Great to see it running again! Any plans to rip that crappy mixer ring lpg system off and fit something better like an impco 425 or even vapor injection setup?
Vapour injection is excellent. Though that system won’t restrict performance on petrol as there is no mixer on the intake, so the performance loss would only be noticeable when using gas.
That gold W6 color has to be one of my favorites have a AU Ghia in the same color factory sunroof..that 5.0 liter Windsor sounding the goods Mark with the new up grades job well done

Still reckon an au 5.0 fairlane is one of the best dailies you can have… My old one did 15.3 with the only “mod” being a full exhaust. So they’re not fast, but not as slow as many reckon. Doesn’t take much to make them a low 14 sec car and for a daily that’s awesome fun.

Nice mate, great choice! Don’t overlook buying a duel fuel car, a lot of people hate on the LPG but we have it on almost all of our fords and it’s seriously so much cheaper too run! We drove the 6cyl AU Wagon over to Canberra, towing the Torana… 1700km and only spent around $400 in fuel! And the NC 5.0 done over 450km on one tank coming back from Naracoorte! Good luck!

So I'm wondering if you've replaced the cam with a mild performance selection ,wouldn't you have also upgraded & replaced the lifters and also roller rockers for compatibility and fresh metal in metal wear ? And would need a cold air intake fuel rails ,injectors upgrade for the revised cam ,for fuel / air mix. Did you need to c/ o the air sensor ?
Took my AU V8 Wagoon for a swim 3 weeks ago in Auckland, no internal worries. Sprayed th shit out of it with WD40 after. AU intake up high on Falcons suprised you had probs, great job to get good!
That sounds so good bro.. They are very underrated and love a bit boost in them too (pro charger).. the j3 plus tune will be the icing.. I’m guessing 160/180rwkw when tuned.. my girl drives the XR6T like she’s dick Johnson, god help us when the Windsor stroker is in the EF Monty.., urs looks like one happy wifey now.. woman that support us men in our car addiction is very rare, I found one kept her around for the last 18y years..
I’ve heard a spray of graphite on fresh lobes can help with break in - helps the lube stay in place a tad over steel alone , and also it’s best to use softer springs on a fresh cam to take the pressure off the lobes , nothing worse than wiping a new cam lobe on startup 😡
Hey mark I have a healthy 5 Ltd that could do with a bit of a tougher idle. So I didn’t see you do anything to the heads(I may have missed that part) mines got standard rockers not rollers, so my question is, is that just a cam change, no change in lifters or rocker gear?

5.0 Windsor Engines which Auto Transmissions perform well on it? The Auto Trans which FORD provided back in 90;s and Early 2000's were hopeless on the 5.0 Windsor. Love the Grunt on the Cammed V8.
@@TheIronEmpire yes, there was a bit of back and forth with emails. In the end I had to return it unfortunately. That was about 5 years ago so perhaps things are different now. If your AC functions OK (not stuck on etc) then let us know.

Thank goodness for roller cams. Them low revs on initial start up would have surely knocked a lobe off a flat tappet or hydraulic one. Well done.

Sounds great. Are you going with the J3 chip to override the Smartshield? I have an issue with my Fairmont V8 wagon relating to Smartshield.

Can be disabled using a J3 if you're having issues. We also sell an AU compatible scan tool if you need to re-pair a new ECU to your keys/barrel.

Was that a flat tappet cam or roller if it was a flat tappet your supposed to run them in.
These late model Windsors are Hydraulic Roller
Sounds great. I did try a TI chip on my AU V8 but had AC issues. Apparently it's a thing.
