After waiting 2 years for Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton to fall for each other on Bridgerton we got………… this.
From extraneous storylines to horrendous costuming, there wasn’t as much to love in this s as on of Bridgerton as I hoped there would be. i thought i was the only one! Everyone keeps saying how good it was. Compared to season 2 this was trash. No lore. No flashbacks to their past, how they met, how whistle down started. They have the most history out of any 2 main love interest how do you not exploit that? No fluid progression into Colin falling in love. So bland and boring , So many useless side plots that i didnt care about. The whistle down reveal to Colin wasnt the big blow out i expected, So sad, 2years for this?
I’ve only seen people complaining about this season. People like it?? It was so yikes
@@Honey-rp6zx I think one of the reasons people like it more than season two is they do show the wedding, whereas they didn’t show the wedding in season two. Plus season two they just got stuck in longing.
They ruined both Francesca’s love stories with her reactions to the kiss and her meeting with Michaela 💔
Cressida crushing on Eloise would give a reason why she’s so vile to Penelope. She’s jealous of the relationship that Penelope has with Eloise.

They should have tied the Mondrich’s story to Benedict passing on the newly learned skills of running an estate. Plus it would give Benedict something to to.
They could have combined the two baron subplots into one by having the Mondriches' son be the only available male heir to the Featherington title. It's crazy they didn't think of that. Why would you have two plots about a kid inheriting a title of baron at the same time?
I don’t get all these people calling Penelope and Colin friends let alone best friends. I’ve seen them be friendly but nothing more. AND we never found out why he said what he said about never courting her.
Yeah we see Eloise and Benedict together more times than Pen and Colin. I hang with my bestie more than my sister. So the fact that the sibs have more screen time than the best friends is just sad

The mondriches could’ve been so interesting if we had a regency era suite life of Zach and Cody type storyline but instead we got a nothing burger

eloise has given me straight vibes for a while now, for francesca on the other hand i went 'that's the gay sibling' the moment she was on screen for the first time this season. I just also really loved Johns and her 'quite love' and I don't trust the show to handle this 3. person thing as interesting and well as i think they handled it with edwina
Could've made Francesca asexual and Eloise sapphic. It seems like they really have no idea what to do with these characters...
Cressida got done so dirty. It feels like her storyline was written for some mean-spirited, bully revenge fantasy and it doesn't sit right with me. They humanize her and show how desperate she is to avoid marrital SA and then punish her by banishing her with an abusive aunt. Like how did they expect us to feel? They made us sympathize with her and then punished her like a villain. No one cares about Cressida in the show itself and the writers room. It's so frustrating.
Eloise was my favorite character. I liked her storyline in season 2, I thought it was showing her the reality of her society. Eloise fucked around and found out. Season 3 would've been a great opportunity to show how she grew and changed from those experiences. But she does nothing this season except fence sit, it's so frustrating! It makes it really hard to like her when Cressida is begging her to help and Eloise just doesn't give a shit. I was so disappointed with her lack of direction or character development this season.
Francesca and John fought so hard to have their quiet love validated by everyone. Violet apologized for not seeing their love as valid and admitted she was wrong. For what? To have it all undone at the end. "JK, Violet was right all along! All that screentime we devoted to showing the two fall in love is no longer valid." Like huh???
I always thought of Eloise as being demi but not towards a particular sex. She could be with Theo, be with Cressida, be with Marina if Phillip died. Any of these works. Some poly combination even. They really sold out Eloise in the second half of this season. I don't mind Francesca being bi, but I loved her relationship with John and the two scenes towards the end that cast doubt on that were annoying.
I'm kind of hoping Cressida's aunt only acts like that so her brother and his wife don't visit her. I think it's interesting they're going to Wales, where the Ladies of Llangollen were, but I don't know how cognizant the showrunner is of that.
Colin and Penelope were the least of my problems regarding Season Three. My real issue was the Lady Whistledown arc and how it was resolved. I thought it was a shit show, especially by bringing Cressida Cowper into the plotline. And why did the new showrunner introduce the Michael/Michaela character so fucking soon? Couldn't she have waited until after Francesca became a widow, regardless of Michael/Michaela's gender? And Penelope never paid any real circumstances for her toxic column. After Seasons Two and Three, I have decided to give up on this series.
Literally all of this! Except that I never saw Eloise as Queer, she seems like the type of girl to get close with another girl, and that girl catches feelings for her and admitted her feelings and Eloise is like "oh i don't like you like that sorry" i seriously thought Cressida was going to admit her feelings for Eloise, and she was going to reject her in part 2 😭

