🙏🏼 Thank you so much for this information Dr Been. I’ve been struggling with Lyme/CFS for years but Covid has made it much worse for nearly 2 yrs now. I feel like a shell of the person I once was but I just figured it was from the grief of losing my mom. It’s like my personality is totally gone. I used to be really funny but I’m not at all anymore and nothing really brings me any joy at all. I’m eager to get my dopamine levels and other hormones tested.

I’m sorry you are suffering. I had mono and lymes years ago. Post covid symptoms have robbed me of what energy I had and depleted my zest for life. I’m 4 months out now. I had my hormones tested thru Life Extensions, and have a hormone supplement that is probably helping, but it’s hard to tell.

It’s important to state that potassium can be low instead of high. Many Addison’s patients experience this and even have normal labs, especially in the beginning. I think it’s important to state that so doctors diagnose before a full blown crisis. I was diagnosed with POTS and working on getting labs for this condition as well. Went from mountain running to bedridden overnight. Also, now diagnosed with MCAS. I never had straight forward Covid symptoms back in March 2020, so frustrating

Overview of air pollution and endocrine disorders.
Published online 2018 may 23, NIH. National library of medecine.
    Abstract;
Over recent years, many environmental pollutant chemicals have been shown to possess the ability to interfere in the functioning of the endocrine system and have been termed endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). These compounds exist in air as volatile or semi-volatile compounds in the gas phase or attached to particulate matter. They include components of plastics (phthalates, bisphenol A), components of consumer goods (parabens, triclosan, alkylphenols, fragrance compounds, organobromine flame retardants, fluorosurfactants), industrial chemicals (polychlorinated biphenyls), products of combustion (polychlorinated dibenzodioxins/furans, polyaromatic hydrocarbons), pesticides, herbicides, and some metals. This review summarizes current knowledge concerning the sources of EDCs in air, measurements of levels of EDCs in air, and the potential for adverse effects of EDCs in air on human endocrine health.

Thank you this was very interesting and informative. As many, I have had LC for nearly a year now... Nov last year I kinda crashed after feeling better, I suddenly developed an intolerance to the cold, head pain which I believe to be in the Hyperthalamus/PGland area... it improved around Xmas once I was on some beta blockers,, a few weeks ago my Drs finally did a Cortisol text which came back just below normal, my Sodium and Potassium levels were also normal, so I was sent for a Synacthen test Friday just gone. I got the very same head pain throughout the day, woke up Sat and felt amazing, and today I now feel bad again... my Thyroid tests also come back normal.... I've put weight on, hate the cold, low energy/mood and my hair appears to be growing better, which makes this sound like Hypothyroidism... yet all my tests so far look good......

I just want to add, women have more complex hormonal cycles and changes, over the day, month, and life; which makes physiological homeostasis more complex also.
That is the reason we are more prone to imbalances. Not because our immunity is more aggressive, rather it is more easily aggravated due to many more complex hormonal cascades according to these various cycles which men do not have.

If the heart security is not overloaded, the body restored by feed of rest and of course favorite health spirit. My father was a study on both, Pete called phd heart Ohio health...my mother had it too. They'd have stayed in better health if non interference was the continued asset. The parents did the studies for heart health and longevity...the old surgical boots are wonderful while the body repairs ...they actually give rest needed to get realigned for maximum use..of course I perimeter of conditions. I love how my Excellent drive vanished for over a month after clearing covid. I thought my depression, anxiety , dizziness, confusion, memory loss was bad but then ... my antenna said it needed a long break . I looked back and said , well I wasn't interested , anyways .
Since I was 7 years old , I've had a drive like a mad man . Oddly , my wife was sick with me , and yup , we both had hit zero . She also has a drive like myself. We've been married for 20 years . We don't miss snuggle time . But alpha simply snuffed it right out without a warning.
But worth noting , at the beginning of recovery , maybe first couple of weeks , I had zero emotions. Looking back , my world was coming apart in a hurry and I simply had no emotion , no anxiety , no worry , no laughing , but physical pain , headaches like nothing I've ever had or heard about in my life.
After a short period , my memory started coming back in really broken fragments, along with emotions . Those emotions came back with a vengeance. All I can compare it to was being akin to my mother's manic depressive, but up and downs were going full swing withing an hour or two , not days or weeks . It was pure insanity.
But wait there's more ( TV commercial voice)
Trying to urinate was very difficult, but it wasn't a bladder infection , and then came a flu feeling and sweating, dizziness, and gout in my left ankle . I would take AZO with copious amounts of water , and within 24 hours , incredible broken ankle feeling , flu , sweating etc all would lift off.
It's been really fun being self employed while going through this with no insurance, lol .
God is good , all the time.
I am mostly recovered now. Down to occasionally needing dimatap , and zyrtec daily . Lots of water.

