Even today this is still the BEST shirt dress DIY out there THANK YOU
I love this idea. Being plus sized this would still work wonderfully!
I've been sewing for over 40 yrs both for the public and family. You have a good eye and sew very well. I really like this one and its done very modestly and neatly. Only 1 critical note - you have 2 shirts that button the opposite directions. The top opens to the right and bottom to the left (probably 1 man and 1 woman shirt). The skirt could have been altered with a little work to match the top just a little more complicated. Keep up the good work, your videos are enjoyable.
Or just by turning the second shirt upside down, if the fabric allows it.
Shirt dresses w/ pockets are practical as well as cute.
Omg! My daughter and I want to be Patsy and Trixie from Call the Midwife and you just helped us ever so! Thank you so much! 😊❤
Thanks for posting this diy. I have had the idea about doing this for a couple of days now, figuring out in my head how to do it and wat do I need, shirts-wise. Seeing your tutorial makes it a tot clearer and easier. Now I know I need a size M and a size XXL shirt to make this work. Hope I can find matching colored shirts in the thrift shop tomorrow.
Oh I did it, using 2 denim shirts. I cant post a pic here, but... wow.
This is great! I don't know why I never thought to put two shirts together. I may try this this weekend.
One of best men's shirt to women's dress refashion yet! Thanks! I would like to do two white ones!
I love love love it! The length is perfect. Thanks so much...I’m ready!
You made it look so simple! I think I'll try it will a different pattern shirt in the bottom to show my style 🙋🏾🙋🏾🙋🏾
I like this idea. I would look for a contrasting color shirt for one piece, maybe with pinstripes.
Great shirt dress. Looks easy to do.
This was VERY smart and innovative. Love it!
You're very good at what you do. It looks great on you too.💕💕💕💕
Wow i love love this , has a nice vintage vibe
you make that look so easy! Love it
Looks like something straight out of the 1940s. I would be interested in seeing them turned into a romper as well.
AWESOME thank you!!! Would love to see the sides and back of the dress.
I'm inspired. You save so much time in not having to make that top shirt.
Wow what a great idea, thank you for uploading this! I already have an idea to mix a white shirt with an off blue, with dainty buttons an remake the collar into a Peter Pan one. Thanks so much! God bless.
I love this. It would be great to teach in. I will be hunting for the right shirts.
really great, makes me want to rummage around in 2nd hand stores now. making your own clothes is so much more rewarding

Y no pasa.de.moda....Gracias por compartir. Muy hermoso...❤
And if you really like to sew and you have enough excess material for a belt with fabric left over from the bottom of the long shirt you can create a belted section between the bottom and top halves. If the belted area has a button you could dress it up with a button on the left and right side of that button and have a place to button your belt if you want it to flop. And if you like shorter skirts you can probably get away with a tall man's shirt by itself and tailor it for the waistline. You can also try a variety of collars, mandarin, wingtip or non button down regular collars. Don't forget shirts with epaulets. And don't forget Hawaiian shirts with all the bold prints and colors. Can even wear it with leggings.
Thanks for sharing. Love it!
I would recommend that you make the top of the skirt part the same size as the bottom of the shirt. Otherwise one might be bigger than the other and not line up right. In your case they seem to have lined up but that doesnt always happen lol
Wauw you make it so easy, for the first time I understand it.Thank you .greetings from the Netherlands

Wow creative
Adorable!
OH I LOVED THIS!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it!
Love it
Nice. Did you not see the placket of the top to the bottom? The top closes like a women’s shirt but the bottom closes opposite like a man’s shirt
Bea Goodwin that's the uniqueness I like it!
I think that's cool.
Good Eye mate, I totally thought she was using a men's shirt for the top piece and wondered why she said to make sure they were similar in color. I think my OCD would go into overdrive trying to match placket widths and side seams with something off a rack. And if the bottom shirt is hemmed straight across you can leave the little men's tag to show your girlfriends your creativity.
Nice
Super cute! Love your refashions

Cool...love u'r dress
😱 excelent!
Wow this always stumps me - I see on sew many videos (ba-dmm tsh) youtubers leaving the pins in and sewing over them! I've tried but my pins get bent out of shape --- My questions are: Where do you buy these magical dressmakers pins? And wouldn't they eventually come into contact with the sewing needle?
When you pin perpendicular to the fabric you can sew over them. If you are so unfortunate that your needle hits the pin just right then (both the needle or the pins) may still bend or break
Sew slower and pull the pins out before you hit them.
Wonderful job done sweetheart
very nice
Good job but maybe better with shorter sleeves ❤
