    The Volante never fails to surprise me with the Sound-on-Sound mode. And in a live setting it's astoundingly simple to use. A must have for any drum or tape style delay enthusiasts.

    The Volante is the single most useful tool I own. PERIOD. You can get sounds like any other delay pedal or it can get totally washed out almost like a weird reverb. The SOS looper is the only thing on the market that is getting close to the real sound of Frippertronics or as Riley put it time-lag accumulation. It's pure and amazing. No swapping algorithms or staring at a computer. Just a solid intuitive ambient machine.

    Man, this is a deep pedal. I use midi to access the presets as departure points for working with the effect into my writing approach. This pedal running in stereo is super dimensional. The ability to control particular variables to the left and right of the stereo spectrum, along with the knobs that mimic the mechanics and wear of drum and tape makes for a complete pedal that reaches far and wide for any conscious sound designer. I've owned mine for years and still find new discoveries.

    I love the Volante, not only is it an incredible tape/drum delay but also has the beautiful reverb and SOS looper so you really get a lot from it and all very useful and usable!

    In my opinion, yes, it worth the hype. Amazing machine. A lot of inspiration from it.

    Older video I know, but I found it very helpful in deciding to buy this pedal. Your examples were accessible and practical and I went forward with a pretty significant purchase. Thank you…I genuinely appreciate it.

    I got one soon after I became aware of it. No plans to let it go anytime soon (or ever). I have it as an always on with a simple short delay and short spring verb with several other presets for specific use cases. As a Gilmour fan I was all over it and have not been disappointed. I’m sure I’ve not explored half of its capabilities yet.
    And on the spring verb I do think it’s good. I’m not usually a big spring fan and can’t claim to have exhaustive knowledge of all the options available but it is very sweet and can be quite subtle in terms of “springy” characters.

    The Spring reverb on these is awesome. I won't say that it is dripppppy, but.... I've turned it on right beside one of my amp's reverb and could not tell the difference. Actually, the Volante reverb may have sounded better. I am going to grab another one in the future.. Well worth it, if anyone is wondering.

    I think the Volante is a great pedal and a fantastic choice if you want those specific drum echo sounds, but its not for me. Pedal is too big for a single effect,I don't like spring reverb (though its not as good as Source Audio's spring or EHXs to my ears.) and I want something that isn't really emulating anything. Hence why I own an H9, a Zoia and a Poly Beebo. If I buy another delay it will probably be a Meris Polymoon because even though I have built a multiple tap delay with input saturation, pitch shifting a flanger and phaser in Beebo, being able to twist knobs and get a sound quickly without using Midi is sometimes necessary.

    • @kylebichler2258
      @kylebichler2258 2 года назад

      Polymoon? Really? I don’t think you know how to use the volante

    • @peterjessop1878
      @peterjessop1878 2 года назад

      @@kylebichler2258 The Polymoon is more of a multi effects pedal compared to the Volante and I have built Zoia and Poly beebo patches that mimic the Polymoon pretty well, though it still maybe nice to have it as a stand alone pedal. I already can do pretty much everything the Volante can with my existing choice of pedals if I need them to and as I mentioned its too big.

    I had the strymon Volante it was a great pedal especially for tape delay! But I found myself needing something more with easy way to access presets since I played for more than one church. And ended up trading it for a timeline.

      I just picked one of these up but for reasons you stated I don’t think it might find it’s way on my church board which is already crowded with H9 and Collider. I see myself using it for recording and with my Moog and other synths as well.

    'Ave I got some good news for you! On Thomann at least today, I see the Volante for Great Britain for £ 305. Don't ask me why: it should be more and maybe by the time you read this it will cost you £ 355, since I think that's what it should be, but still that would be less than the £ 400 you mentioned.