Why are y'all romanticizing Cressida and Eloise's friendship? Cressida doesn't have real friends which made her desperate to keep her friendship with Eloise. She wanted to strengthen it but got jealous when Pen came back into the picture.
The Benedict F*-boy 3-way was the biggest waste of time... especially since next season will be Benedict's. Gay Eloise would have been a better choice than Michaela.
I loved part 1 but then part 2 happened and I’m like wtf happened. Where was polin I loved episode 5 and then I saw the signs in ep 6 how are you gonna name episode 6 romancing mister bridgerton and the main couple is barely in the episode lmao. Then it just got worse. We barely got Colin writing or him being jealous they was telling us not showing with him. Also I love Luke the actor that plays Colin but he had nothing to work with like the most he got was episode 7 and I’m so mad about that because I wanted more . Also how tf did we see ben have sex more than the main couple😭
At the end Colin published his book and he said pen helped him publish it but the problem is we didn’t see that that would’ve been so cute/good😭
Yeah that’s my problem with season three we follow Colin and Penelope for three seasons, I was all on board, and we got to see them be together one time to lose her virginity. After we told and shown brothel time! Then they took episode eight after they were finally married to assassinate Collins character. Which was really wrong to do to the actors.
Eloise has been self centered and a bad friend since day 1
There is a lot of conflicting things i hear about the screentime of polin, I think the problem isnt necessarily the time but the quality, like often it just feels kinda empty? I don't buy or am invested in their friendship at all and we all are very invested in the friendship between eloise and pen, so it's obviously possible. And we also could have bought colin feeling deeply betrayed way more if we had gotten them as kids promising each other that they would never have secrets or sth. And for colins other possible reason to be mad at pen, his insecurity: Benedicts confidence in his painting abilities has obviously been deeply shaken by the events of s2 so why the f do those two not talk about their insecurities in their arts? And also they managed to make the possibly most dramatic and breathtaking storyline of the reveal of lady whistledown so boring and annoying, like how?
Interesting insights. Current showrunner Jess Brownell was a writer on Bridgerton Seasons 1 & 2. She was at the helm of Season 3 production shooting in 2022. Did the other writers jump ship when she became showrunner? I am not sure Bridgerton will make it to Season 4. I exaggerate. There will be a Season 4 but I am not sure about Season 5 and so on. I am tired of them already and I don't think they have the right team in place to really dig in and come up with a quality show. It might be worthwhile to interview professionals to understand why does it take 2 years to produce an 8 episode show? Also, if Netflix is playing games, is it not time to re-invent production studios? Maybe Netflix should go back to focusing on streaming and let someone else do the production. I guess that is Shondaland? Well, maybe we need new Shondas.

