What a rewarding job, I have met people training these dogs and was absolutely shocked and disappointed to find out they where not paid for doing it, so big up and respect to those people your wonderful and we need more of you ❤️
pretty surebit depends on the role. puppy raisers don't get paid but when I mentioned on fb I wanted to train assistance dogs once I finish training My own (I trained one before as well so I know how it works....except guide dogs I've never trained guide) guide dogs UK replied thinking I meant I wanted to work for them and said I couldn't just be hired without relevant qualifications but I could apply for a position as a trainee guide dog trainer then pote tially work up to a paid trainer position
As a Guide Dog Puppy Raiser (GSDR) since Jan 2021 - all I can say is Amazing - we have a beautiful service dog who is going to change lives - brilliant charity and extremely well run. Sign up to be a puppy raiser, can totally recommend.
If I were a multi-millionaire philanthropist, everyone involved with the guide dogs organisation would be paid handsomly. For now all I can do is sponsor puppies and leave a gift in my will. Much love to all ❤
Aw you're awesome ❤ Once my assistance dog is fully trained I'm guna apply for a trainee video dog trainer position in Edinburgh :) I don't care about money, I can't do a normal job anyway, I just want to help people as someone with an assistance dog myself (autism and medical alert dog)
I’ve just applied for a job as an academy G.D trainer at your branch as I want a change of career from grooming I want that freedom to give back to the community whilst following my dreams of being a trainer I have everything crossed
I will be forever grateful to Guide Dogs for giving me my life back when I got my G.D.Megan .
This is wonderful to hear, Janice! How long have you had Megan for now?
I have had Megan for 7 months. She is my first GD and is wonderful.
What a wonderful process.
Lucy, you really are a gem! 💎
The most beautiful video I’ve ever seen. I hope those blind people are able to afford them 🥺
