- The women's Around the Block Hoodie Sewing Pattern is funky and on trend. It features angled color blocked bodice and sleeves. The wrap around hood with cord detail is the perfect touch! You will love how you feel in it! I fell in love with this design like so many of my testers and I hope you will love this pattern as much as I do.
Includes sizes XXS - 4XL.

Thank you. I love the way you sew and your mistakes on your pockets which always happens to me! Now I know how to do this and it’s almost cut out and ready to sew. I’ll post when I’m done.
Happy accidents are where learning and creativity collide! Love ur videos!
Terah Stearns, I am so glad it helped! Happy Sewing!
This is my favorite video. You not only showed how to sew the hoodie, you also showed what we all go through when sewing, mistakes and all.
synthia l Gerritson in glad you enjoyed it!
"I don't hide my flaws, I embrace them," I have to use that one. LOL Thanks for the video.
I love your coordinations.. for the top that you are wearing, I would have never thought to split the back only in 2. ❤ I just cut up all the pieces for the blocked hoodie. I chose black/red (colors for my son’s school, I plan to wear it to his games 🎉)
Love your hooded sweatshirt...the colors are beautiful💜 Great tutorial...you keep it real😊
It is going to my first time doing a book pattern and thank you for your suggestions about keeping the pattern attached to the fabric. That is the way it has to be.... if we do not want to undo :)
I want to say Thank you
I had so much fun with the sew along 😀
You are so welcome!
I couldn't stop laughing at this one!! Yelling at you seam ripper bobo undoer lol. You make sewing fun!!!

OH MY GOSH u are so funny and real. thank you. :) we have all been there!
I am so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Awesome hoodie! You made it look so easy.
Have made two of these and your video was very helpful.
Thank you for your easy to follow videos. So reassuring. 😁
Awwww we never got to see you wearing it 😊
I can’t believe u did the whole thing with the serger. I’m afraid to just use the serger because I’m afraid it will come apart so it takes me twice as long. Would love to know where u got your fabric. Absolutely love it. Great tutorial. Thanks
Love this pattern. I just downloaded it. It is my first Ellie and Mac pattern. Hope I dont mess up the front of the hoodie. Will post on face book!
You downloaded it?? How?
Suggestion for you ...Try butting the seams up against one another that is the way I was taught to do seams when I want to match (one side would point down one up then butt them together)
Bought it last night, excited to make it! I may have to wait until black friday though when I get a serger. It will go so much faster!
Sergers are live changing!!! Can’t wait to see what you create!
Good directions!!!!!
I made this one. Perfect fit
I am so glad you loved it!
Just found E&M patterns , I'm a complete novice , I love the print out it is so easy not having to trim , this is the 3rd tutorial I have watched with Dianne , they are fab, so easy to follow . Just a suggestion .... it would be lovely to know what fabric you are using for each tutorial so I know what to look for , I know it is mentioned on the pattern but it is lovely to see it made up
Great idea! Thanks so much!
great tutorial ... a big like and a happy weekend ...ann sander
Same to you’
I forgot to ask you where you got your fabric love the color combo, great job
so helpful, thank you......
Yaaaas bought it! But the grommets scare me too. Hope the kids version will follow soon. #Twinning4Ever
I was so scared of them but it wasn’t bad at all!! I can’t wait for a kids version. I also love matching my son!
Love what you do!! Which top are you wearing in this video
Thank you!! I am wearing the 24/7 Top ❤️
SEEM RIPPER!😂🤣😂🤣 Okay I feel better now. Lol
I love This ! But, I would like a French Tutoriel for Around the block Hoodie pleaseeeeeee !! Thank you
Merci!!!beaucoup
Is there any way to show the actual sewing up close? Darling choices of fabrics!
You did this whole thing on a serger???? That’s cool:)
Trying this one today. I don't have grommets, so it'll be a bit different.
Hi SusanMadison, I just made button holes where it called for Grommets and it worked perfectly! In my opinoin :)
Where did you get the fabric for the top you are wearing? Such awesome videos, so informative!
hmmm?
Another question regarding size: i just measured myself. I’m 32.5 in bust. 28 in waist. 35 in hip. What size pattern should i use? I’ve always found i’m not the regular female body type... should i get xs, s or medium? My size is a bit of each it seems... thx in advance.
What’s the name of that sewing machine? I notice my dad uses it to hem my pants and it leaves a clean ditch pattern thing. Is that what it does or what else can it do
Enjoy your videos and would like to see the pattern at beginning of video and spend more time showing the finished product and some closeups of the neck, hood, etc
Thank you for your suggestions!!
I'm struggling with serging on the pockets. The beginning of the pocket and the end are wonky for me. Are there any tips to serging the pockets?
What size of hoodie did u make? Think i m close to your size...
Hello: Can I use the cowl from the Be Creative hoodie on this Around the Block hoodie instead of making a hood?
yes you can!
Seam ripper... or the reverse sewing tool 😂
What base of fabric did you use ?
Hi! I’m new to sewing so I’m interested in which fabric you chose for this hoodie and what alternatives you may recommend. Thank you x
For this hoodie I used French Terry but you can also use a Double Brushed Poly or Cotton Lycra.. anything with a good stretch and recovery. It really all depends on what look you are going for. If you look at our patterns, there is suggested fabric to use with each as well as how much stretch you need and such. :)
Thank you
How do you lay the pattern pieces out to cut. I don't understand what "mirror" means
Mirrored means that you will cut one piece with the pattern piece facing up and one with the piece facing down so that the pieces are mirrored to each other.
4 years later, I watch and say, seam ripper, seam ripper, SEAM RIPPER. 😂😂😂
Lol

Dommage que la caméra est loin du tissu, rapprochez donc la caméra plus près de vos main lorsque vous manipulez le tissu, et il faut aussi rapprocher le camera quand vous cousez! Dommage. Moi je vois fien.
