I just don't like that when they finally decided to use the multiverse, all they did was "uhh, look. Pirate world. Oh wow, Anti-utopia world. Oh wowwzers , a Jungle world.", such an easy way of using it. Sonic Villains, a fan film , that by the looks of it, will offer a far better sonic multiverse than Sonic prime.
they could have done anything with it. travelling to the past, alternate dimensions that don't even include sonic or his friends, a reality where it all went wrong (which is what new yolk did i guess, they just made the villains pathetic and comical in the worst way possible) the jungle themed one could have been master-emerald or angel island themed if they were really that desperate to use the concept, but no. we just get jungle amy... yaayy..
What’s weird is that they could’ve grabbed the most distinctive versions of the characters and have them be their own unique shared universe. Dr. Don’t could’ve been a far more interesting character if he wasn’t stuck to the Eggman conquerer role, or was the Snively for the one controlling the world. Since he could’ve ended up turning out completely differently from his OG Eggman counterpart.
When I saw the premise years ago, i was hoping it'd be about Sonic meeting his TV Show versions but all we got was a Sonicless multiverse where it'd be pirates or whatever jungle caveman crap for Sonic Speed Forces or whatever it was called as mobile game skins, atleast Tails Nine's world was close enough to a SATAM universe.
The script feels like it was reworked to fit the budget. Like, everything about the different dimensions feel like they were supposed to be either homages, _or straight up,_ places and timelines in Sonic's history. -New Yolk City is clearly themed after SATAM and Mobotropolis, the sort of dystopic future with a rebel force, this could have been the Freedom Fighters. Rusty Rose herself is a lot like Bunnie with extending robot limbs. -The pirate world could've been the Sol Dimension, majority water. Our opportunity to see Blaze, Marine and Eggman Nega. -The jungle world could've been Boom or a new take on Sticks in particular. The series coming to terms with its various timelines in a show would've been really cool, like Into the Spiderverse, but we didn't get that. Instead, we got a script that catered to model reusage for a low budget production.
The only problem would be the SATAM because all rights to the SATAM characters are owned by DIC which eventually went defunct and all the rights went to WILDBRAIN

I’ve also always had ideas for a rewrite, but I’ve got two different drafts for the show! The first one keeps the three worlds, but instead of Sonic visiting all of them, Sonic Shadow and Silver are each sent to a separate world (Silver is here because he chronos controlled back in time when his future was suddenly obliterated by Sonic’s acts in the past) and each of them would go to the world that I think they would thrive in the most. I’m not entirely sure who goes where, but I think Sonic would go to boss cage maze, Shadow to no place, and Silver to new yoke (I think Silver suits new yoke best because he’s always been a beacon of hope and an optimist, he would be the light in a dark world). The second draft isn’t nearly as flushed out as the first, since it’s literally just Sonic prime with Silver in it, but your idea of visiting the worlds of Archie or the story book worlds would also have been great for prime!
Personally, I am just so done with the whole multiverse trope in media. It's a fun and interesting gimmick when it's used as a plot for a single episode or something, but not for a whole series. Honestly just feels like an excuse to sell multiple toys of the same characters just with slightly different outfits. Like hey look, it's Knuckles, but he's a pirate. Like... Why does he have to be a completely seperate character to the normal Knuckles? Just have an episode where the characters go on a pirate themed adventure or something. I care about those characters, not these weird counterparts.
The show wasn't that bad in my opinion but could be way more better that true. After watching this video we see the lost potential of this series for sure.

I don't get how anyone thinks it's canon when Sonic literally doesn't know what a Metal Sonic is and the backstories shown in the show are literally different from their normal backstories (Such as Sonic only meeting Knuckles in Hidden Palace)
1:36 oooh i wish..... how i wish it did... don't get me wrong, the 3D animation style was spectacular all across the board, every character is super emotive and expressive, but if we got a 2D animated show somewhat in the style of these other 2 shows i would've lost my goddamn mind

A big issue I had with the show is that the characterization for Sonic in particular just feels off. He's not the cool hedgehog with an attitude and a heart of gold, but a goofy, wise cracking, cartoonish like Sonic, always wide eyed and hyperemotive. He just doesn't feel like the cool guy from the adventure games, Sonic X etc.

Here’s how I would’ve rewritten Sonic Prime. Start in the original Universe and DON’T HAVE IT SET IN ONLY GREEN HILL. Have us see other locations like Central City, Emerald Town, Station Square, Angel Island or at least more of South Island. Expand the world to have Sonic finding everyone so they can go to the place of the Paradox Prism. Also, get rid of Sonic’s Character Arc. This is canon and Sonic works better as a static character, and have it so that Eggman is the most one who shatters it and the reason Sonic doesn’t get caught in it like the others being he was the closest to it. As for the Shatterverses, they will be alternate timeline where something different happened. First is New Yoke, now renamed Neo Robotropolis. This will require a rewritten canon SatAM for this to work because it takes place after an epic battle that Sonic lost and more importantly betrayed the freedom fighters somehow. Because of this, everyone will grow to hate Sonic. Tails will build his mechanical tails and change his name to Nine, cutting a significant tie to Sonic which will lead to a negative character arc he will undergo throughout Prime. Next is Boscage Maze, this will take place after the ARK crashed into the Earth, killing Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and an escaping Eggman. Shadow will be able to go here is Season 2 while Sonic is at No Place, speaking of… Finally is No Place, or Planet Freedom. I will make it so Sonic arrives after the OVA happened and he and OVA Sonic will go on an adventure to stop that Eggman from getting the Prism Shard. And the Grim will just be how it is although the ending will change. Instead of the Grim shrinking it will crumble similar to what happened in the other worlds. I will also have PRISMATIC SONIC FIGHT NINE. This will lead to Nine getting desperate and use so much power that his mechanical tails explode, crippling him. After everyone escapes, Sonic just looks at Nine who’s mind and body are absolutely destroyed by the shards, leaving Sonic to have to abandon him in the collapsing grim like Nine’s Sonic did, only this time Nine was the one who betrayed them.

