So, in order to explain a bit more how French football works: 1) First tier is Ligue 1 - pretty easy to understand, top tier, 2 teams relegated at the end of the season, the 3rd one plays qualifications play-offs v 3rd team of Ligue 2 to know which team will play in L1. 2) Second tier is Ligue 2 - same principle, first 2 teams go up, 3rd one play the play-offs. Last 2 teams go down. Those two tiers are ruled by the LFP (French professional governing body.) -- Currently still with 20 teams, but will go to 18 from next season onwards. Under those, the FFF takes the lead (which is like the FA for France). And it's amateur level. 3) Third Tier is National - Semi-pro level. Same rules as Ligue 2 for a total of 18 teams. - Top 2 teams go up, 4 last teams go down. Then, we get into the fun part. 4) Fourth Tier is National 2 - Divided in 4 groups (but not according to the geography, because why?) for a total of 64 teams - Only the first team of each group goes up, 3 last teams of each group go down to N3. 5) Fifth Tier is National 3 - Divided in 12 (TWELVE) regional groups for 168 (A HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT) clubs - 1 team per group goes up to N2. Last 3 clubs of each group go down to Regional 1. 6) Sixth Tier is the one we're at - Regional 1 and that's the fun part! Each Regional 1 level competition is divided into Regional Districts and they basically can do whatever the heck they want. Once again, only 1 direct promotions. The rest will play in play-offs versus teams from other Regional 1's regions. And for the rest, it's almost a free-for-all. INSANITY as only we, the French, are able to do and understand.
"We're going to do sensible financial management" says Kev. Very easy to say when the club's amateur and has no wage budget. Let's see how long it lasts once financial antics actually become a possibility. Can't wait! 😁
Kev, your barcelona series reignited my love in fm and have been following your series since. I Started playing in fm15, but haven't really playing since fm16. But seeing what can be done in fm by roleplaying and giving yourself restrictions, the doors of possibility have been opened again. I would really love a copy of fm22, cuz i've been playing in fm16 so far. Keep up the good work!
Kev I have watched your videos during the FM 22 saves and I ended up buying FM 22 because of them. I have never owned an FM game in all my life and I didn't watch football, I might have been sad and not had a life...who knows. But, your videos popped up one day while I was browsing RUclips and I thought this is good and subscribed and have liked every video since...and I now am a proud owner of FM 22 and I have played roughly about 6 hours overall, the reason is that I am so hooked on your posts that I find myself watching FM 22 on RUclips instead of playing it through Steam. So, your posts have changed my life completely and I am now looking forward to this new addition to FM 22. My wife goes mad at me but I have locked myself away from her and told her to go and watch something like 'Downton Abbey' or 'The Crown' and to leave me in peace :-). And yes I would love a copy of FM 23 so that I have my plans set in stone for the foreseeable future and who knows I might get to play this one more. :-0 Keep up your great work because you like me Kev and all the Kevs' are stars *
I've always loved your one club saves Kev, really enjoyed the Apollon. Cant wait for this one to start, never realized Tours got so far down relegated. Seems like a proper save for anyone.
So glad Kev is doing this, my main save of FM22 is with a French club in the 4th tier, I picked them due to having ancestors that used to live in the town on my mom's side. It's been MANY seasons but I'm about to get them promoted to Ligue 1 finally, I'm glad French football is going to get a little bit of attention for once, it honestly is so underrated
Can't wait to go back on these promises and put all the transfers on the never never and then get relegated again next season for more financial problems - Looking forward to it!!
I've been watching your videos since 2019. I've not thought I would be enjoying watching and playing football manager games that long but your videos got me hooked. Good luck for this series. I'll look forward to this.
I really hope he adds the "No installments" stipulation, people were very vocal in the comments on the polls and think it would be a very fun idea, me included, so I hope he listened to the people, not just the results of the poll.
@@jacobpgood724 for the extra challenge, instead of being able to have 2 million and buy two players for 1 million plus installments, now he's forced to only be able to buy a player who's worth 2 million or less. It spices things up and I'd much rather have that than only French players, which is what won the poll.
@@sinful9347 the instalments would only happen once he got to Ligue 1. When he’s managed lower league teams in the past , he’s mostly done free transfers and loans until the club has moved up to the 2nd or third tier
Just discovered you a few weeks ago! Enjoying the content! I don't have any FM but have been enjoying everything I'm seeing! I'd gladly take whatever version I can get my hands on :)
This new series reminded me of a save I did a couple of years ago with Sedan Ardennes (now in the National, the French 3rd tier). A club with an interesting story and some prior success, but that had horrible management lately and ended up folding and dropping down a few tiers. Hope you have fun with the save, both Kev and the commenters!
