I read an interview with Voris Dixon and he talked about how difficult it was to make the dyes to put the power bend in the bars. Another awesome build!
I own two sets of those bars one chromemoly and one aluminum love the build… kid I knew up the street had one, was always jealous of it….Great job!Yet again!!!😎🤙🏽
Last time I tried to identify my Powerlite I couldn't quite find a match. My ex-wife pulled it from someone's curbside trash can back in... '01-ish? Just a frame, fork, Powerbend bars and 1pc crankset...with a rusty chain and broken brake stud. Also had the black Powerlite seat post camp. I swapped the bars with a neighbor for some lavender jobbies that share the anodized look as the frame's green (anodized?) aluminum and had the brake boss helicoiled at my local shop. Years later I was building a bike for my son so I hopped back on my project and threw a black, 3pc (Blacklabel?) crankset on with black Blacklabel pedals, a purple chain and green and purple cable housings (green on the front part, purple on the rear portion) and a black Tektro vee brake I probably had laying around. You make me want to go all out with this thing.
That was my bike! '83 (I think) chrome with red bars, red Z rims, red dia-comp break levers and break cable and red KKT lightning pedals. Oh yeah...red Oakley 3 grips! God I loved that bike!
Turned out really nice! The rims looks like it could use some more cleaning. How long does it actually take you from start to finish? I don't mind watching your process. You can always time-lapse the process. We can always skip it if we don't want to watch the process.
Looks great. What seat would you recommend for cruising my 24” Bmx mainly around the neighborhood with my kids. Nothing crazy expensive but something that fits the retro vibe and is comfortable. Decided to get back into the Bmx scene. Loved riding 24/7 when I was a kid. The seat the bike came with is extremely uncomfortable . Thnx in advance
Nice build bro! Stem is popping! Thsoe bars are cool, felt weird at first but i was riding my friends 83 GT Expert and it grew on me,now i dig them. The bike looks pretty light too. .I got a Deck you dont have back there. Per Welinder Nordic Skull. I love that T and C surf designs board from the NES game cover,so RAD.👍
I had a Powerlite that would have been around 1980-82 chrome w/ gold rims yellow/black checked pads Im from Orange Ca. where just a few miles from wher Peddle Power was unfortunately mine was stolen I know there's a pic of it the day i got it ill have to find that pic
Great build looks totally 80s and that’s always cool
Super sick! Powerlite is my favorite bicycle. Simple, easy and clean.
Sean another gorgeous build brother!!! This is why we all come back for more!!! Keep it ụp absolute perfection!!! Stay RAD 🤟🏻🇬🇧
Thanks! Will do!
This one is now mine. Thanks Sean. You are the man
I appreciate it Rick 👊

Thank you so much
Turned out great! Nice work on the polishing! I’d like to see a little bit of stuff like that maybe a tip/trick or two for light restorations.
Noted!
The neck came out great. Looks good!
Another great build saved!!
Glad you enjoyed it

Try Ronsinol lighter fluid for removing stickers! Works great! Nice job, I want that bike now!
Thanks for the tip!
Try and swap out that brake for an Odyssey Bulldog. Fits the year and is a sick brake!
Amazing transformation! 😍
Thank you!! 😊

Some of us like to see the process bits 😜
Keep up the good work.
Fair enough!
That's sick! Comfortable bend on those bars? That candy blue Hutch os my favorite but this bikes pretty sick!

Add pads and number plate
Didn’t you see the number plate at the end of the video?
Nice!

@5:47, I had that Madrid skateboard.
Interesting, I never even heard of them. Powerlite
Been around since the 70s
@RadBMXBuilds That's interesting not sure how they got under my radar. I guess we were more white bread in my neighborhood l o l

It took about 2 hours of polishing and an hour to remove all the decals and rust
I have this same frame in chrome og decals and all .
Looks great.

I’d look for something with some thin padding
👍🔥
Looks great! I really dont mind the yellow decals as I think of that logo when i think of Powerlite.
Curious which cranks you used?
Some no name brand.
