSSSS........ I WAS THERE. I WAS 16 YEARS OLD........ UNBELIEVABLE ATMOSPHÄRE.
I wasn't. Eff you. (Joking. What a trip for ya, bud!)
Now 70, this was my music when younger! Saw them perform live in '72 - Ian Anderson is crazy wonderful.
Memories of Corpus Christi 1970s...beautiful times and heart breaking at same time...haaah
so lucky to have grown up in these times.all the bands of the era were the greates performers.ever.
I went to Jethro Tull in I think 1981 and I went with one of my friends who happened to be deaf. He said he could hear the show!! Awesome time!
Jethro Tull's music lives on! But unlike other musical genres, there is nothing coming up to duplicate their sound. One of a kind forever! :-) Wow!
I was born 8/10/1982 and im blushing. This man brings us honor
Ian is still amazing! Love watching him perform and especially playing the flute. He’s Gold.
Larger than Life
On a warm summer night in the early 1980's I was pulling into the parking lot of Purdue North Central, for a nightly class when Ian Anderson started talking on the radio. Two hours later I was still in my car listening to him...
I believe it. I would’ve done the same. Such a brilliant mind!
Es el grupo más clásico,de los años 69,70,y sigue mi recuerdo de mi juventud
Everyone has heard the old saying "ls there no end to this man's talent?" It fits lan Anderson very well!!! Love Jethro Tull!!!
Fortunate enough to see them once. Great concert and performance! Jethro Tull ROCKS!
Yep .old ànd google.
Goodie
Damn straight!
Ian is 1 of the most intelligent people I've ever listened to.
Jethro Tull war eine großartige Band, die haben wir in Hamburg gesehen
Ever...Ever....Ever......THE SOUND OF GENERATIONS......❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ A life without Jethro Tull is possible, but senseless......❤
fyi: Jethro Tull was an English agriculturist from Berkshire who helped to bring about the British Agricultural Revolution of the 18th century, born 1674. He perfected a horse-drawn seed drill in 1701 that economically sowed the seeds in neat rows, and later developed a horse-drawn hoe.
👌👏 nice one mate !
and he is still playing the flute to this day.......
Dude....what a tale 😅
you must have been an economics major :)
Good one, bud! Now give us the background of Uriah Heep.
Saw them in person in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Always great!
The bass line in this song is simply amazing! Pounding and perfectly in time with Anderson.
I wish this were on the studio album -- it's so tasty!
The intensity of this performance is crazy.
There is NO song better than the extended version of Locomotive Breath. I graduated from high school in 72. Started out listening to it on an 8 track, now, 52 years later, I’m still streaming the hell out of it.
Do you have a link you would share for the extended version?
One of the best band ever. I'm proud to be a boomer.
Excellent musicians indeed.
Ian with his flute is like a crazy wizzard that he likes rocking!
Jethro Tull winning a Grammy over Metallica is still my favorite awards show moment
ABSOLUTLEY...hahaha
What's even funnier is that a member of one of the bands attending the awards was heard to have asked......what are they gonna do now, start touring with Iron Maiden?😅 Love Tull!
Ich war 17 Jahre alt als ich Jethro Tull das erste mal live in der Nibelungen Halle in Passau gesehen habe, bin jetzt 60 Jahre alt und würde wieder auf jedes Konzert gehen!
,,,,,,,........TULL...........HITTING ON ALL EIGHT CYLINDERS..............,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I remember.....Fan for life.😯😯
Bring back the 70's
Being a flute player myself……I’d say there is no style quite like Ian’s ! Locomotive Breath being a tough piece to play with such energy! Martin Barre an incredible guitarist ! The entire band being superb musicians and bringing such creativity to Jethro Tull !
In the 70 during my teens of 17 years ...i like Jethro Tull.
My fav❤❤
I saw them in 1972 and was so impressed by the talent and professionalism that I gave up any hope of ever being in a band.
One of the greatest musicians of ALL time. Glory to God
No doubt !!
Greatest rock front man.
Saw them in 72 or 73 at
Longbeach arena. Tull
Opened for black sabbath. Had a great time
the music i grow up with, 59 years old and still love it.. head banging right now :P
You're my age! I've loved Tull since my youth. Still do.
The Best Classic's Musician of the '70's !!
Rock on..rock on...great jehtro tull .song
After 3 brutal combat tours in Vietnam my brain and my soul were searching for an answer. Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson led me thru the darkness and helped me out of the jungle that I was lost in. It still rely on these lyrics and music to take me away. I finally have an answer.
This album is pure perfection. My God, Cross eyed Mary . Aqualung + Locomotive Breath .
So amazing, full of energy, what drums and flute....I remember this song so many years..when I was in school...Ian is for ever...
So full of satanic messaging.
In their prime, no one could touch this band. They were like a caged animal! Amazing!
Yes!
I’m 72 years old and I’ve been listening to Jethro Tull since my early twenties and still love them!❤❤❤❤❤
Saw JT twice in the LA Forum 70’s best of times ❤
im 76 and still love the sound
I'm 73 and I hear ya!👍👍👍
Me too, Gary. I got to see Tull doing the Aqualung Tour. What a band. And Anderson, What a genius!
