- Los Angeles' The Urinals (aka 100 Flowers) make the trip up the coast to play the first anniversary party for Stranded, the Bay Area's steamiest record store. This is the original lineup of the band, which formed in 1978: John Talley-Jones (bass/vocals), Kjehl Johansen (guitar/vocals) and Kevin Barrett (drums). The average age of the ensuing mosh pit was 19. The Urinals' first three singles and the 100 Flowers debut LP have been reissued on vinyl by Superior Viaduct. Camera by Steve Viaduct & Peter Conheim (occasionally knocked around by frenetic youngsters), sound by Peter Conheim/Red Channels Mobile.

Urinals/100 flowers.... easily in my top 10 all time favourite artists. Been a fan since around 2013 when I was 16....just turned 21 and they're still one of my biggest inspirations. They resonate so much with me.

Dsgstng, thanks for the set list. Nice crisp recording. Really, regardless of what year you see them, they rule. Age has done what? When I saw 'em about 5 to 10 years ago, about twice, it seemed they were tighter for the passage of time. Nuttin' like the original line up tho never a knock on the other guitarist. This band has given us a lotta music for several decades. This video's a real treat.
These guys are even better live than their albums. Thanks for posting. Surf-a-delic.

They came to see a band they (likely) didn't know and they're in a record store lmao, how crazy could it possibly get in there?
There were no audience mics for our recording. All direct. Believe me, they were cheering like mad. It was the craziest show we ever did there.
