But the Amnesiac ability can be **ANYTHING**. It might be cute to give someone an ability like "You learn how many people voted for the Demon" to let them feel smart for figuring it out. But if you give someone an ability like "Your vote is counted once for each day you've been alive", they can still have an influence on the game before figuring it out, and feel super powerful immediately after learning how good it is! I was seriously hoping that Adam was going to be put on the chopping block day one, because I wanted to see something unprecedented happen, and it was a right shame it didn't. Here's hoping we can get more intriguing and immediately useful Amnesiacs in the future!
Pretty sure the reason why Dom was happy to die was because he got a 'quite warm' with regards to his ability having something to do with drunkenness or poisoning. I feel it's probable his thinking was that he had an ability that made people drunk, which is why he was willing to die as it would be a detriment to the town. Unfortunately for him, he had not figured out it was a Vortox at that point.
It’s interesting to see how much more willing the NRB crew are to kill an Amnesiac early than the more experienced players over at TPI’s own streams. I guess when you are still working to get your head around all the roles, abilities and combinations on the script, having a character that can have _any_ ability just becomes too much mental noise.

Totally agree! Although calling it a “Hail Mary” undercuts his sleuthing a bit. He was silently trying to find the damsel the entire game and at the very end knew it was either Brooke or that Brooke and Mara had done role swap to throw off the minions. What a game!
Ben, that was a seriously impressive Amnesiac ability, given this game's evil team. It very elegantly gave the potential to thwart both minions and it could have given the town a really solid piece of info even if Dom picked a town that got executed.
Tom and Ben would be such an interesting villain duo. There’s Tom looking all dapper in his suit and speaking gruesome poetry with Shakespearean levels of flair, and then there’s casual, deadpan Ben who’s really the mastermind of the whole operation. I’d watch a movie about them.
I don't know, maybe in the in-person games, but I'm still going to cast my vote for when he was the lunatic and pretty much _immediately_ figured it out 🤣
Nothing I look forward to more than these videos to be honest, I have seen all the Blood On The Clocktower episodes (online and in person) and I still can't get enough!
The whole group is great, but I gotta say the absolute star of these videos is the editor(s). Sifting through all those private conversations and piecing this all together into a coherent story has got to be a herculean task. Every one of these videos is fantastic. Also, SPOILERS props to Adam for a steller overall game in this one. He's had a rough time in a lot I've seen in the past but he managed this one quite well and then of course pulls off the actual winning move.
Carley's little "It was my fault" at 1:18:30 makes me so sad, I hope she doesn't feel too bad about how the game ended. It's a very complicated script and she did a good job to find her damsel, it was just unfortunate that Adam also worked it out
I mean, you win some you lose some. It's not like Carley hasn't proven time and time again that she's a BOTC Mastermind. Don't think anyone really "blames" her
This one is on her though. Tough script and easy to say watching but three turns is a long time to wait before using the huntsman’s ability. Adam did get very lucky although he didn’t have too many people to pick from.
@@Kings_Quest I actually think Carley's reputation as a BoTC Queen is a little over-rated. She does often work things out and pieces things together but she doesn't win friends or influence people along the way which is part of a social deduction game. For instance in this game, nobody glommed onto the fact that in a vortox game Carley was 100% good via Dan's empath, they were so distrusting of her they landed on either Carley and mara were both good or both bad, which isn't possible. On NRB Carley has a 56.5% win rate, just barely above the 54.83% average.
@@SPACKlick perks of being a good liar ig. Idk I don't think the disparity is that big, I just hear the rest always mention that and I think she's also been on the PDI streams which means she's at least experienced. Someone who tries to take a lot of control over the game is always going to be met with a level of distrust. Overall, I think Carley just got kinda unlucky/kinda misplayed, no big deal
Absolutely brilliant ending. It's wonderful to see how much better this group of folks is getting at this game as you continue this series. No one even hard claimed as the demon!