I cared more about the dimensional variants than the original. Rusty and Nine in particular because they were versions that never met Sonic. Imagine if the ending had Sonic strugle trying to get his friends back but all the variants die. What would Sonic do?
I got a rewrite of prime I'm working on rn, where it focuses on having each character being shattered into pieces. Each shattered variant encompasses different traits of their character, and each Shatterspace bases itself off of a specific character and has its own correlating antagonist. New Yoke is Tails' Shatterspace, where Nine encompasses several negative traits: cowardice, desperation, trust issues, and the fact he's had to put up a barrier to protect himself. His antagonist is Eggman, who singlehandedly runs New Yoke. Knux is the leader of the resistance, showing his competence in battle, his stubbornness, his courage, and how he just wants to protect what's dear to him. Rascal Rose (replacing Rusty Rose) is kinda like a younger sister figure to Knux. It shows Amy's stubbornness, how she'd put herself in danger just to get recognition, how she wants to help, and also her weakness. She's not as strong or competent as Knux, and she's upset about it, trying to make up for it every chance she gets. Rouge is gonna get renamed from Rebel, since she's not a Rebel! She works directly under Eggman as a spy, someone who can keep tabs on the ground and give him any information about the resistance. Rouge betrays Eggman later for her own gain though. Boscage Maze is Amy's Shatterspace! It's based off CD, so Metal is her respective looming antagonist. She's terrified of Metal destroying the forest, so she kicks out everyone else. She's PARANOID, and this depicts her superstition, desperation, and passion. This is my most underdeveloped one RIP. Ik Knuckles knows a lot about how to survive. Maybe this one could depict Knuckles' solitude and self reliance? I'm not sure, still a WIP. (OH yeah since Gnarly Knuckles is a yucky name I renamed him to Bruised Knuckles, Bruise for short.) No Place is Knuckles' Shatterspace! Chaos is his corresponding antagonist. Knuckles just wants to learn about his ancestry, which is what drew him to pirating, and the Devil's Lighthouse. It's the only clue he has to knowing what happened to the Echidna's, but it's guarded by Chaos, a sea monster. This depicts Knuckles feeling disconnected from his history and yearning for it, also it depicts his desperation and one-track mindedness. Sails depicts Tails' need to rely on someone, he needs to be given orders. Also timidness and shyness. Amy is the most outgoing of all the Shatterspace characters. She's the one singing sea shanties and helping cheer her friends on their voyage, and she's very good at it. She's a good friend to everyone. Batten depicts Rouge's dynamic while in a team, while also having her Kleptomania, which lead her to wanting to pirate. (Other traits will develop as I write more.) See how each Shatterspace represents their respective characters desperation? Yeah, it's intentional. I love the potential of Sonic Prime being a massive in depth character analysis that hyperfocuses in individual traits and circumstances! It could've been so cool... Anyways even though I regularly do not interpret Sonic like prime does, this rewrite's continuity is generally a story where Sonic DOES need character development. He's such a jerk LOL I want him to explode. Also Shadow is an android (which is plot relevant bc Nine kinda enslaved Shadow for a bit.) (All of prime messes with Shadow's head because the reason he is in the Shatterspace is because he has chaos energy, a "life force", but he can't have prism energy, which is why he can't interact with anything unless a gateway is broken or is opened for him. So. Yay. Constant dehumanization.) Anyways I rambled long enough. Time to go rewrite Prime some more
I've been discussing Sonic Prime with my friend for a while now. (Yeah, even with its less than expected writing, there's a lot to talk about.) My friend's biggest gripe with Sonic Prime is that it was a perfect opportunity to pay tribute to Sonic Rush one way or another that unfortunately never happened; no Blaze, no Eggman Nega, nothing. As for me, the two issues I have are that Shadow doesn't have any meaningful interactions with anyone besides Sonic (arguments can be made for Nine) when Prime was finally shifting his characterization in the right direction after being butchered in the 2010s for so long, and that Season 3's end essentially hard resets everything, meaning that the interdimensional adventure (and maybe the whole show if you think about it) was rendered pointless, especially considering your points about Sonic just accidentally or impulsively making the wrong choice by chance.
This idea is interesting and much better than the series. If I could have given advice to the screenwriter, i would have done it like this: - Remove Rouge from the main cast and put her with Shadow and Omega. The character of Rouge feels forced in the series in the sense that she is out of place. She doesn't speak with anyone (apart from Sonic and Tails) and is ignored (the characters give her very little importance, even act as if she didn't exist) - Replace Big with Omega: I like Big but he has nothing to do in the series. He serve no purpose other than making some running gag and his alternative versions are forgettable. Since Shadow and Rouge are already in the series, they should have added Omega to complete the team. The three would go on a mission to stop Eggman and stop him before Sonic and the others came. - Change Sonic. He's just not funny. Makes it so that he breaks the prism by accident and not because he wants to play bowling. - Stop forcing Amy to talk about nature. Amy never talks like that in games. - There must only be one alternate universe. Too much universe creates a sort of mess in addition to introducing weak alternative forms. An alternate universe that combines all three seems much better. - Give each character a good alternative version which is the opposite of its original counterpart: Nine is the solitary mechanic, Thorn is the leader of a tribute hostile to strangers and Dread is a selfish and unscrupulous pirate. Omega and Rouge could have an alternate form of cowboys. Rouge is known to be a thief, and cowvoys arrest thieves, so that might be good. - Remove prismatic Sonic. This is the worst form of Sonic I've ever seen. Not only is his design bad, but it only appears for a few seconds. - Make the Chaos Council threatening. It's quite funny to think that Satam's Eggman was much more threatening and better written than an entire army of himself. - Make Shadow useful. He was the only good point of Prime, however, he was put in the background for 2 seasons. While Sonic helps his friends, Shadow forms a team of all the main alternate forms to overthrow the Chao Council. - Create more background characters. The show made it seem like only the main cast lived through all of its dimensions.
I find SATAM Robotnik to be a really boring character.. He's also slow in movement, he barely gets up from his chair.. Whenever he's on screen.. i just get bored. the Chaos Council Is not bad I Feel like they could have made the Chaos Council More threatening and more interesting But instead not to