I honestly thought the Mondrich storyline would tie into Lady Danbury’s story from QUEEN CHARLOTTE as she essentially went through the same experience of being thrust into nobility from being a TON commoner. It’s was a lost opportunity.
I also feel that Francesca had a beautiful story with John right until they introduced Michaela. Let her and John have their quiet love. John was Francesca’s soul mate & Michael was the love of her life. Both loves were real and deep, just different. This negates the beauty of that.
I too want Eloise and Cressida, and I can not fathom why they made Francesca interested in Michaela when Cressida and Eloise had already done all of the establishing work to be a great couple. Maybe Eloise can write to Cressida in the country, and we can switch Phillip out with Cressida.
And as for Benedict and his week long thruple… not necessary. If they were going to do this with Benedict then it should’ve been explored in early seasons to greater depth. He just comes out looking rather pathetic as it stands.
The second half of this season broke my heart. I had so many expectations for “Colin I LOVE MY WIFE Bridgerton”, and we got NONE of it. It’s insulting to Polin.
I liked season 3 but I’m still let down and disappointed.
As somebody who really relates to Penelope and honestly Penelope is my favourite character, I was so excited. Penelope is such an interesting and endearing character, like she really does have the foundation for an amazing main character. It was a bit of a let down. I really wanted to see Penelope and Colin fall in love, I wanted to see Colin falling for Penelope.
I didn’t like the ‘one kiss and I’m in love with you’ I really wished it would have been more like ‘didn’t know what I had until it was gone’. The storyline of Colin’s comment about never marrying Penelope was resolved so quickly and it honestly…that could have been a better love story than Penelope trying to get a husband. It would have been more interesting and cute if it was Colin trying to rebuild his friendship with Penelope and falls in love during the purpose. Like Penelope could have gained interest from men herself, with her trying to be braver and Colin gets jealous.
It’s a bit sad that fandom Colin is ten times written better than the Colin in the show.

i had such a problem with the eloise this season. she was so judgemental and apathetic to both cressedia and penelope. a very bold choice for a character who is in an unacknowledged extremely privileged position for the time period. it bothered me so much that she faced no repercussions or self reflection or ANYTHING for how much of a feminist girl boss she is while at the same time judging cressedia and Penelope for being backed into a corner and forced to make choices to do things she will NEVER have to do because of her family's money and status in the ton
I assume the season was split because Netflix is money hungry. That’s 2 months of a paid subscription for one of their most popular shows. They did it for Stranger Things too. I doubt the showrunners knew
One of the excuses that they said it takes so long is that they translated the show to multiple languages in comparison to other shows. I know there is a lot of moving parts but 2 years in between seasons is a lot specially when they are reusing a lot wardrobe(they added more details to existing gowns and reused material s to make some of the new ones of course they also did new outfits for pen and colin) and the props are done. But what I didn't like is that they hype up so much that they broke a furniture and it was a little part of a leg of the thing. The scenes were ok but they overhyped it so much that Instead of enjoying it I was waiting until the end for the really sexy scene and it never came. Also I feel they tried to hide her beautiful body and I don't mean her lady part but her tummy and back wich they didn't do to the other actress and we know Nicola looks good.

i was a super polin fan--i even bought a new tv to watch season 3--when i tell you i am beyond disappointment, i had to exit all my fan groups afterwards to control my rage, im over it thought, part one was pretty good, part two, god awful
@@monharris28 I hear you I’ve been team Polin and since season one. Not to mention, Penelope is my favorite character. My biggest disappointment was just the lack of passionate scenes like we’ve already seen in the longing we’d already seen the friendship we hadn’t seen was the passion and that was what it was lacking in part two. I think I would’ve preferred the original story before the rewrites in which column was more angry and they had angry sex, instead of what we got. Based on what I’ve heard, I would’ve preferred the episode of the streamer saw.
Oh I thought it was a great season! Much better love story in the sense that it's not based on passion as much as season 2 (and I personally didn't like the Duke of Hastings so season 1 was not my fav).
But someone in the comments mentioned that they could have added in more regarding their history, about whistledown etc and I agree. It's kind of the disappearance of whistledown and yet it didn't feel as big as it should have...
I agree with release the Snyder cut, it is quite clear. The streamers saw different episodes than we got, and I thought the same thing about the wig.
He found out she was Lady W at the end of episode 6, not episode 5. Just wanted to mention that.

So crazy to see such negative takes. I absolutely hated Season 2, so Season 3 is 180 degree turn (in the best way) for me.
@@scrappytracy5557 I agree with you 100% about season two, they just took too long to get the couple together for me. not to mention I just got annoyed with Kate continuing to be like I’m going back to India. In my opinion they just got lost and stuck in longing and never move the story forward till the last few minutes which is my problem with season three is episode eight they needed to move the story forward instead of him, shutting down and being cold after they had just done that for episode seven.
