My grandparents had this movie on VHS and I watched it so much in the 90s when I was staying at their place. I have fond memories of these times. My grandparents passed away in 2006 and 2022 and I really miss my grandfather, who passed in 2006. I'll never forget him and this video brings back lovely memories, so thank you so much for uploading ❤

Por favor cuéntanos más,me gustaría saber sobre la protagonista Claudia Corday,me puse a buscar en internet sobre ella pero al parecer no hay mucha información de su carrera. Es la primera vez que veo esta versión y me gustó mucho,toda la producción y bailarines son excelentes!

Two lesser known and definitely under appreciated dance talents... Claudia Corday and Eileen Elliot both shine in this comedic romp, cleverly disguised as a quasi-ballet production. It is thoroughly entertaining, even if the score has been fiddled with some... it still does justice to the storyline and the orchestrations of the "normal" versions. Personally I never seen a better performance of 'Coppelia' than the Royal Ballet with Leanne Benjamin and Carlos Acosta... for me it is the standard to which all others are compared. A very close second to it is the Louisville Ballet's rendition reset to the Louisville, Kentucky city scene, in the days just prior to World War II. But back to Corday & Elliot et al... a great video... I watch it 2 or 3 times a month here on RUclips... still trying to locate a decent recording to make my own. If you enjoy ballet that engages you on all levels I recommend this one.
I have a VHS edition from 1987 which is slightly different. The opera singer diesn5 feature and only the flamenco dancer and some scenes in mine are shorter so thus is a real treat. I studied ballet for 15 years till I was 20 & wanted so badly to study at Elmhurst but was not to be. Claudia Corday was my inspiration. She was the perfect Swanhilda.
Long ago I found this wonderful Walter Slezak film character the mad inventor, and the whole genre of this ballet makes ones heart and soul just finally when low, sort of bring back one to old film, with delightful scenes music costume. Seen as a child one wishes for all the lifetime for dance even as death overtakes us. Music dance art enliven???