Here, the Chao Council were initially presented as a cold and evil team before transforming into clowns. They are so bad that they had to be replaced by Nine at the end of the show.
I always thought there was a missed opportunity to have one Eggman per dimension. Like, how cool would it have been if there was an Eggman in the Boscage Maze who was a Clayton esque huntsman obsessed with hunting animals and cutting down trees or a pirate Eggman with an army of steam powered machines?
Yeah. I agree with this video. You’re version of Sonic Prime is really good and honestly way better than what we got. And I agree that Sonic being late to the mission was because Shadow kept fighting him. Nine is a good character, but his villain arc went on for too long in my and the animation and fight scenes are good, but the story and writing is just bad.
Loking foreward for new updates on the rewrites, maybe shadow can also be changed in a version that never got redeemed from the promise, metal sonic might also be created from scrap once sonic arrives in this new world, there is much that could be done

Sonic prime is underrated. Everyone hates it cos they could but it was quite cool. The animation was amazing and the plot was great. Everyone just hates the long fight scenes. You got dr. Don't dr. Done-it and dr. Deep confused. Deep is the samuri, done-it is the old man and Don't is the teenager
The first two seasons were set up quite well especially the last episode of season 2. However for season 3 it felt like they didn’t double check the script which becomes so repetitive with the whole battle between Nine and the army that it felt like it dragged on then it should have
I feel like the reason the other characters well... doesn't feel fleshed out and like you said under developed is because it doesn't take it's time to do something with these characters they're just there except Maybe thorn rose she had some level of depth and development atleast but other than it doesn't do anything with these characters they are just there and mostly focus on Sonic, shadow and nine IDW handled it's character writing I mean not only it characterized the majority of the game characters well except Shadow but whenever they introduced a new character it actually spend some time on them aswell to actually get to know these characters better and how can we relate to them etc...but in sonic prime you barely get any of that just with thorn rose that's it. Also I think the only character that is well written is shadow the whisper and tangle Mini series is one good example it took it's time to explore these characters tell us more

I will admit that this show wasn't that great. I do like the animation, characters and the references, but it was still very boring to sit through and finish. Season 3 was the most boring because of the war and all the fighting and it was the worst because of how empty it felt. I had Portal 2 vibes from this show and that's the game which I don't want anything from Sonic to be inspired from. There's a reason why Portal 2 is the worst video game of all time.

I hated the ending, I actually liked the show but yeah it had a lot of problems and the ending didn’t help, I wish so badly that after Sonic finally got his friends back he would sit back and relax with them having a great time and enjoying the time he can now spend with them but no all we get is now he’s ready for another round after not chilling for who knows how long. I’m like give the guy a break. I didn’t really mind the looks like it’s time to fight again thingy but they could’ve made it a lot more satisfying.
Tbh it seemed interesting as first then it got repetitive and i dropped the show altogether. Everything shadow says about sonic is 100% true and since most of the story follows sonic, you see the issues. Sonic's friends stopped being interesting after season 1. Once we got introduced to the different variants, every appearance they have after season 1 becomes a repetition of unfunny jokes, and they overall are just annoying. I couldn't name 1 scene where the show made me care about the variants after season 1. That pirate knuckles dude is an example of that. It tries to build him up during his introduction to be some cool pirate captain guy, but after season 1, he's just an annoying comic relief character and he does pretty much nothing of value. It honestly baffles me why sonic even cares about the variants. The only variant that wasn't too bad was nine since he was built up a lot better compared other characters and wasn't just a tool for comic relief. Shadow is probably the best character in the show despite his short amount of screentime. They fumbled hard by not allowing him to join sonic. They only allow him to do so when they go to the grim to defeat nine. He isn't outright unlikeable and he's level headed, caring, isn't straight up annoying, and has likeable personality traits . Which yes those qualities makes him better him better than every other character. Even better than nine since his mean spirited personality makes him a lot less likeable and at times it gets a little annoying.