I'm right at the start when they're describing roles. Alchemist could be a good bluff for a demon with a Poppy grower in play, because if you bluff a minion ability that is in play that minion will know something is up. Requires a bit of luck to work, but it could pay off.
I really appreciate the sports-ass narration between game-runners + the tokens and names showing up on people all the time. Great vibes all around. I usually don't like more complicated "werewolf" iterations but the way this one is handled and some of the details of the rules make it much more enjoyable; it retains the social gossip angle instead of turning into pure logic/deduction like some versions tend to. Genius play at 45:25
That winning move was sheer genius! Clever thinking on the spot that sealed it. Great episode, as always. Also, nice to have some Crowded House to play out on.
How surreal - I saw Mara on stage in person just a few months ago as part of Spontaneous Potter. I had no idea they were part of No Rolls Barred but I recognzied them instantly at the start of this video, small world!
I absolutely enjoyed this game. I re-watch a lot of BOTC. The in-person games aren't nearly as re-watchable. You feel like you have to watch rather than listen. But boy oh boy, does that first initial watch and surprise have more investment. Like watching a movie rather than listening to a podcast. Incredible content. We appreciate you all.
I was looking for something to watch with a bored ass face, and my soul just suddenly lit up my whole body when I saw this notif. My favorite thing to watch on YT, ever.
I know lots of people are saying that Adam distracting Carley was what ultimately led to that Damsel win, but I think that Dan’s conviction that this wasn’t a vortex game was what was distracting her the most. She was focusing so hard on proving to him that she wasn’t evil. Also, Brooke was the only person who believed Dan’s info was true and thought Carley was evil the whole time, which was another factor that led to them not speaking.
Everyone having a good laugh that Luke gossiped if he was Luke to check if he was drunk, but I think it was the best thing the good team did. It ensured that he wasn't drunk, he was confirmed good and it made his second gossip the most valuable piece of information.
Never really thought about it before now, but looking at the icon for the Amnesiac... That's a baller design. Whoever thought of that: Nice. That's... That's really clever.
Holy heck didn’t expect this to come out this evening. That’s my weekend booked with watching this and then rewatching a ton of the other by consequence 😢
I'm afraid I've spotted a significant error at 7:21 - Tom says "Mechanically speaking..." but then does not talk in a hilarious robot voice. Hopefully this can be corrected and re-uploaded.
PLEASE make another kickstarter for a season 2! I wasn't able to help fund the first one but would absolutely love to invest in another round of BoTC In-Person episodes!! Literally these episodes are so fun in person! Thank you guys so much for making these, all of you have wonderful personalities and really make this game shine!
Between the script and some of the player choices this game was absolutely evil in the best possible way. And somehow in all that Jon went on to put in an all-time bit running his own BOTC with all his 'friends'
And just like that, just when I thought Adam was the worst BOTCT player I'd ever seen, he totally redeems himself. What a brilliant play from start to finish. Claiming Goblin publicly, sowing seeds (quietly but not TOO quietly) of a Poppy Grower so that the evil team can bring up the possibility without seeming suspicious and opening up the real Poppy Grower to double claim and possibly out themself publicly, and then calling Brooke's (admittedly poor) bluff that she had a once per game ability that she was cagey about and hadn't used yet on DAY THREE - all masterstrokes. Evil wants to sow chaos, but he did it with an alibi that made sense to the good team, and with a bluff that meant that even if the good team thought he was evil, they were taking a huge risk to execute him (which is also a competent Poppy Grower play if they want to play aggressively), and even if they did call his bluff, his Boomdandy ability meant it would STILL be bad for the good team. Hilariously, this game with the Poppy Grower seems like EXACTLY the game Adam wanted in the ill-fated game "with" Tempest. Just pure chaos where even evil doesn't actually know what's going on. And he killed it.