For background , I work in am extremely high risk field that has way too many variables to fully control contraction of surface and semi airborne pathogens. Thankfully , anything I'm in contact with is not novel to the public at large . All common stuffs .

I think the one called ace2 is not the one entering spleen to flow through connecting to old cells to dump in stomach for waste. I think that cell was not yo Ttcg in sequence to white cell or a ce2. Once the sepsis analogy is done, you'll see a double vision of how others go bad . If the immunity making cells grab without relieving the old cells from body, it's bound to make a mess. If you ever notice, especially in throat and areas that go septic..or streptococcus...it's like having that create sepsis in another fashion. It isn't clear to me which messes up the other. Does the immunity cell go rancid after this bile assisting cell or the other way ? That supposed neutral cell must be bad before , or it wouldn't attract white blood cells or the other immunity cells.. it's not seeming like it's following it's DNA chain. That's why the thought mirilax would fit...imo.

I know someone who's struggled with CFS for about 10 years.
This was a result of a string of viral infections that doctors put down to just being viral and get on with it.
Post viral fatigue lasted over a year and still doctors did nothing. The result...chronic CFS. Overhaul of the inmune system.
Knowledge about how long Covid affects the body has provided some relief. There are many similarities in symptoms in long covid and CFS.
The only time CFS got better was with a simple yet restrictive diet and change in lifestyle: the patient changed jobs to a less stressful one, did low level physio exercises built very gradually over two years to 30 minutes.
Diet eliminated all processed food, most sugars and included plenty of infused water. Just eat as natural as possible.
Vitamin d3, omega 3 & 6, zinc magnesium and selenium a must as well as collagen supplements which were taking rigidly everyday.
This done over the course of two years greatly improved the symptoms. However patient had to take a new job, more money, more hours and more stress. All above was not followed leading to a flare up of all those symptoms again.

thank you for the info, this sounds right on. I am a Raven type researcher and can't resist adding these additional needs, for managing recovery:
Live foods: I think making sure over half, preferrable 80% of food is "alive" or live foods, lots of them being GREEN LEAFY, and bright colors, would really begin to help. These live foods, recognized by their natural bright colors, have the correct energy/information [molecular bond photon frequencies] to regenerate ATP production machinery and more.
SLEEP: Plus we need deep restorative [delta brainwave] sleep, for cleaning up daytime cellular trash...
LIGHT: And very importantly we all need NATURAL sunlight, not just taking D but getting real sunlight. Also by avoiding unbalanced light spectrums of toxic LEDs and supertoxic Fluorescents, we may continue to tweak our health to optimum happiness and efficiency. Many who get away from all fluorescents report enhanced energy/less fatigue. (and many who spend time under fluorescents, at the office, report fatugue and exaustion).
Blessings & peace. May some of this info find its way to those who need it. ❤❤❤

I agree fully with the plan you outline. Diet and pacing(taking it easy) are without a doubt the most powerful tools. The illness appears to flare up with inflammation or oxidative stress. I can't or won't however because the effect diet and lifestyle choicses on my condition is far too profound. 50% reduction in symptom severity at least.
From my experience the pecking order of most effective to least is.
      1) Pacing - use less energy. Do less work.
      2) Gut health based antiinflammatory diet (paleo or other)
      3) Natural antiinflammatories and antioxidants (curcumin, gingerol, phytonutrients, herbs and spices)
      4) Sleep and or meditation (over thinking or stress management)
      5) Avoiding where possible negative environmental conditions, infections extreme temperatures etcetera.
      6) Other over the counter nutraceuticals. These help but let food be thy medicine.
      7) Movement and gentle exercise. Difficult. However necessity at times. Tai chi, yoga etc. Move lymphatic fluids. Improve venous return. Proprioception and mobility. This can be complicated and painfully slow. Due to balancing flare ups with a plan. But if you don't move it. You lose it. So a balance does and should exist. It must however be gentle.

I would have thought that yes it can regulate itself over time, in the right conditions.
Disrupted endocrine systems will take considerably longer, or maybe never regulate, if they are continually exposed to endocrine disruptors, at levels greater than the individual's ability to cope.
We don't all have the same ability to cope, or the same individual exposure, so considerably reducing endocrine disruptor exposition, will help reduce the time to recovery and reduce the risk of never recovering.
