Hello my friend. I sat down to do some computer work tonight and I was so happy to see that you posted a video. I’m so sorry for the uncalled for reaction to your Facebook post. I truly don’t know why people don’t think before they type. Your heart is pure and is in the right place. Work this out with action and personal connection, if not directly with survivors, then with aid groups taking supplies into the area. Going by what we experienced here in Louisiana in the Great Flood of 2016, I’ll say that it takes a bit for true help to come. Water has to recede, people are in shock, roads are impassable-it’s a mess. I’m sure the hard hit areas of all the states are in rescue mode right now and from what I’m hearing they’re not even able to get to affected areas that have been cut off by washed out roads and bridges. People are stranded without supplies and it sounds like supplies would need to be helicoptered in to those people. Absolutely tragic. But there needs to be a gathering wave of supplies mobilized and ready to be distributed asap when it’s safe to go in. I’d say right now to gather, gather, gather. In about a week, it may be time to get closer and hand off everything to a church or fire department or other local drop off spot. One odd thing I felt led to do after our flood was to buy all the fresh and canned fruit I could find and prepare it and put it in ziplocs. We went door to door in my daughter’s devastated subdivision and handed it out. People cried. They were so hot, thirsty and tired and all the aid food they were getting was appreciated but full of salt or it was Clif Bars and such. They were craving real food. Just an idea. Pop top fruit cans would work.
Give yourself grace with dealing with your maw maw’s death. It’s hard. Death is strange and affects us in ways we didn’t think it would. I put my son’s old bedroom furniture in the burn pile today because my younger son who was using it moved out and it was just time to let it go-it had issues. As I did it I teared up and it all washed over me again how much I miss him. 16 years and I’m still having to let things go and re-steady myself. And you’re right, it’s hard to film when we feel this way, but it will all work out in the end. No bad comments or deflating words from me, ever!! You’re sweet and precious and I’ve got your back. Go get ‘em. ❤️🙏👍😊

One of the toughest human conditions to endure in life is to be moved in one's heart and called to protect and assist others, but not feel an immediate gain of the necessary traction to be where needed, doing what needs to be done, making a difference, right now. East TN/West NC/SE KY aren't accustomed to these disasters in the same way Florida and the coastal areas are - just not set up to to respond as rapidly (Patara touched on this in her recent video.) In the upcoming days, more information will be released, along with the key contacts, details, plans, and opportunities. You are strong, wise, capable, and correctly oriented, so Facebook will not have ownership of the steps you feel led to take, and one particular church will not have ownership of your walk with Christ. (The two boys who made fun of you in school have no ownership of good jokes - "Deliverance" was indeed filmed in GA, and trust me, there are better TN jokes out there.)
I grew up in East TN, but moved away after college. After travelling all over the US and world, I've seen Vols flags, stickers, shirts, etc in the most
unexpected of places. If able, I usually try to chat these people up and figure out how they are connected to the school and/or the state. Folks are always so happy and enthusiastic to share their Tennessee stories and experiences, and it makes me happy that they have ties and/or great memories of time(s) there & can't wait to visit again. I've met many people who are drawn to the area and the culture - Tennessee is a a very unique and special place, with a very unique and special people.

Thanks for the video & sharing a part of your story.

Hi there GOD Bless You I lost my Grandmother this Spring and inherited one of the family farms and yeah it is sure difficult picking up that torch that my Grandmother always carried she seemed to know everything and had a answer to any question or problem I just hope to take the things I learned from her and my Grandpa and carry on and remember I can do all things through JESUS Christ who strengthens me. Don't ever take your eyes of JESUS and live by every word from the mouth of our LORD. Well thanks for the video always good to see you take care

So sorry to hear about your loss. Yes, it is very difficult, especially picking up where the loved one left off. I suppose the more I think about it, it seems the greater the loss on our end, it just shows how much we cared and loved for that person, and that’s a very good thing. God bless and take care!

Now as for you're garden, if you are going to let it lay until spring and you have a little money(that's all I got a little money), spread some oats, oil radish, cow peas and or clover seed on you're garden and forget it, till it flowers then mow it and leave it lay on the soil, forget it till spring planting time. If this dose not work I will drive down to Alabama and kiss you're feet. GOD bless.

I'll tell you,we no longer attend a "church building". We've been convicted by the holy spirit to examine what we've been led to believe. We have given up Christmas and enjoy Hanukkah now instead. Our eyes have been opened, especially when the Bible says there is no distinction between the jew and the Greek or gentile. It may not be for everyone, but it works for us.

@@vanlifebayou same here until the holy spirit revealed it to us,now I can't go along with mainstream church anymore. Especially when the Bible says that God does not dwell in buildings made by human hands. The Roman church has been very deceiving.

Our family has done the same. The Lord used many difficulties and tragedies to open our eyes and we could not be more grateful. Our faith has been strengthened. He drew us back to His Word and studying the whole Word. It has changed our lives completely. He is moving and He is building His remnant once again ❤️