I was contemplating starting a new save with Tours, but due to the abilities of my laptop and my free hours at least for the next 3 weeks (was a month a go so can add up to 7 weeks) I didn't but I've been searching for a Tours series for a few weeks so to have it available to watch on this channel is unbelievable. Hopefully we get to see you out-clause psg en route to toppling them
So unbelievably excited for this. There are few things I love more than the depths of French non-league football, and mispronouncing French words. This is going to be exciting. Also, while I wouldn’t say Tours is a football city in the way that Strasbourg or Marseille are, I don’t think it’s necessarily as not-football-friendly as Wikipedia says they are. I saw Tours FC in Ligue 2 in 16/17 and they had decent support from what I remember. Anyway, ALLEZ LE TFC !!!
As the very nice intro says, how perfectly set up is this series?! It's like the pandemic, the club, and the FFF all got together to create this amazing story. I remember your brief trip to Tours and am very excited for this one as well. My favorite series is Apollon, and I hope that Tours de France can bring some of that back. Obviously, there is a difference as you're in tier six instead of tier two and in a much bigger country in football terms, but I think it will be a good one. Here's to hoping you get the views to keep this series going strong and do more like this in the future as I like the varied, different stuff. (I was a loyal viewer of the Chivas series.) Cheers and good luck!

I had pretty low expectations with this new series, but you managed to make it quite interesting I have to say. Also loved the intro narration!
Good luck on the new series, this is my 4th year of watching someone infinitely better than me at FM and I’m consistently entertained. Probably better I don’t win the 22 time sink but if I must I must….
Super excited for this. The lower leagues are always the most fun parts of a save, tbh, and I've never managed in France in any of my time playing FM, so excited to see what France is like.
Started a fm21 after watching your non league to legend. Dont know how you get through seasons so fast! A transfer window takes me weeks to get through, let alone a season. Thanks for the great content.
Can't wait for more of this, it's going to be a good one! I am managing in the Danish lower leagues in my playthrough on my channel and being an Amature side is hard. Every season you lose your best players and have to start again with finding people to fill the gaps.
Let’s all do a football tour…… I can’t wait for this new series, it’s a great concept and I love the “transfer” rules being set up with it. Keep up the good work kev!
Very intrigued by this one. Oddly enough, watching Football Manager video is what I have on while I am on my stationary bike. So glad I have something to watch to keep me going.
Loved watching the Non-League to Legend series and just the opening of this video (and series) is awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with the club.
Hey Kev, I recently just stumbled upon your channel a couple of weeks ago and I have binged almost the entirety of Non-League to legend. Excited to be caught up with the channel and watch the series as it comes out live!
A small tip if you want to avoid loosing good players or prospects on amateur contracts, offer a new contract but set the start date for the end of the season and the player will sign a pre-contract to start the new contract, at the end of the season meaning no other club can bid for the player till the new contract is signed
Hey Kev! The playoffs are for the other regions. You can check it in the left side of the league structure page when u click on any playoffs it shows the name of the region. Your region doesnt have a playoof, just 3 automatic promotions Looking forward for this new series
I've still not got FM22 I played the free weekend and started a Darlington town save and would love to get that up and running. Cheers for the great content.
Wasn't enthusiastic about this particular save idea, but the intro changed my mind & I am now intrigued. Not much hope for many of current players to still be at the club for the first league game in August, definitely doubt that defender wanted by the likes of Paris FC or Niort.
I'm so excited for this, I recently did a save of 15 years with Red Star FC and it was rly fun to finally defeat PSG and win the CL. I always love doing a save in France, great youth intakes, shitty finances and a hella lotta buffoonery. I hope u enjoy the journey!
Cant wait for this series ! I loved the previous one and especially loved ending with my favourite team Dortmund ! Love from Greece ! Also cant wait for FM23 already :D
Looking forward to this series just for the amount of times Kev's pronouncation of just about everything will be complained about in the comments section
Somehow the comment I wrote yesterday didn't get posted? Weird. Really loved the intro to this series! Looking forward to watching Kev knock off PSG! And would love a copy of FM23. :)
excited for this save! was not able to watch the non-league to legend save due to college but now that I am done for a few months I can catch up on that save while watching this save daily! Hope I can win a copy of FM23! hard times being in college so not having to worry about saving up money for the new FM game would be great haha. hope the save goes well!

looking forward to it kev!
