      Indeed. It was the great prison mock study that proved that the current system in the US gives too much unsupervised authority and breeds an environment where (admitted) the guards don't feel boundaries. It was after that and accusations of abuse that created a system for investigation such matters. Like it is FL Law when working with Juveniles that a grievance process must be followed up immediately if a complaint is made and all conflicts on interest be removed.

    This would make a great episode. In "Law & Order Special Victims Unit". When benson has her detectives investigate a death of an Bank Guard. Who was brutal murdered either he was: beaten, tortured, shot. After finding the suspects. During the interrogation, as they explain like in this scene. Olivia & Barba soon learn their truth motives of what they did. It was revenge for what that guard did in the past. The guy has friends that did same thing as well. So the suspects not only they're murderers, their victims of a sex crime. As the case goes into deeper of finding out a large cover up at a "State Reformatory School". This is where they finding out countless victims that were or is being: Beaten, Tortured, Rape. But it'll be a tough case to built after all many years has passed, the records were lost, destroyed or misplaced. They're those who are in power wanted the past to stay buried. So SVU will a challenge for them but they would do what it prove it & drag those who have broken the law & bring justice to the victims.

      The risk unfortunately was greater then act of courage in the late 60s in any correction facility! A black man would had lost his job ,the boys would had endured twice the abuse due they snitching and each of them still owe that year and a half

    • @justus4341

      The boys didn’t tell the guard or anybody else because back then it was unheard of a male getting sexually abused. If they were to eventually speak out then they would have most likely been ignored and the person that they were telling would not have given a shit.
      So there is no point in telling and let’s also not forget that being abused degrades you as a person and you feel ashamed of what happened and that therefore is another reason not to tell anybody.

    Morale to the story men who take correctional guard jobs only do so to intimidate those in their charge. This happens in real life too. The guards know that the inmates can't do anything due to that stupid wall of silence that the guards have. And retaliation is brutal. I believe its why the inmates react as they do ( and you all know their ingenuity). This movie was great but at the same time very difficult to watch. Kevin Bacon gave an excellent if not disturbing performance. The rest of the cast was great!

    • @i_only_simp_for_myself800
      @i_only_simp_for_myself800 3 года назад

      Honestly prison is like school something. The abusive teachers always bully the quiet kids and respect the troublemakers, but society portray them as a moral compass, while it’s more of a power battle. I was bullied by a teacher who was similar to the sneaky guard, and I regret being a shy sweet girl, cause he would have respected me if I was a troublesome kid. Prison is also like that, some guards literally befriend the toughest prisoners but pick on the weak ones, while they’re supposed to bring justice. That sucks.

      Correct, but you said "Every single one of them were either raped,beaten up, man pawned, abused mentally, emotionally, and physically except rizzo" which is NOT true. Tho, we dont know if Rizzo was ever raped, but he certainly was beaten up and phsysically abused - that's how he died. They lied and said he died of pneumonia, but his brother, Little Ceasar found out the truth from King Benny and had him killed. So the statement that Rizzo was never beaten is wrong