I also think Sonic Prime made the same mistake Sonic games do (a lots of times) They try to juggle too many characters instead of focusing on just a few and really building them up, and giving all of them character arcs (like Knuckles in this series had no purpose whatsoever, he was just 'there'. He was absolutely unnecessary in this series, and wouldn't have changed anything at all if they left him out of the series).
Sonic Prime is my least favorite of the Sonic animated spin-offs for a number of reasons. I'm a longtime fan of the Sonic games, having played them since the Genesis era. However, when it comes to animated spin-offs, I've always preferred the lighter, comedy-based ones (Adventures and Boom) to the darker, action-based ones (SatAM, Underground, X, and Prime). Now, to be fair, I do like Prime's concept of Sonic travelling to different dimensions and meeting alternate versions of his friends. However, the execution was extremely flawed. I would have loved to see dimensions such as a medieval kingdom (with Shadow being a black knight, serving as the Axel Gear to Sonic's Sparkster) and a western town (with Knuckles as a sheriff as a nod to his 1996 OVA counterpart). Unfortunately, we only get the same three or so dimensions over and over. Not to mention, Prime's incarnation of Sonic is a huge step down from previous incarnations, being clumsier and more prone to making mistakes he's unable to fix (it doesn't help that his friends constantly berate him for it). Sure, Sonic is egotistical and sometimes tends to think before he acts, but at least his past incarnations have received praise for saving the day. I'm also not a fan of Prime's dramatic tone, especially how its season finales end on cliffhangers, which is a huge problem with Sonic animated spin-offs in general. Even the ones that do get renewed for more seasons, such as SatAM and Boom, teased new seasons that ultimately never happened due to circumstances beyong their control. I was not inspired to see Prime's third and final season, but from what I heard, it's the worst one, so I'm not missing much. If it were up to me, I'd have just had a third and final season of Sonic Boom produced instead of Sonic Prime.
Look it may not be the best series but you also have to understand it was pushed a little more towards kids, I still love the show, for my childhood hero.

I think i got a bit lost around the part with how Sonic ended up on the jungle dimension, but other than that, I'd be happy to hear the rest of your rewrite and thanks for making this video 👍
Biggest bulshit was ending of a show. When Sonic came back to his life after combining the paradox prism, the fact that we never saw other dimensions/chars as if the they were never existed. Like the whole show was a Vision. He went through so much just for Nothing and NOTHING. He formed a bond with Nine and the others. BUT END OF THE DAY THERE WAS NO NINE!? Damn im pissed again
I think the best combination would be Dr. Don’t, Cyborg Amy, Nine, Pirate Knuckles, and Jungle Rouge. Dr. Don’t would be a servant of the ruler who cyborgnized the world. Amy and Nine live in Don’t society, with the former being a lot more familiar with him. Rouge went into a life in the jungle to stay away from the city. And Knuckles, having his master emerald be taken before he was born, sought a thriving life in the seas.

The chaos council should have been made up of the different Eggman incarnations from over the years, like Canon, Boom, post reboot Archie, adventures, and fleetway. Heck, the director tried to get Scratch and Grounder into Prime.
Well, that's Sega for you, they're much more dangerous villian to Sonic and his franchise than Eggman ever was. I mean, they didn't even try to do a research what made multiverse story like Spiderverse so good and groundbreaking.
I remember my friends when the cast was announced and the reveal the Tails VA and she goes "Finally,Sonic and Rainbow Dash teaming up!" I really hope the cast could reprise on other Sonic Project,Tv series or short.
The only reason why I could see someone hating sonic prime is because they grew up with the dark age games and hate everything that isn't that and somehow think sonic 06 is actually a good game, despite the fact that there's nothing in the game that is a good and the only good part about the game is shadow story.
For me the way Archie Sonic handled the multiverse was way more interesting it spoiled me. I liked Sonic Prime but didnt love it. I can see myself rewatching Sonic Boom or Sonic X but not Sonic Prime anytime soon

I liked the series but...the ending was disappointing and they didn't explore the characters like Rusty Rose enough. I really would've liked to see how she became a robot in the first place
They wanted to show us a multiverse story with multiple wildly different takes on existing characters, and showed us copies of the same characters on Star Wars planets with one or two roles switched and different outfits. They wanted to show us a Sonic that goes through a character arc and learns from mistakes, and showed us a Sonic who seemingly already completed his arc and never actually makes a bad call that he has to correct. They only made Sonic fast when it was cool, and completely ignored the fact of Sonic’s speed in situations when it actually mattered. They wanted to show us Sonic the Hedgehog, the ever confident and slightly introverted knight of the wind with nothing to prove, and showed us a wisecracking numbskull desperate for attention and trying to be cool. Reference vomit. Sonic Generations was a celebration, everything since, even now, is just nostalgia bait. I haven’t seen a version of Sonic I like since 2009. Matter of fact I haven’t seen a real ‘Sonic story’ since 2009. I don’t care if this is “a great time to be a Sonic fan.” I’m going to take a break from this series until something new happens.
What I dont like is how they showed the multiverse its like they did it in the most boring and basic way possible, "wowa universe where sonics friends are pirates" "wow a universe where sonics friends are cavemen" i honestly feel like with the multiverse they could go all out and make crossover between multiple sonic shows(sonic boom, underground, sonic x, satam etc), it would make the show very hype but instead they went and did it the most boring way possible
@@k4d0s Nah, all universes together would cause such a wacky mess... The multiverse to adopt is Rush. Creating completely new characters who have very very slight similarities with the ones we know. And still, it's still less sure to work if it already has been done one time. Doing a second time could denature it.
Sonic prime seemed extremely boring to me throughout the entire series but there were things tht made me come back. Season 2 hyped up using shadow more buttttttttttt we saw him interfere once. The show was kinda bad imo and extremely repetitive. “Sonic travels the multiverse” yet doesn’t go to any of the worlds and games we want him to 💀
Your story idea is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy better than the sonic prime series, when I first saw sonic prime ep1, I really was disappointed so after the first season I started rewatching sonic x which never gets old, sonic x is really a master piece,... wish they could continue it. And bring back Dark sonic and add hyper sonic. (all the other game forms would be appreciated to).