Ellos son atemporales.
Tull can Rock out as hard as anyone!
was my favorite band when i was 14. Im now 64 and still love them and listen to them often
68 years old here. Used to smoke up and listen to these guys a lot. I have Thick As A Brick on CD and slap it into my portable player and listen to it when I'm washing the car sometimes. Probably drives the neighbours a little crazy but I don't care. Brings back a lot of memories.
Who knew a rock n roll band could feature a flute.😊
62 here and I hadn't really listened to them much. Totally getting into them now. Better late than never.
74, pop my best of Tull in when I need a boost. Miss days in college when I could get premium weed for $20 an ounce!
63 1st heard Tull about 71 loved them then, but love them more now!!❤❤❤
Some of the best music ever played !
Now I know why Jethro Tull is regarded one of the best bands ever truly legendary performance and incredible sound 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ian Anderson war ein großartiger Sänger
This is amazing to watch all those people loving life .In a mass crowd jumping up and down no one being offended or having there toes stepped on .How I long for the old America.
😲😲🫨🫨🫨wow!!! Jethro tull is Out of this world 👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏🪈🪈🪈💯🍻🎸🪗🎷🎸🪈
.... absoluty music .... heart ....
He played this in Hartford Connecticut back in the late 70s and he threw the balloons out there just as he did hear one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen
I only had the opportunity to see Jethro Tull once live in concert. But that one time was enough for me to know that few bands are as good live, in concert. Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull are masters of theatre. Seeing them live was an unforgettable experience.
Jethro Tull haben wir auch in Hamburg gesehen
Tull was a fantastic concert!
What a guitar sound
They played this on my 19th birthday. I finally get to get to hear it at 60!
Worth the wait❤
I'd listen this show this yesterday evening. Absolutely amazing performance. Yesterday? Oh, it was not yesterday, it's 41 Years ago I watched this on TV, time is running so fast.ve
One of the all time great concentrated flute solos EVER in rock or anywhere else. Jethro Tull rocks unbelievably!!!!
Exceptional and a drug never passed their lips, Ian was %100 anti drug, masters of music.
I grew up with these guys. I loved the unconventional style…a Rock and Role band with a flute? Extra points because my wife was a flute player. Bose 901’s were rocking the windows at home. I still can’t believe we never blew them out. Thank you so much for the great memories.
The best song ever
The Stones and Pink Floyd shows in the 90’s were all fine and well. For my money, it was Ian and his crew in the early 70’s. The best live shows, ever!
The pioneer of the rock flute
I was really glad when they got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A lot of people said they didn't deserve it because they weren't rock & roll, but they couldn't be more wrong. They are the epitomy of rock & roll. Their musical arrangements, their music , their concerts songs and lyrics it's all rock & roll. Ian's talent with that flute can not be matched even by guys like Kenny G and others like him. It's out of this world. Locomotive Breath is one of my favorite Tull songs.
still love it!!
Hail Tull great days! 25 years of R&R for me n you were one of my 1st concerts
I remember this, we had 4 8 track tapes when 4 of us drove from Connecticut to northern Maine in 1971 the day after we graduated from high school. This was one of those tapes.
Jethro tull❤
1982 i was at the swap meet , found a Jethro Tull seller, albums, i was how quaint , that old stuff from 1978
1975 Lafayette College in Easton PA… I got to see this incredible band in a small venue. I get chills listening to this song 😵💫
And he still has that energy and stamina, saw him a couple of years ago. This is real 🎶 🎵 ⏹️ 🪕 🎼 💿 🎶 🎵 ⏹️!!❤❤❤
Ian's breath he is the Locomotive Hell of one
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Talent in tights🍀💚🎸
So amazing, I remember at this time, everyone could play one or more instruments - and now?
Rock n roll is never die.
Haven't heard this in a very long time, almost forgot how much I loved this band!
So much respect for Ian Anderson!!!
Superlative. Reminds me of seeing Tull in the 80s! 😊
My first concert. Started off right
@@nancywelsh2837 an excellent choice. 👍
I went to his Chicago concert during 1973. 1st concert and best one that I ever attended.
I 'm Crazy for Jethro tull
Classic! These dudes are jacked out of their minds! 😵
No comments... just sit, listen, enjoy and relax.
Ohhh, how i love this band....for over 55 years now !!!👍👍👍
Raw talent
I was fortunate to see them during the Aqualung and Thick as a Brick tours - truly amazing shows. Definitely should be honored in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Even if Ian Anderson thinks it should only be for American bands.
Does he?!
Even so, I'm surprised that they weren't inducted years ago!
GLAD i GOT TO SEE THIS FIERY EDITION
Days when you went to gigs to enjoy being part of the moment, rather than being surrounded by people playing with their phones!
Oh grow up silly 😅 Enjoy the music.
You kids get off my lawn!!!!
Oh boy! Speak truth and the phone addicts bite!
Thank you
Dude! Never thought about it but yes . Those were the days. Musicians had the raw talent and guts you no longer see today
And that's how you put on a concert!
Just awesome!
When I was younger I played flute always wanted to sound like Jethro Tull...he is so cool
