Power's 'contract' isn't actually legit and binding. Back then when Himeno was still around, it was either Aki or Himeno that stated that Fiends can't make a contract (to neither Devil nor Human) and it was Power who made that contract, and not the Blood Devil. It essentially was lip service on Power's part just so she and Denji could part ways with less bitter feelings. It's just like their own cool version of pinky promises, if you think about it. It stings more this way though, and will feel much more rewarding if or when Denji fulfills that 'contract' to her in part 2.
Power is not a fiend at this point bro. Her fiend body got completely destroyed. This is more like a "mindscape", because she is part Pochita now. So the Contract is most likely being made here. Maybe this Contract enables Power to return in some capacity (if Denji fulfills it = making friends with the new blood devil).
@@zigazdovc6175 yeah she was killed but this is still power. Same personality, same blood. She literally says that when the blood devil gets reborn it Wont be her so yeah power is the one talking to denji in his mind.
During the burger scene I always loved how when they’re frantically repeating the Family Burger chant, they yell out the veggies and ingredients the go with the burger but part of there chant is missing because of the dead staff, and the panel just shows the decapitated heads. A fair bit late but a couple of interesting tidbits: Makima's name being the Control Devil is a bit too literal of a title. You might have remembered that she was part of a group known as The Four Horsemen. Well, the first Horsemen, Control, is translated as "Shihai" in Japanese, and in Japanese, her title is "Shihai no Akuma" or the Shihai Devil. Shihai, in a literal sense, translates to control, but I think it's more accurate for her to be known as the Conquest Devil due to her horseman status. In addition I think this chapter hints that whilst Denji might have not had held any feelings for Power, Power might have developed some for him.
@@SomeEuropeanChick thanks for the recommendations! i actually have been interested in reading those so i’m definitely gonna check out the stream since these are so fun :)
man i really have a bit of fear for the anime-only watchers to misjudge denji and the whole series only for the first season, this manga is awesome and the way they treat and develop the characters is so good.
If I am correct, there are some fears that are pretty much essential for the human existence to carry on, so by eating Makima, the control devil, he'd pretty much risk deleting anything to do with control, this could range from governments collapsing into anarchy to full on gravity falls weirdmageddon shit.
I looked it up, the same word the japanese use for "control" is used in their translation of the bible to refer to the first horseman of apocalypse, conquest, the word is Shihai, and aplies to both control and conquest, so maybe if translators knew all the four horseman thing in advance they may have named makima as the conquest devil, seeing war, the SECOND horseman appear as the apparent villain of part 2 just confirms this even more.
One more thing, Shihai is also used to refer to the dominant partner in a BDSM dynamic, meaning "domination", so, in the japanese language all of that is included into the same word, so it makes even more sense that Makima has that strong dominatrix aura.
Seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominion, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels, and angels. Yes, they are very much the hierarchy of angels. Beam is cherubim, Galgalim is the Hebrew name for wheels which are the thrones (the wheels within wheels covered in eyes), and the rest should all be pretty self-explanatory.
I just noticed Fujimoto is so smart he made up 3 out of those 6 words that makima said (ex: soa.) These are the words he made up to make us think like we forgot those to but of course it's not real (chp 84 when makima said the forgoten devil's) to make us confused like kishibe.
Reading that chapter, I'm wondering if the strongest devil is the fear-devil. Makima could've tried to weaken the fear-devil by using chainsaw to eradicate different devils (fears) that plague humanity. The less things people are scared off, the weaker a potential "fear-devil" would become. "we got nothing to fear but fear itself." I'm curious if this could one day happen in the manga.
I was wondering if Denji kept on wondering why Reze never met him again. But if he saw her during the final fight, he might have received a closure and move on from Reze..
You know I have always seen people say that in chapter 83 Denji is completely under Makima's control. But I don't think that's the case. Denji is catatonic. He has no will. And Pochita is in control. The only reason he's not tearing up Makima is because he's lying dormant. Chainsaw man is the Hero of hell. He responds to the cries for help from others. Only then does he act. Pochita was just waiting for someone to call for help. And that someone was Makima. That was what she always intended. Even if she wasn't hurt all she had to say was 'save me' and Pochita would respond.