Hey, Sonic Boom had the most charismatic cast that not even X could match. Sure X had a good story only when Sonic or shadow was on the screen. Lets be honest about that, Sonic carried X on his back. On Boom, every character had gold moments most of the time.

Sonic boom falnderized the characters tho, and made most of them OC's. Instead of the effortlessly cool, good natured and chill hero Sonic became an arrogant immature self absorbed jerk, Knuckles was an outright OC. They turned this lone and tragic guardian, the last of his kind into this absolute meathead. Knuckles and Sonic worked so well in the early games because Knuckles was a counterbalance (with his more serious dutiful demeanor) to Sonic's seemingly carfree attitude. And while Knuckles was guillable and naive he was never stupid. Except this is the only character trait Boom assigned to him. Most characters at least pretend to be their game counterpart in Sonic Boom. With Knuckles they just given up, and meade an OC. Every characters gets to shine in Boom except Knuckles. Just remind me of one scene, just one hwere he was great, and where he actully was allowed to matter.

I just don't like that when they finally decided to use the multiverse, all they did was "uhh, look. Pirate world. Oh wow, Anti-utopia world. Oh wowwzers , a Jungle world.", such an easy way of using it. Sonic Villains, a fan film , that by the looks of it, will offer a far better sonic multiverse than Sonic prime.
they could have done anything with it. travelling to the past, alternate dimensions that don't even include sonic or his friends, a reality where it all went wrong (which is what new yolk did i guess, they just made the villains pathetic and comical in the worst way possible)

What’s weird is that they could’ve grabbed the most distinctive versions of the characters and have them be their own unique shared universe. Dr. Don’t could’ve been a far more interesting character if he wasn’t stuck to the Eggman conquerer role, or was the Snively for the one controlling the world. Since he could’ve ended up turning out completely differently from his OG Eggman counterpart.

When I saw the premise years ago, i was hoping it'd be about Sonic meeting his TV Show versions but all we got was a Sonicless multiverse where it'd be pirates or whatever jungle caveman crap for Sonic Speed Forces or whatever it was called as mobile game skins, atleast Tails Nine's world was close enough to a SATAM universe.
The script feels like it was reworked to fit the budget. Like, everything about the different dimensions feel like they were supposed to be either homages, _or straight up,_ places and timelines in Sonic's history.
-New Yolk City is clearly themed after SATAM and Mobotropolis, the sort of dystopic future with a rebel force, this could have been the Freedom Fighters. Rusty Rose herself is a lot like Bunnie with extending robot limbs.
-The pirate world could've been the Sol Dimension, majority water. Our opportunity to see Blaze, Marine and Eggman Nega.
-The jungle world could've been Boom or a new take on Sticks in particular.
The series coming to terms with its various timelines in a show would've been really cool, like Into the Spiderverse, but we didn't get that. Instead, we got a script that catered to model reusage for a low budget production.

I’ve also always had ideas for a rewrite, but I’ve got two different drafts for the show! The first one keeps the three worlds, but instead of Sonic visiting all of them, Sonic Shadow and Silver are each sent to a separate world (Silver is here because he chronos controlled back in time when his future was suddenly obliterated by Sonic’s acts in the past) and each of them would go to the world that I think they would thrive in the most. I’m not entirely sure who goes where, but I think Sonic would go to boss cage maze, Shadow to no place, and Silver to new yoke (I think Silver suits new yoke best because he’s always been a beacon of hope and an optimist, he would be the light in a dark world). The second draft isn’t nearly as flushed out as the first, since it’s literally just Sonic prime with Silver in it, but your idea of visiting the worlds of Archie or the story book worlds would also have been great for prime!

Personally, I am just so done with the whole multiverse trope in media. It's a fun and interesting gimmick when it's used as a plot for a single episode or something, but not for a whole series.
Honestly just feels like an excuse to sell multiple toys of the same characters just with slightly different outfits. Like hey look, it's Knuckles, but he's a pirate. Like... Why does he have to be a completely seperate character to the normal Knuckles?
Just have an episode where the characters go on a pirate themed adventure or something. I care about those characters, not these weird counterparts.

I don't get how anyone thinks it's canon when Sonic literally doesn't know what a Metal Sonic is and the backstories shown in the show are literally different from their normal backstories (Such as Sonic only meeting Knuckles in Hidden Palace)

A big issue I had with the show is that the characterization for Sonic in particular just feels off.
He's not the cool hedgehog with an attitude and a heart of gold, but a goofy, wise cracking, cartoonish like Sonic, always wide eyed and hyperemotive.
He just doesn't feel like the cool guy from the adventure games, Sonic X etc.

Here’s how I would’ve rewritten Sonic Prime. Start in the original Universe and DON’T HAVE IT SET IN ONLY GREEN HILL. Have us see other locations like Central City, Emerald Town, Station Square, Angel Island or at least more of South Island. Expand the world to have Sonic finding everyone so they can go to the place of the Paradox Prism. Also, get rid of Sonic’s Character Arc. This is canon and Sonic works better as a static character, and have it so that Eggman is the most one who shatters it and the reason Sonic doesn’t get caught in it like the others being he was the closest to it. As for the Shatterverses, they will be alternate timeline where something different happened.
First is New Yoke, now renamed Neo Robotropolis. This will require a rewritten canon SatAM for this to work because it takes place after an epic battle that Sonic lost and more importantly betrayed the freedom fighters somehow. Because of this, everyone will grow to hate Sonic. Tails will build his mechanical tails and change his name to Nine, cutting a significant tie to Sonic which will lead to a negative character arc he will undergo throughout Prime.
Next is Boscage Maze, this will take place after the ARK crashed into the Earth, killing Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and an escaping Eggman. Shadow will be able to go here is Season 2 while Sonic is at No Place, speaking of…
Finally is No Place, or Planet Freedom. I will make it so Sonic arrives after the OVA happened and he and OVA Sonic will go on an adventure to stop that Eggman from getting the Prism Shard.
And the Grim will just be how it is although the ending will change. Instead of the Grim shrinking it will crumble similar to what happened in the other worlds. I will also have PRISMATIC SONIC FIGHT NINE. This will lead to Nine getting desperate and use so much power that his mechanical tails explode, crippling him. After everyone escapes, Sonic just looks at Nine who’s mind and body are absolutely destroyed by the shards, leaving Sonic to have to abandon him in the collapsing grim like Nine’s Sonic did, only this time Nine was the one who betrayed them.

