With all this bad mouth people this is just a short science-fiction movie. I like it. This is just entertainment for a rainy day. This is a great show to watch with out foul language and sexual content that you see mostly in today movies. Thank you for your hard work and having very little funds to work with great job

+Rachele Wright-McClure It's funny, I was just thinking "this is like really bad porn but without the foul language or sexual content" to redeem it.

You're right James, not a major motion picture by any stretch, but still just as good as some big studio B movies that get released. And you have to respect the labor of love, two years doing all the post yourself, kudos bro.

I love this at so many levels! I admire the fortitude and creativity of the cast and crew in bringing this story to life. Yes, it is clear that it is "low budget", but some of the best movies are low tech/low budget (and some of the worst overplayed high budget films have been some of the biggest flops). It's a little cheesy in some places of course (my favorite was when it rained but no one got wet!). But yes, definitely a fun little film. Thanks for your passion!

    Well done !
At least you had a go at movie making and done well with what you had at hand.

It is always so easy to criticise, yet so hard to create. I write sci-fi stories for a hobby, so I can sympathise with the effort required to write a story, let turn it into a movie. For a 10 grand budget, you've done very well

Very good considering the circumstances it was made under, VERY GOOD. 99% of the trolls who diss this are guaranteed to be unable to create something as consistently good to the point you really want to know the story line and can't wait to see what's next, even some high budget films don't have that quality. This was made with 10,000 dollars, and a very inexperienced yet highly talented crew.

The movie may be like a lower budget star wars (considering the $10,000 budget)but I really like it for what is, not what it looks like.I like it, because not only does it bring back old memories of the comparatively worse (graphic wise) than today's memorable films of the 1960's, but it seems like a really great effort for a first attempt at making a film, especially a digital film, with no prior film education. the story is interesting, if a little weird at times, and the acting was not hollywood standard, but this film should be seen as an inspiration to all who wish to make their own films but cannot afford to go to film school.

That was actually a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a cheap and cheesy movie, but while it actually was a bit cheesy, it was not cheap. And I don't even mean "cheesy" in a bad way. This movie reminds me a bit of those late 80's and early 90's scifi flicks like Split Second, Omega Doom and the like, which often had a cheap look, but sometime actually were great movies.

    • @glytchd
      @glytchd 9 лет назад +1

***** Furzkampfbomber I'll never forget Trapped In Space, a B-movie from 1995 that I remember seeing once on the Sci-Fi Channel late @ night when i was like 15. It had a permanent effect on me especially cause their use of Tech & realism.
Quite impressive for the time. And it really typifies what I'd like my Early Interstellar space-ships should look like. Complete with buttons and all.
We've really abandoned tactile interfaces and that nitty-gritty "lived-in" feel of starships. like the Millenium Falcon, a "working man's" ship and no unnessecary wasting of space with a big wide-open bridge.

Nice movie! Considering absence of budget, one can't hire pro actors only. But even so, nice. What I do to get the ambience of 24p panavision 35mm film is, I fix the aperture to 1/25s or at least 1/50, so I get a soft cinematish motionblur (and use a grey filter on the lense if there's too much light), this helps to get rid of the "video-feel". Don't wanna be a smartass, just try to share stuff.

I hate to see comments that criticize and demean an honest effort at entertaining the masses. After all, you can't please all the people all of the time. I honestly liked the movie. Sure, it's never going to be a Hollywood blockbuster, but it kept my attention to the end. When did everyone become movie studio executives? Some of you act like you are film school professors and know the ins and outs of movie theory. Sit back, watch and either enjoy it or not. Negative comments only go to show how much free time you have on your hands. I applaud those of us with the courage to step out and show us their particular and unique arts. I can' make a movie so I enjoy watching those that can turn their thoughts and ideas into this creative medium. Keep up the good FUN!

It was pretty good considering the year it was filmed, the budget, and your 1st movie. Not many people could have done better with what you had to work with at the time.. And I just got to know- the part of Mayor says played by Keith Harkin. Could this possibly be the Keith Harkin from Celtic Thunder> he would have been 13 at the time & if it is - what time stamp is he in cause I couldn't find him

Thank you James. I enjoyed it, I realize you were on a shoestring budget. You did well, the actors were fine, I know you had to crowbar in any "CGI" and I'm not disappointed. People who gripe about your effort, meh. Let them make their own. Good story. You aren't going to please everyone so please yourself, you gave it a great shot, how many do? Make some more movies sir!

    Hi James,,
I approve most heartedly on your courage on making this movie, For your first attempt that I am aware of, it is better than a lot of stuff on SYFY(That channel sucks!) I am writing my first novel, so I know how hard it is to follow your dream. Good luck on all of your future endeavors!

good insights. had fun viewing your 1st effort. And the unaccountable hours editing it. a few trolls and back seat drivers BUT your accomplishment stands on stage while others quip & dream of making anything at all. I give an A for effort & an B for making it. Keeps u trying.

U're correct aobut ur own movie, and I appreciate what u had to say about it. I would be glad to b able to make something so well without any instruction aqnd withou8t any school or previous work in film. Even so, there is a good story line and the music is not so overwhelming that one cannot hear the dialogue like some practiced 'professionals' do. I cannot stand to watch movies that one cannot see becquse they are too dark or one cannot hear because of blaring music.

I think it's perfectly obvious that English is not his first language. I am always impressed by people who can not only speak another language but make them selves understood in it's written form.

I disagree; the soundtrack and "effects" noise were too overwhelming. If I turned down the sound then the dialogue was not loud enough.

Oh, man, I would have thought that RUclips or whoever takes cares of the closed caption text might consider paying someone else maybe even less than they are currently paying to whomever sold them that stupid translation software. The dumbware they use seems to literally translate (even English into English) by ear, meaning the bot translates what it finds in its database to most closely match what it hears. Most of the time it is hilarious. Any sound it does not recognize it proudly announces [Applause]. After one kazillion instances of nonexistent applause, i thought someone would have noticed. Another valuable contribution to a future where no one will know how to spell "you can do a better job than that". Cheers

There was a time I was going to correct them, but then I thought, "that's a big job for a movie no one will watch." So I never did, but now with a few million views, I guess people did watch and maybe I should get around to it. The auto-generated ones are kind of hilarious though 😂😂

Your well come. I like the idea of new original thinkers. If you really look at it, my children listen to the same music I used to listen to. That is because there's not much new and original out there. Also, how many times are we going to re-do Spiderman, Batman, Superman so fort so on. There's not much new and original out there. It is refreshing to see that there's talent out there. I encourage you to continue your work. I look forward in the future to see more of your material.
