  • If you're a woodworker in a small shop or on a tight budget, you need to check this tool out. The WEN portable oscillating spindle sander is a tool that is not only affordable to most woodworkers but also able to be easily stored away when not in use. I just bought this wen Portable oscillating spindle sander so I won't call this video a full woodworking tool review. But from the little I have used the wen portable oscillating spindle sander I thought it was good enough to bring to the attention of my fellow makers and woodworkers. The wen portable oscillating spindle sander can be used as a smaller version of a benchtop oscillating spindle - belt sander. So take a look as I discuss my first impressions good and bad of the WEN oscillating spindle sander in the woodworking tool review of sorts.

    The footprint is nice for a smaller shop. I would be interesting in your opinion in 6months.

    I have a Wen lathe and a battery powered chainsaw. No complaints at all about performance. I’m going to get one of these sanders today. Thanks Bub.

    Knockers sticker on the band saw had my dying. Interested to see how this holds up. I want one of those ridgid ones but they do not last for a day or two on marketplace even at around 150-200 dollars.

    • @BradsWorkbench
      @BradsWorkbench  3 года назад

      Lol i was wondering who would notice that! I actually just got the ridgid at work, working again. If you have the space and money, its definitely a better option. Remember then WEN and harbor freight both have similar models now

    I don't really do much wood work, but I do build the occasional guitar. Not often enough to buy a dedicated sander, but this would be perfect. It's $82.77 CAD but that's still pretty reasonable to me. I'll hold off until I see how it does with you for a little while though.
    Don't forget to update and don't hurt yourself

    Hi Brad, you were going to make an assessment of the Wen unit after 6 months use?
    My unit came without the upper washer. Will you kindly give me the 2 diameters and thickness so I can make one. Cheers, (Exotic Timber Slabs).

    I bought one about six months ago and it was worth the money. There are other ones that look the same for a lot more.

    Debating between this or next size up the wen spindle sander (about $115) as a first spindle sander. Thoughts?

    • @BradsWorkbench
      @BradsWorkbench  2 года назад +1

      If you have the space and money for a benchtop one, then go for that. More power and longer stroke. This is just better for people on a tight budget, need something portable, or lack shop space

      @@BradsWorkbench Speaking of the Triton, if it's the same dimensions do you think this would be compatible with the Rockler Convertible Benchtop Router Table that has the optional insert plate for the Triton?
