Fantastic idea!! I just bought a Wagner steam stripper from Amazon for $65.00 and it will be delivered tomorrow! Thank you again for such a simple idea and a job that i kept procrastinating about doing!! Now i can not wait to finally defrost my freezer for more storage space!! 😃👌
Great idea just purchased a steamer to try it out, my freezer was in a worst state than yours so it took me a good hour to de frost mine, if you put the bucket on the lowest shelf it collects quicker because the melted ice drops on each shelf melting on its way down (just a little tip maybe) but thanks. Think I may de frost more often
I just did this today and thought I'd check on here to see if anyone had already had this idea... :) I found it worked even better if you close the freezer up as much as possible and use tea-towels to seal the gaps.
great method just watch out not to overheat the elements / tubes in there. allthough its turned off ,there is still highly expansive gas in there. cutting off electricity will only stop the pump from turning on. so getting the elements TOOO hot wont be great.
My freezer had thick layers of ice and this method just worked a treat. Saved me loads of time, many thanks!

Brilliant tip. Worked a treat, BUT do switch off the power to the freezer during the operation
That’s a great idea. Crazily enough I just bought a steamer last week. I’m so glad I found your video!
