I tried this method and it worked very well! Usually I'd meditate for 15 - 20min before my posture becomes too unbearable. But with this method I reached a 30min milestone!
People are seen meditating with fancy postures which mostly are not possible in reality for longer, or even meditating for 10 minutes with those postures will be impossible. You have explained and demonstrated very well and I hope this meditation posture will help me to sit longer comfortably. Thank you.

The tip of turning our soul upwards is a very good one. I had been doing burmese position for 2 months now but never catched this small tip myself, thank you for showing me this.
I’m glad I slogged through the left ear favouritism this was pure gold. 2 and a half years of meditating and I just unlocked a new level of sitting, and I never even realised I wasn’t even comfortable before.
You look very natural with this and explain it very well, unfortunately it’s not working for me. The foreword part of the ankle of the inner leg drives into the floor with a great deal of force, and it’s super painful. My knees are lower than my hips, but with difficulty. I’ll keep working at it as it makes sense, but boy it’s tough! Cheers and thanks, jz

I had no clue that a person is supposed to sit on a pad or cushion. My knees and ankles have always hurt while I was meditating. To the point where I only lay down to meditate. I am excited to try this👍👍👍
@@arjunraj835 Can be tough to maintain when done in longer periods of time. Try alternating your ankles and also stretching them out before doing them.
I don't know how long I have been doing yoga, and sitting cross-legged is always a challenge. I find it strains my thighs for some reason. I can't wait to try this. I have never had it explained quite so well. Thank you so much!
Thought I was becoming somewhat flexible until I found this video 1 realized I’ve been meditating wrong lol and 2 Man the pain I couldn’t get past the first principle time to get a proper cushion

Thank you for the tutorial. Sitting crosslegged when going beyond 25+ mins was becoming painful. It feels great when your body naturally aligns naturally in this position.
Be glad you got going as soon as you heard about it. Your doing great by virtue of that. I ultimately procrastinated it for a decade, b/c I do have tight hips, and thought any cross-leggedness wouldn't work.vand chairs just aren't working for me with neutral spine. Just had some poor attempts at starting here and there. Never really knew about this one, which I kind of discovered after some trial and error this year.
@@GotROM Yes and no, just not in this kind of seated position. I've sat upright with my head floating one time and back against the wall and was just barely able to enter the astral plane for a few seconds.
The way I've been doing it is to just kneel down on the right leg and get it in position, then sit down and tuck the other leg in. It helps with a miniscus issue I have. Still tweaking the posture but it's getting better.

the KNEES! thats exaclty what i was missing! i follow guidede meditations from boho beautiful on youtube and she kept syaing the posture should feel relaxed but upright and i couldnt get upright without putting alot of tension in my back muscles! its because i was working against my knees being lifted (hips arent yet very flexible) which tilted me back inadvertently! now i put a lil cushion under my bum and wahlah! this is upright and comfortable! thank you ! lol

Grest video as always man!! I also ended up with the burmese position, on a bolster. It's the most sustainable asset, expecially if you go to a vipassana retreat...Anyway, thanks for your videos. They are always a source of inspiration for me.
Thanks, man. :-) Bolster is good stuff. You may notice a subtle difference with the cushion in this video due to the shape. You can get your feet a little more underneath yourself vs. a bolster.