I cared more about the dimensional variants than the original. Rusty and Nine in particular because they were versions that never met Sonic. Imagine if the ending had Sonic strugle trying to get his friends back but all the variants die. What would Sonic do?
I got a rewrite of prime I'm working on rn, where it focuses on having each character being shattered into pieces. Each shattered variant encompasses different traits of their character, and each Shatterspace bases itself off of a specific character and has its own correlating antagonist.
New Yoke is Tails' Shatterspace, where Nine encompasses several negative traits: cowardice, desperation, trust issues, and the fact he's had to put up a barrier to protect himself. His antagonist is Eggman, who singlehandedly runs New Yoke.
Knux is the leader of the resistance, showing his competence in battle, his stubbornness, his courage, and how he just wants to protect what's dear to him.
Rascal Rose (replacing Rusty Rose) is kinda like a younger sister figure to Knux. It shows Amy's stubbornness, how she'd put herself in danger just to get recognition, how she wants to help, and also her weakness. She's not as strong or competent as Knux, and she's upset about it, trying to make up for it every chance she gets.
Rouge is gonna get renamed from Rebel, since she's not a Rebel! She works directly under Eggman as a spy, someone who can keep tabs on the ground and give him any information about the resistance. Rouge betrays Eggman later for her own gain though.
Boscage Maze is Amy's Shatterspace! It's based off CD, so Metal is her respective looming antagonist. She's terrified of Metal destroying the forest, so she kicks out everyone else. She's PARANOID, and this depicts her superstition, desperation, and passion.
This is my most underdeveloped one RIP. Ik Knuckles knows a lot about how to survive. Maybe this one could depict Knuckles' solitude and self reliance? I'm not sure, still a WIP. (OH yeah since Gnarly Knuckles is a yucky name I renamed him to Bruised Knuckles, Bruise for short.)
No Place is Knuckles' Shatterspace! Chaos is his corresponding antagonist. Knuckles just wants to learn about his ancestry, which is what drew him to pirating, and the Devil's Lighthouse. It's the only clue he has to knowing what happened to the Echidna's, but it's guarded by Chaos, a sea monster. This depicts Knuckles feeling disconnected from his history and yearning for it, also it depicts his desperation and one-track mindedness.
Sails depicts Tails' need to rely on someone, he needs to be given orders. Also timidness and shyness.
Amy is the most outgoing of all the Shatterspace characters. She's the one singing sea shanties and helping cheer her friends on their voyage, and she's very good at it. She's a good friend to everyone.
Batten depicts Rouge's dynamic while in a team, while also having her Kleptomania, which lead her to wanting to pirate.
(Other traits will develop as I write more.)
See how each Shatterspace represents their respective characters desperation? Yeah, it's intentional.
I love the potential of Sonic Prime being a massive in depth character analysis that hyperfocuses in individual traits and circumstances! It could've been so cool...
Anyways even though I regularly do not interpret Sonic like prime does, this rewrite's continuity is generally a story where Sonic DOES need character development. He's such a jerk LOL I want him to explode.
Also Shadow is an android (which is plot relevant bc Nine kinda enslaved Shadow for a bit.) (All of prime messes with Shadow's head because the reason he is in the Shatterspace is because he has chaos energy, a "life force", but he can't have prism energy, which is why he can't interact with anything unless a gateway is broken or is opened for him. So. Yay. Constant dehumanization.)
Anyways I rambled long enough. Time to go rewrite Prime some more

I've been discussing Sonic Prime with my friend for a while now. (Yeah, even with its less than expected writing, there's a lot to talk about.) My friend's biggest gripe with Sonic Prime is that it was a perfect opportunity to pay tribute to Sonic Rush one way or another that unfortunately never happened; no Blaze, no Eggman Nega, nothing. As for me, the two issues I have are that Shadow doesn't have any meaningful interactions with anyone besides Sonic (arguments can be made for Nine) when Prime was finally shifting his characterization in the right direction after being butchered in the 2010s for so long, and that Season 3's end essentially hard resets everything, meaning that the interdimensional adventure (and maybe the whole show if you think about it) was rendered pointless, especially considering your points about Sonic just accidentally or impulsively making the wrong choice by chance.
This idea is interesting and much better than the series.
If I could have given advice to the screenwriter, i would have done it like this:
- Remove Rouge from the main cast and put her with Shadow and Omega.
The character of Rouge feels forced in the series in the sense that she is out of place.
She doesn't speak with anyone (apart from Sonic and Tails) and is ignored (the characters give her very little importance, even act as if she didn't exist)
- Replace Big with Omega: I like Big but he has nothing to do in the series.
He serve no purpose other than making some running gag and his alternative versions are forgettable.
Since Shadow and Rouge are already in the series, they should have added Omega to complete the team.
The three would go on a mission to stop Eggman and stop him before Sonic and the others came.
- Change Sonic.
He's just not funny.
Makes it so that he breaks the prism by accident and not because he wants to play bowling.
- Stop forcing Amy to talk about nature.
Amy never talks like that in games.
- There must only be one alternate universe.
Too much universe creates a sort of mess in addition to introducing weak alternative forms.
An alternate universe that combines all three seems much better.
- Give each character a good alternative version which is the opposite of its original counterpart:
Nine is the solitary mechanic, Thorn is the leader of a tribute hostile to strangers and Dread is a selfish and unscrupulous pirate.
Omega and Rouge could have an alternate form of cowboys. Rouge is known to be a thief, and cowvoys arrest thieves, so that might be good.
- Remove prismatic Sonic.
This is the worst form of Sonic I've ever seen.
Not only is his design bad, but it only appears for a few seconds.
- Make the Chaos Council threatening.
It's quite funny to think that Satam's Eggman was much more threatening and better written than an entire army of himself.
- Make Shadow useful.
He was the only good point of Prime, however, he was put in the background for 2 seasons.
While Sonic helps his friends, Shadow forms a team of all the main alternate forms to overthrow the Chao Council.
- Create more background characters.
The show made it seem like only the main cast lived through all of its dimensions.
I find SATAM Robotnik to be a really boring character..
He's also slow in movement, he barely gets up from his chair.. Whenever he's on screen.. i just get bored.

