Here's a couple cheeky upgrades no one will expect, Order of the Sacred Torch and Stromgald Cabal (Available for about $.40 each). These are knights that you can tap (and pay 1 life) to counter a black or white spell respectively. They're a little narrow BUT white and black are THE colors for removal and boardwipes which makes these two VERY useful. Surprise your opponents by COUNTERING their Path to Exile or Toxic Deluge... with a KNIGHT.^^ If you felt like splurging a bit you could throw in a Drumbellower ($3, untaps your creatures every turn) to keep untapping them and available to counter even more stuff.^^
@@edhjankcenter They're from Ice Age. Also I would be remiss if I did not suggest White Knight and Black Knight from Alpha. A 2/2 with First Strike and Protection for 2 is still quite solid.
"Sister of Silence" is a Knight that can counter not only Instants and Sorceries, but also activated and triggered abilities. If you play instant speed reanimation, you could surprise summon one with it while its in your Graveyard
Definitely would add Myriad effects like ‘Legion Loyalty’ and ‘Blade of Selves’ in EDH so that when you take big swings you get the whole table! ‘Blacklance Paragon’ is fun in aggro Knights… and the new Battle ‘Invasion of New Phyrexia’ was made for this deck!
Dauntless bodyguard is cheap, a knight, and protects an important card for you. Marshal of Zhalfir for about a quarter is a 2 mana 2/2 that gives other knights a +1/+1. Rogue's Passage is always a nice way to use extra mana to sneak through the commander to trigger his ability.
I included Spirit Mantle and Unquestioned Authority in my upgrade. Great budget cards that give protection from creatures, making sure you get them sweet sweet Sidar triggers...or hit them with the biggest knight available 🤘
@@edhjankcenter Thanks. Invasion of New Capenna is also nice and cheap. It's decent enough removal on the front and flipped into Holy Frazzle-Cannon it pumps the board with every swing.
it's just a clarifying statement. there are cards in magic that will say things like "target opponent loses 5 life" and there are other cards that will say "____ deals 5 damage to target opponent". both of these effects cause life to be lost, and thus will trigger Knight of the Ebon Legion's ability. semantics matter alot in mtg, so sometimes clarification is needed! hope this helped!
