I've always thought a Louie campaign in the style of Shipwreck tale where enemies are the collectibles and filling out the piklopedia is the objective would be cool for a DLC
This is what I keep telling everyone. We could have infinite time, or limited. We could actually go in caves. We can see how he found moss, and we could get every pikmin type. It’ll also explain some things in the story. The only problem is it seems he doesn’t use the pikmin, unless it’s a dandori battle.
I think a point that helps the case that dlc will be added is that in the main base, you can see what looks like a bunch of stone steps leading into an alcove or something that the dlc might expand into.
From what I have heard the cave/alcove looks similar to the alcove in Pikmin 3 where Olimar was captured by the Plasma Wraith. There is also the dialogue that happens when you 100% the game but go back with the message from command that Collin finds odd. From what has been discussed I can see there being dlc that involves finding where everybody's ships are at and finding them all pilled up in an area and maybe have it where the plasma wraith is guarding the ships. Along with the mission have some dialogue from Olimar that can finally put to rest just what Pikmin 4 is (sequel, prequel, alternate timeline)
@@tripplec6798 One hand: That sounds awesome! Other hand: Making purely post game DLC... I don't know. Some players think of pikmin as the fun cute Nintendo thing and will not try to reach the late game content and that is okay. I think the DLC needs content accessible from about mid game. Like... hm: The DLC has to add content after every credit role and/or from the main menu. Locking some content behind story progress: Awesome! Locking all content behind story progress: Tricky to market. The additional content also is not allowed to break the midgame... so... three side stories and a post game story?
It is worth noting that the way the game ends sets up perfectly for DLC to be made, as you can kind of just keep playing on one file indefinitely. Also, there's that unused "green bean" onion in the files which suggests that there either will be or used to be a green Pikmin, possibly a parasitic Pikmin like in the Pikmin concept art sheet. I think if we see DLC it could come in 3 forms, each arguably more exciting than the last. The easiest and most obvious choice is to add extra dandori missions or sage leaf trials. This would most likely be free DLC. Then there could be some kind of side mode, maybe with Louie. I'm not sure how this would work, but it could either involve paying debt or cooking creatures. Finally, the most exciting thing that could possibly happen is a brand new area, and/or new or returning Pikmin. The latter two here would of course be paid DLC. I wouldn't get your hopes up, but since we're in the era of the switch it seems like everything gets some kind of DLC content. Mario Odyssey and BoTW both would have been more than fine without any DLC content but yet they got a fair share of extras. Though Nintendo is quite an enigma, so who knows.
There better be an endless night mode. In concept similar to cod zombies. Combat is my favorate part of the game and this would be the perfect thing to add as dlc!!!!
Yes. And I Would Like The Vehemoth Phosbat and the Little Baby Ones to Be an Enemy in it Also. Like How the Vehemoth Phosbat Would Work is That You Need to Use the Glowmob to Reveal it. It Wont Stun it, Just Make it Panic Like in Pikmin 3 When you Turn on the Big Lightbulb, And Then it Would go Invisible Again. Also HARDMODE
I think not having a side Challenge/Mission mode is made up for by the Dandori Challenges in the campaign. Pikmin 3 was glorious but short and it had a LOT of side content but this time around the extra content has been integrated into the campaign WAY better than in 3. I miss Mission mode but having those missions in the campaign is better.
One thing I realized was that the 2 big mission modes from pikmin 3, collecting treasure and defeating enemies, are already in the game in spirit. Just incorporated into the main story and not delegated as separate “modes”. Collecting treasures is clearly in the form of dandori challenges, and defeating enemies is actually the night mode missions, they even tell you how many enemies you kill in them. That’s the reason I think we won’t get small dlc like a side mode. If we do get one, I’d think it would be sizable.
Due to the fact that other properties that were never even considered for DLC in the past, like Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Smash Brothers, and so on, i think Pikmin 4 absolutely will have DLC. Also the overwhelming sucess of the game itself just feels perfect to capitalize on with even more content; from a business perspective this is too good to pass up. I would honestly be shocked if it doesn't happen
it would be really weird if there wasnt DLC they could bring back collect treasure, battle enemies, defeat bosses, and bingo battle or they could add a new side story maybe more sage leaf levels most of all i want online dandori battles but we need more dandori battle maps
I feel like if Pikmin 4 DOES end up having DLC, then it should at least include an Ultra-Spicy difficulty option, just like in Pikmin 3 (but better), or at least a side mode where you get to play as The President and you have to survive the night
I mean, I have an interesting thing. I personally think there will be DLC, but I’m not sure what type. Mission mode’s absence is odd, but I’ve also noticed there’s 2 areas on the map that really look like they could be areas, there’s an island in the middle of the sea, and there’s a giant beach on the other side of the island, both mysteriously well within the perimeters of the map, yet serve no purpose.