I always thought there was a missed opportunity to have one Eggman per dimension. Like, how cool would it have been if there was an Eggman in the Boscage Maze who was a Clayton esque huntsman obsessed with hunting animals and cutting down trees or a pirate Eggman with an army of steam powered machines?
Yeah. I agree with this video. You’re version of Sonic Prime is really good and honestly way better than what we got. And I agree that Sonic being late to the mission was because Shadow kept fighting him. Nine is a good character, but his villain arc went on for too long in my and the animation and fight scenes are good, but the story and writing is just bad.
Prime Sonic may have been my least favorite version of Sonic cause he STILL trusts Nine after he took the Prism shards. (Next to Boom Sonic).

@RanchMaster4 I was thinking about my ideas to Rewrite Sonic Prime WrenchMaster so I can make a characters more interesting.
The first two seasons were set up quite well especially the last episode of season 2. However for season 3 it felt like they didn’t double check the script which becomes so repetitive with the whole battle between Nine and the army that it felt like it dragged on then it should have
I feel like the reason the other characters well... doesn't feel fleshed out and like you said under developed is because it doesn't take it's time to do something with these characters they're just there except Maybe thorn rose she had some level of depth and development atleast but other than it doesn't do anything with these characters they are just there and mostly focus on Sonic, shadow and nine IDW handled it's character writing I mean not only it characterized the majority of the game characters well except Shadow but whenever they introduced a new character it actually spend some time on them aswell to actually get to know these characters better and how can we relate to them etc...but in sonic prime you barely get any of that just with thorn rose that's it.
Also I think the only character that is well written is shadow

I will admit that this show wasn't that great. I do like the animation, characters and the references, but it was still very boring to sit through and finish. Season 3 was the most boring because of the war and all the fighting and it was the worst because of how empty it felt. I had Portal 2 vibes from this show and that's the game which I don't want anything from Sonic to be inspired from. There's a reason why Portal 2 is the worst video game of all time.

I hated the ending, I actually liked the show but yeah it had a lot of problems and the ending didn’t help, I wish so badly that after Sonic finally got his friends back he would sit back and relax with them having a great time and enjoying the time he can now spend with them but no all we get is now he’s ready for another round after not chilling for who knows how long. I’m like give the guy a break. I didn’t really mind the looks like it’s time to fight again thingy but they could’ve made it a lot more satisfying.
Tbh it seemed interesting as first then it got repetitive and i dropped the show altogether. Everything shadow says about sonic is 100% true and since most of the story follows sonic, you see the issues. Sonic's friends stopped being interesting after season 1. Once we got introduced to the different variants, every appearance they have after season 1 becomes a repetition of unfunny jokes, and they overall are just annoying. I couldn't name 1 scene where the show made me care about the variants after season 1.
That pirate knuckles dude is an example of that. It tries to build him up during his introduction to be some cool pirate captain guy, but after season 1, he's just an annoying comic relief character and he does pretty much nothing of value. It honestly baffles me why sonic even cares about the variants. The only variant that wasn't too bad was nine since he was built up a lot better compared other characters and wasn't just a tool for comic relief.
Shadow is probably the best character in the show despite his short amount of screentime. They fumbled hard by not allowing him to join sonic. They only allow him to do so when they go to the grim to defeat nine. He isn't outright unlikeable and he's level headed, caring, isn't straight up annoying, and has likeable personality traits . Which yes those qualities makes him better him better than every other character. Even better than nine since his mean spirited personality makes him a lot less likeable and at times it gets a little annoying.

I also think Sonic Prime made the same mistake Sonic games do (a lots of times)
They try to juggle too many characters instead of focusing on just a few and really building them up, and giving all of them character arcs (like Knuckles in this series had no purpose whatsoever, he was just 'there'. He was absolutely unnecessary in this series, and wouldn't have changed anything at all if they left him out of the series).

