      I have 6 of the lower end Jackson models. A JS22-7 string, 3 King V's, a Kelly, and a Warrior. The latter 5 with the Jackson branded Floyd. No issues whatsoever. The trems work great. No fret sprout. Pickups sound decent although that may be the only i change on them.

    I have the Rhoads V version of this guitar. The JS / Mahogany string through model. I do love the Warrior shape as well. It's one of the best balancing shapes imo. Great video!

      Thanks so much man! I've got the drive to upgrade a cheaper guitar from your channel, and a lot of the info from Guns And Guitars that I found through your guys' collab! :D
      I have a friend selling a beat-up js32 king V, I'm considering buying it and turning it into a Rhoads V, might be crazy as I'll probably have to cut through the electronics cavity xD
      Maybe you could tell me if this might be impossible?

    • @GuitarMAXMusic
      @GuitarMAXMusic 2 года назад +2

      @@BedroomGuitarHero I think you would cut into the cavity... but you could do a *reverse* Rhoads V, like the Carvin / Kiesel Ultra V, with the shorter horn on top?

    • @BedroomGuitarHero
      @BedroomGuitarHero  2 года назад +3

      @@GuitarMAXMusic yeah I was expecting to cut into the cavity and somehow patch up the missing wall. An even messier issue would be cutting through the tone pot hole...
      Hmm the reverse idea is a good shout, I'll see how the measurements are looking when I get the guitar, thanks! :D

    fixing that nut is very easy. all you need is 400 grid sand paper and wrap a little on the string and sand the slots on a slant angle towards the head stock

Also comparing to another jackson guitar and actually playing on the guitar was cool too. Can confirm a bit about some of the jackson hardware. Unless u buy a really high end jackson guitar, its like not the best but not the worst. I had an archtop for a beater guitar for a while, and its honestly a great guitar i would reccomend to anyone, but upgrade the bridge and nut because they both broke pretty fast for me (about 1-2 years still, but i mean thats not bad for this pricepoint, and they are not expensive upgrades) this guitar is essentially the same as the archtop series but with different pickups and body styles, and they are a definite buy

    For anyone, of any playing level buying a fixed bridge JS series guitar.....You must absolutely budget for a nut replacement. Do NOT buy one of these models without planning to replace the nut. The cheap nut material, questionable slotting and extreme string break angle with Jackson's 6-inline headstocks will absolutely cause sticking.
    Secondary would be a fret dress, set up and tuner upgrade. 2 of my 3 JS series guitars required fret end work due to fret sprout. Beyond that, basic fret dressing and set up will really bring out the instruments potential. This is always a shortcoming with " budget" guitars since fret work is a time consuming and costly part of manufacturing.
    The stock electronics are workable. Especially for less tonally experienced players. My examples exibited little to no extranious noise and the stock pickups, controls and wiring are decent.
    The stock hardware is also decent, but I would recommend a tuner upgrade. The stock tuners are on the low end and exibit slop, backlash and inconsistent feel. Upgrading to a good set of locking tuners will improve tuning stability. And they make restrings quick and hassle free.

      I usually take a thicker guage string than intended for the slot and file it with the string, put some pencil graphite in the slots and it works well, however a new nut is ideal

      Hey there I've got a jackson js32 dinky as it is the same guitar except the body.
      I say with any Jackson product have a good look at it and pay more attention as Jackson QC is pretty bad nowadays but there are still some good examples you just have to look for them.
      Especially as a beginner do not get a floyd rose as they are cheap pieces of crap. It is just a big pain and as a beginner that's the last thing you need.
      Try playing the guitar you may find the body style is a bit awkward to play as your learning but that may not be a problem is it is down to preference
      Other than that Jacksons are awesome guitars beginner or experienced. Good luck man
