It’s the bane of my existence! Not only does it take hours of research to make any decision, but after the newness of something wears off I start questioning my decision and throwing away all my progress. The tiniest thing can make me go back to the drawing board and trash my research, artwork, planning and projects. It’s a very self destructive cycle. Im glad you’re making content. It’s really nice to feel less alone, when everyone else you know is neurotypical.

I suck big time at making decisions, and then if I do make them, following through is even harder. Not just small decisions, but big ones are especially challenging for me, often leading to ADHD paralysis. I can't decide what career to pursue, where to live, or if I want a relationship with someone, even if I love them. It's just so exhausting to live like this. It took me 2 years to buy curtains to my apartment because I couldnt decide which one I want so I endeed up just delaying to have to make the decision. And everyday I felt bad for it. Why cant i just buy curtains like all other people? Why?
I always wondered why it's like this for me, but then I received my ADHD diagnosis, and now it makes sense. This is what we have to deal with. I think this might actually be the hardest thing to live with. It's like you don't know what the hell you really want with your life and then you end up living in a paralysis where you cant live a fulfilling life. And then you have to follow when other people just go on with their lives and dont necessarily think at all about things that might be so damn stressful for us. Also thanks for your videos its important and a huge help to see the experiences of other ADHD people.

I find since starting a professional job 4 years ago now I always spend extra time to make a decision but I really have to try it to be impulsive.

Is that what you have found works best for you? Allowing extra time?

@@ollieedward643 to put it in context I work as a mental health nurse in the community so unless it’s a matter of immediate live or death I’ve learned to take a step back before making decisions and seeking advice if I am not sure. Unfortunately I’ve had to learn this the hard way 😂😑

Really good video! I never knew this was a symptom I just thought it was me! Just hoping to find a way to make decisions on the spot, because I HATE trusting my gut because my mind recognises the fact it’s an instinct and makes me question my original gut feeling… I’ll definitely try your advice though!
