My roof got stuck and didn’t close automatic. after following this video for closing it manually, i turned the hydraulics back on and it works again! you’re a life saver! it just started raining and im happy it is closed now. Thank you from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Thanks for this video. I bought my Peugeot late last September. Lashing rain and howling gale - not the best weather to try the roof so had to take the dealer's word for it that it worked. Now the weather is (hopefully) getting warmer again, I will be trying the roof in the next day or two. I hope it works OK but if it doesn't your video will come in very useful. Again, thank you for uploading this.

Good luck finding someone that can fix it properly without costing an arm and a leg. Another reason why these cars are getting rarer and rarer, love the blue car tho bro. I get laughed at when i drive my car...
Aha again, apparently because the pull-cords often broke, later models had a modification, on the left side of boot, near where that pull string was, is a hole through which the Allen key can be inserted and pushed down gently, it releases something and allows the parcel tray to be helped into position by hand. It warns to "avoid pushing down the Allen key too hard, because of the rear window glass" or words to that effect. This may help people who have a later model without a pull-cord
its either something to do with one of the microswitchs that makes the roof work, and it can be a hassle to fix, or it can be put up manually using the technique in this video.
It would be wonderful if it were possible to install the steering column with its frame in order to provide the same height and depth adjustment angle as the Peugeot 208 griffe steering wheel, the front panel with its multimedia center and the original steering wheel with all Peugeot controls 208 brand in the Peugeot 206. If in any way it becomes possible to carry out this extraordinary adaptation of all these items of the Peugeot 208 brand in the Peugeot 206 two doors Moonlight the car will revive in a triumphant way and we will thank Peugeot a lot here in Brazil and I also believe in all parts of the planet!
So basically it can be manually raised and lowered by hand as long as you can prop the boot. Thanks! Why didn't they just make it a manual roof eh save us the trouble?
My roof pump is broken and my windows don't go down. I took my roof down manually but now the lid is not locking. I can hear a beep while driving all the time. Any solutions?
Thanks for the clear description and video. But what year Peugeot is this one ? I was looking at a 2001 model (imported from Hong Kong ) just earlier today and on the left side of the inside boot area was a string with a knob on it, looked a bit like a draw-string from old style Venetian blinds, I wondered if THAT was the hydraulic emergency release valve ? But you showed a very different looking valve located on the right side of inside boot area. Cheers from Catherine in New Zealand.
nope.. the ecu that is located behind the rear seat, control the windows and the roof operation.. BTW.. if the windows don't work, check in the boot, remove the upper cover, over the blind boot and ceck if the 2 male connector to the roof ecu are disconnected.. connect both the male connector and the windows will turn back to work.. PS: if there is a fault in the roof, the car could beep if your speed is over 6MPH/10KHM, that beeps are an alert that the trunklid isnt' properly locked, because there isn't pressure in the pump and the lockers of the trunk are free to disengage.

hi Wesley, the car is in the garage at the mo, your right there is a clip behind that bracket, it went into economy mode and closed the roof back into the boot , but the garage guys managed to release the boot , from the back window end to reach inside and release the clips , which way do the white clips face in electrical mode & manual mode , cheers for any more info.
thats good. im not to sure. i had the roof open and close manueally like it did in the video after the electrics failed. i sold the car a couple of months later. that is the problem with these cars. when the roof goes, its difficult to find someone who knows how to fix it.
hi Wes, all sorted now , roof got pulled on and clip into place, and the boot lid in place , but those two white u shaped clips were vital to be in the right position so the boot lid could click shut, Im scared to use it know , mad eh

Quick update. Roof works well and the car passed her MOT with flying colours. Not bad for a 17 year old car 😁

When I try to slam the lid shut it doesn't fully latch closed and can be lifted up again. DO you know how to fix that?

That white plastic mushroom shaped plastic peice should be the guide for allen key on side of pump it just pushes on !

there is no "clip" to pul or push mine has a bolt through it and it does not move ???
it should be there?. try pulling parts of it firmly to open. not from where the bolt itself goes through.

It happened to me n the little back windows was up, just got the car n didn't realise all 4 windows had to be down for the roof to go down lol
