Dave was my wife’s uncle by marriage. His second marriage was to Adele , my wife’s Aunt. I had the pleasure of knowing him and was blown away by this man who was the most amazing man I have ever known. He was at my wedding and his band played my wedding. He just spoke of his life. I still morn him and love him. My wife and I were invited to his enshrinement into the NEA for lifetime achievement at the Fords Theater. The night before he was playing for Ronald Reagan and had a stroke. He survived and still thrived. I did a similar interview with Dave and his wife by his side. We are still looking for it. I have so many stories in such a few years of knowing him. He was and is the King of Clarinetist’s.