The Chainsaw Devil is basically hell's version of Doom Slayer Also, I believe that The Chainsaw DEVIL is actually Pochita and The Chainsaw MAN is controlled by Denji
I like your reaction on these chapters. Regarding to the 7 hybrids. When the 4 Horsemen battle against the chainsaw devil in hell Makima the control/conquest devil already have her 7 henchmen or what is known the Weapon Devils they helped the 4 horsemen to beat Pochita. When they were killed they respawned to earth with no memories, but of course Makima searched for them and yes collected them like Pokémon’s. Crossbow devil also known as Quanxi Bomb Devil known as Reze Katana Devil Long Sword Devil Whip Devil Flame Thrower Devil Spear Devil
Yep, yep. Everything that is happening is horrible, utterly horrible buuuuuuut it doesn't matter cause we got to see pochita going on a date, kobenixpochita was the otp all along
The one thing I believe in more than self control is the illusion of control. Fate, destiny, human struggles and our need to control our own life just the way we want is an illusion to the high powers above us. It's similar to drawing two characters in a book and show them struggling to have a better life and you know fully well that you as a 3 dimensional being control the entire narrative of the 2 dimensional characters in the book and if you so choose you can just take away control from them. They wouldn't even know. Because they were never in control in the first place. I will go so far as to say the concept and idea of control doesn't exist for those characters in the book. And so we are just like that. Our fates can be changed if we struggle really hard. Or it can just be that the higher dimensional being that's writing our story just decided that some of us can have a better narrative than others. Humanity is a book, and we have the illusion of control. I don't really believe in God, but the idea and concept of God.
A bit late, but eh. I think her thinking of Makima as God is a bit of a stretch. By definition, God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and by default, Omnipresent at least towards its own creation. Like how an author is to his story. From its past, present, and future. It doesn't matter what you think of it, it can change anything and everything on a whim like how an author can simply rewrite a part of the story. For in its eyes, we are such lowly beings that we're comparable to mere fiction compared to God. It is perfection incarnate above those that exist below it. Makima isn't perfect. She is merely god-like, at least from a mere person's point of view.
i don't think the idea was that Makima is literally an all-powerful god, but that she can be interpreted as a parallel to that kind of being and to a heroic lucifer vs asshole god narrative, and is probably trying to become all-powerful. she's definitely imperfect, and far from all-powerful even if her power is absolutely immense. she doesn't actually have to be omnipotent to occupy that role in analysis of the themes of the narrative
Makima is most certainly not the most evil or vile devil. Just the most problematic because she's the most powerful. Power tried to sacrifice Denji for Meowy in the beginning - an outcome she would have been perfectly fine with. She said and meant it, when she said "I hate humans" in the beginning and that it was like a devil's instinct. If she had been as powerful (and thus as autonomous and independent) as Makima...she sure as hell would not have been any "better". If anything, she would have probably caused a lot more havoc due to her wild and impulsive nature. Which brings me to the Gun Devil. Another powerful devil: are we really going to assume that Makima's body count is higher than the Gun Devil's? I actually doubt it. Either way. Makima is in no way the most evil or vile or cruel. She just has the most autonomy and agency and freedom. Because she is the most powerful.
imo makima is still undeniably bad. She embodies authoritarianism, whatever goals she has, a world dominated by her would NOT be a utopia. Not even close. That's why i'm VERY VERY anti-makima, even though i think results are more importants than intentions in general.
makima this women somehow makes me thinks about mao zedong. Because if you look at those crazy believers who worship Makima, who belives that this woman will bring peace and liberation to the world, unconditionally believing that she will make the world a better place, even if she kills many people by any means to achieve her goals. Mao's fans believe that china in Mao Zedong's era had a better democratic system than modern China and the Western world, and that the disasters caused by that era were entirely caused by his political opponents' deliberate and wrong execution of his orders This is basically fans of Mao.These fans still exist in large numbers in China and some other Third World countries to this day. What's even more terrifying is that the people manipulated by Makima not only exist in comics, but also on the other side of the screen, which is the real world. She literally manipulates people in the real world Just like that man who still manipulates his fans for decades after his death

Truth is the god....closer you are to the truth better for you and humanity....and humanities story is to getting closer to god (truth) but it's a hard journey because nobody is close to it now and that's why everyone has its own truth, even if they think they believe the same thing.
