I *was* alive in the 80s and this record is incredible. Takes me right back to being a kid/early teenager. It’s just so on point ... And you hit it on the head when you said there’s a little of every 80s band in it. I could listen to this record on repeat and never feel like it was a modern group.

Facts: MGMT is an abbreviated version of their original name (the management) when they were getting bigger they had to change it since the name was already in use by another band.

I play little dark age in my headphones all day as I'm out and about. I sing along and dance wherever I am. Stores, library, bars, restaurants, city bus, narcotics anonymous meetings. Because of this great madness I've made 40+ new friends and 3 or 4 new enemies in the last few days. Thank you so much MGMT, I love you and best wishes to all hoping you have a great day😎 ps ty for the great review

I really like this! As with you, it has a very 80’s vibe to me- which is a good thing! For me, the 80’s was bringing Metal more to the forefront, but also brought in New Wave ...and everything worked! I loved that time- no sub genres like we have now for everything. And the beginning of MTV. It was all music. You could have Judas Priest, followed by Oingo Boingo, followed by Madonna, then Human League, then Ratt, and on and on and on! MGMT could have come out in that era, but is fresh now. Very enjoyable!