If they add a dlc I would really like to be able to access the other floors of the house (I want indirect lore on the extinction of humanity so much). If Pikmin 3 had a dlc, I don't see why Pikmin 4 wouldn't have one.
@@zacharyweaver276 Time (and many other things) in PNF-404/The Earth is weird in general. There's no way humans still exist. We've had proof of this since the first game and Pikmin 2,3,4 and hey! gives us plenty of evidence in this direction too. We know that humanity was extinct and went to at least one other planet and became extinct there too. We still don't know all the details, but that can only be the case. That'd make it the third best selling pikmin game worldwide with just the sales numbers in Japan alone. It's probably well outperforming what Nintendo thought so they'll probably wanna profit off that with DLC
It needs a harder difficulty for dlc. Like, imagine being able to choose a harder difficulty where not only the enemies are harder, but the enemy placements get remixed to be more challenging. Surely, just changing enemy stats and enemy placements couldn’t be too hard for dlc and the game desperately needs it. Heck, if modders can remix areas as fast as they have already, surely it wouldnt be a big stretch for Nintendo

I want FREE DLC with unused Pikmin and the Bean Pikmin (Beany) and Mushroom Pikmin (Puffmin) and Bulbmin
The more attention the more chance of dlc everyone like and sub
I would kill for a online mode or Night Expeditions expansion
Or dare i say, infinite Night Mode Survival
@@drxavier1870 Yessir.
Playable president, bulbmin and hd gatling groink are all i hope for if dlc is announced
If their is DLC I hope there’s more dandori battle maps pikmin 3 had an amazing pvp mode through bingo battle with a variety of maps
there should be a cave creator for dlc
Love your channel Wigwam! Keep up the great content! Hope you remember me!
I'd love to see a DLC about louie because i just wanna know more about that lil dude... or maybe something about "Character D"? probably not but the thought of it would be cool lol
If there WILL be DLC, I just hope that the three koppaites from last game will be here
That would be great
DLC on February 2024 and pikmin 5 on 2029
It better man, I completed this game in two days everything has been done and I want M O R E
I want holiday themed levels >
Maybe it can show the shepherd family’s past.
I hope so either have enemies spawn back or have new game plus
id like a new game plus or maybe a dlc area or 2 with olimar coming back and getting some treasure with moss
I just want better co-op, abnd maybe even online. I would also probably pay like 30 dollars for a cave editor dlc
Yeah fr!
Am I the only one who thinks the leaflings are in-game representations of Pikmin fans?
I don't think so there are a number of Switch games that never got DLC and I see Pikmin 4 being in that camp
New areas and enemies both new and familiar
“The most unreal thing”
Was that meant to be a pun?
I really hope pikmin 4 gets dlc like pikmin 3 did perhaps, but the game already has so much content im unsure
The only dlc I want is harder Pikmin 4, no auto lock (I don't include the ultra spice mod as it's not balances yet due to not taking into account dandori challenges) and drone to have better controls for a camera mode
(And coop but that's probably not happening on the switch)
The DLC should be playing as Louie
i would like that
I feel like the DLC will have to do something with Louie..? Maybe?
I hope so! I love his character!
no switch game will be getting a deluxe version until 2031
If they did add dlc it may have something to do with the plasm wraith... actually screw that it would just be an extra map for dandori battle or someting.
I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
2:35 we already have a boss rush???
Yeah, it’s cavern for a king
I would like a new game plus mode to play with all the upgrades and Pikmin types
ik DLC bad, but i would pay any ammount to have Bulbmin back
They should make a new one called pikmin 1 2 3 and 4 you don’t have to keep buying them all
dlc should have the old pikmin types back
Imagine fusing pikmin it’d probably be op though
The 10 year wait was absolutely worth it
im confident that if pikmin 4 released on the wii u like was originally planned it would have been a far greater game
100% worth it
@@realteamwall It would've sold horribly and would spell doom for the franchise if it was released on the Wii U
A dlc they can add is more night mode
DLC The Baldmen Will return
Tad; like see green and orange pikmin as well onion as of dlc want see bedroom , bathroom , attic , garage , big shopping mall
I hope so!
Bring the pikmin 3 crew back! And their ship... (I grew with the Wii U)