Sonic Prime is my least favorite of the Sonic animated spin-offs for a number of reasons. I'm a longtime fan of the Sonic games, having played them since the Genesis era. However, when it comes to animated spin-offs, I've always preferred the lighter, comedy-based ones (Adventures and Boom) to the darker, action-based ones (SatAM, Underground, X, and Prime). Now, to be fair, I do like Prime's concept of Sonic travelling to different dimensions and meeting alternate versions of his friends. However, the execution was extremely flawed. I would have loved to see dimensions such as a medieval kingdom (with Shadow being a black knight, serving as the Axel Gear to Sonic's Sparkster) and a western town (with Knuckles as a sheriff as a nod to his 1996 OVA counterpart). Unfortunately, we only get the same three or so dimensions over and over. Not to mention, Prime's incarnation of Sonic is a huge step down from previous incarnations, being clumsier and more prone to making mistakes he's unable to fix (it doesn't help that his friends constantly berate him for it). Sure, Sonic is egotistical and sometimes tends to think before he acts, but at least his past incarnations have received praise for saving the day. I'm also not a fan of Prime's dramatic tone, especially how its season finales end on cliffhangers, which is a huge problem with Sonic animated spin-offs in general. Even the ones that do get renewed for more seasons, such as SatAM and Boom, teased new seasons that ultimately never happened due to circumstances beyong their control. I was not inspired to see Prime's third and final season, but from what I heard, it's the worst one, so I'm not missing much. If it were up to me, I'd have just had a third and final season of Sonic Boom produced instead of Sonic Prime.

Look it may not be the best series but you also have to understand it was pushed a little more towards kids, I still love the show, for my childhood hero.
I mean,I thought the first season was pretty good, and it is nice to have a spiritual successor to Pac Man & The Ghostly Adventures.

I genuinely wanted it to give it a chance, since as you said, we hadn't had a story driven show since Sonic X, and the atmosphere of the show really gave me the vibe of Sonic SatAM, so that's why i was excited for it

Biggest bulshit was ending of a show. When Sonic came back to his life after combining the paradox prism, the fact that we never saw other dimensions/chars as if the they were never existed. Like the whole show was a Vision. He went through so much just for Nothing and NOTHING. He formed a bond with Nine and the others. BUT END OF THE DAY THERE WAS NO NINE!? Damn im pissed again
I think the best combination would be Dr. Don’t, Cyborg Amy, Nine, Pirate Knuckles, and Jungle Rouge.
Dr. Don’t would be a servant of the ruler who cyborgnized the world. Amy and Nine live in Don’t society, with the former being a lot more familiar with him. Rouge went into a life in the jungle to stay away from the city. And Knuckles, having his master emerald be taken before he was born, sought a thriving life in the seas.

The chaos council should have been made up of the different Eggman incarnations from over the years, like Canon, Boom, post reboot Archie, adventures, and fleetway. Heck, the director tried to get Scratch and Grounder into Prime.

But I do remember the last season which was overwhelming
The first season (8 episodes) was actually good and interesting, but as soon as the second release dropped, the quality plopped down the toilet.
They wanted to show us a multiverse story with multiple wildly different takes on existing characters, and showed us copies of the same characters on Star Wars planets with one or two roles switched and different outfits.
They wanted to show us a Sonic that goes through a character arc and learns from mistakes, and showed us a Sonic who seemingly already completed his arc and never actually makes a bad call that he has to correct.
They only made Sonic fast when it was cool, and completely ignored the fact of Sonic’s speed in situations when it actually mattered.
They wanted to show us Sonic the Hedgehog, the ever confident and slightly introverted knight of the wind with nothing to prove, and showed us a wisecracking numbskull desperate for attention and trying to be cool.
Reference vomit. Sonic Generations was a celebration, everything since, even now, is just nostalgia bait.

And still, it's still less sure to work if it already has been done one time. Doing a second time could denature it.

Your story idea is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy better than the sonic prime series, when I first saw sonic prime ep1, I really was disappointed so after the first season I started rewatching sonic x which never gets old, sonic x is really a master piece,... wish they could continue it. And bring back Dark sonic and add hyper sonic. (all the other game forms would be appreciated to).

The only problem is that it’s a continuity error and even then, that’s just because Prime was claimed canon. There are plenty of shows that never had Metal.

Hey, Sonic Boom had the most charismatic cast that not even X could match. Sure X had a good story only when Sonic or shadow was on the screen. Lets be honest about that, Sonic carried X on his back. On Boom, every character had gold moments most of the time.
Don't be ridiculous, you're trying to joke? Because that's not funny. Sonic Boom had no goal to give to any character! How could you compare this to Sonic X?! And wrong, X had ALL characters shining, Knuckles is still badass despite being more naive than games, and Tails has the biggest sense of honor of the show, not to mention Cream that is very honorable and fighting there and Chaotix who were an excellent comic relief that's not just Sonic who carried the show, absolutely not. That's also the Metarex Arc, Adventure 1&2 Arcs, and all the respect towards characters' personalities that is until now exclusive to this show!

Sonic boom falnderized the characters tho, and made most of them OC's.
Instead of the effortlessly cool, good natured and chill hero Sonic became an arrogant immature self absorbed jerk, Knuckles was an outright OC. They turned this lone and tragic guardian, the last of his kind into this absolute meathead. Knuckles and Sonic worked so well in the early games because Knuckles was a counterbalance (with his more serious dutiful demeanor) to Sonic's seemingly carfree attitude. And while Knuckles was guillable and naive he was never stupid. Except this is the only character trait Boom assigned to him.
Most characters at least pretend to be their game counterpart in Sonic Boom. With Knuckles they just given up, and meade an OC.
Every characters gets to shine in Boom except Knuckles. Just remind me of one scene, just one hwere he was great, and where he actully was allowed to matter.

yeah i've listen to Aderenaline Dub's video's, they bring so much impact to those comics from the voice acting, to the editing and sound design, i would love to see a official animated adaptation of those comics!
