MENASO Education Academy Cerebrovascular Grand Round, 20 June 2023
The 6th chapter of the great Cerebrovascular Grand Round Webinar 2023, held under the auspices of the MENA STROKE Organization, American Stroke Association, and World Stroke Organization, and supported by Boehringer Ingelheim and Medtronic, was a descriptive session that provided comprehensive education about Recurrent ischemic stroke and Challenges in Stroke Care and Treatment Outcomes. 465 delegates from 30 countries around the world have benefited from this webinar. It was conducted in a very organized and effective manner and the attendees were rewarded with 2 CME hours, accredited by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Suhail Abdulla Alrukn, President of MENASO and Consultant Neurology at Rashid Hospital, UAE, has appointed Dr. Mohamed Alzawahmah, Vascular Neurology Consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Gen. Org.), Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Maria Khan Junaidi, Stroke Neurologist at Rashid Hospital, UAE, General Secretary of MENA Stroke Organization, and Member Board of Directors, World Stroke Organization, as chairmen of the webinar.
The expert speaker’s panel includes Dr. Jeyaraj Durai Pandian, MD DM FRACP FRCP FESO FWSO FIAN FANMS, Principal (Dean) and Professor of Neurology at Christian Medical College Ludhiana, Punjab, India, and President-Elect, World Stroke Organization, and Dr. Wan Asyraf, Stroke Neurologist at National University of Malaysia (UKM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Maria Khan Junaidi delivered the opening remarks and welcomed all to the session. She introduced the co-chair Dr. Mohamed Alzawahmah and invited him to introduce the speakers and moderate the lectures.
The first session was presented by Dr. Jeyaraj Durai Pandian, where he explained ‘Developing Stroke Clinical Trial Networks: Lessons learnt from Indian Stroke Clinical Trial Network (INSTRuCT)’. Dr. Wan Asyraf has presented a talk on ‘Stroke Cases Treatment assisted by CT perfusion’.
Dr. Maria Khan Junaidi and Dr. Mohamed Alzawahmah moderated the interactive Q&A session. They along with the speakers expressed their appreciation and thanked the attendees for their participation.