I feel really bad for Luke because I actually thought his play of gossiping ‘I’m Luke’ was quite good but the fact that was the only info he got before being murdered and everyone shit on him for that makes it look really bad
@@yugiwinninglex true it wasn’t the best thing he could have done but it wasn’t as bad a play as it ended up looking, he also thought it would prove a vortox or not which it doesn’t but can’t really blame him for not realising that, it was funny though
Evil wld have lost if not for the damsel. The demon candidate narrowed down to like 3 person which includes 2 evil. Also the damsel shld have somehow got someone else to kill them like claiming they are amne and drunk someone lol
@@yugiwinninglex Brooke only went undetected so long honestly because of the poppy grower. Reckon Adam would have guessed it sooner had he known who his demon and fellow minion was
Such a great game for Adam. Just one flaw: when he played outed evil, he shouldn’t have said he was the Goblin. He should have lied about being some other minion. This is not because the claim of Goblin would confuse a real Goblin. It is because as Boomdandy he wants to get executed, and town will not execute him if they think he is the real Goblin.
One of my favourite ever BoTC game. Lots of chaos, lots of tension and a great ending. Really nice to see Dan and Mara as well, the strength of the rotating cast for the games is amazing

I missed out on backing the first time but there’s no way I wouldn’t back a future kickstarter for this
100% would back again
yes! i missed out the first round, would definitely back for another "season"
"We've all enjoyed it, haven't we?" *cut to Carley and Laurie giving death stares* 😂
Ben, that was a seriously impressive Amnesiac ability, given this game's evil team. It very elegantly gave the potential to thwart both minions and it could have given the town a really solid piece of info even if Dom picked a town that got executed.
Thanks dude!
There is something incredibly funny about the voice of god saying "either you're lying or I fucked up"
Poor Laurie. His power this game is just “you have no power, and also you’re very confused”
This episode had EVERYTHING. Sully’s “the hot gossip around town…” line absolutely killed me laughing 😂. Up there in my fave episodes for sure.
Adam's face upon learning he's the boomdandy is gold
Exactly like a kid who received exactly what they asked for for Christmas day
This was the best, most entertaining Adam performance yet!
I don't know, maybe in the in-person games, but I'm still going to cast my vote for when he was the lunatic and pretty much _immediately_ figured it out 🤣
I'll take the time Adam was the dreamer and he just kept being targeted by the ceronovus
coming to you from the future if you haven't already seen the most recent one Adam definitely one-ups himself
I agree
* Jon really said "I don't have a bit" then gave us the best BOTC bit ever
Nothing I look forward to more than these videos to be honest, I have seen all the Blood On The Clocktower episodes (online and in person) and I still can't get enough!
The whole group is great, but I gotta say the absolute star of these videos is the editor(s). Sifting through all those private conversations and piecing this all together into a coherent story has got to be a herculean task. Every one of these videos is fantastic.
Also, SPOILERS
props to Adam for a steller overall game in this one.
I've noticed that Brooke and Carley rarely have private chats in botc. I think if the damsel was any other character, Carley would have gotten it
@@Kings_Quest I actually think Carley's reputation as a BoTC Queen is a little over-rated.
Kudos to Editor James for that lovely musical epilogue! I look forward to it the most
Probably my favorite ending to a game of BotC ever
This and last month when Isaac turned adam
Sully's first ever game as evil has still got to be my favourite BOTC episode, but this is definitely up there as one of the best endings with it.
@@GwynnDdu you'll never see another demon bluffing clockmaker, that's for sure
The unexpected ending, the unchained laughter of the three, the "I killed you", the absolutely pissed of faces.. bloody brilliant
The best ending of any episode yet I was on the edge of my seat knowing with the time left something crazy was gonna have to end the game soon
Absolutely loving Rosie's design of the set pieces. chef's kiss
The hug at the end had brightened my day, watered my crops, and banished the plague from my lands. They are go SO happy!
Great ending, congrats to the winning team. Love how Adam went full mad genius again, been a while since he did that.
I'm right at the start when they're describing roles. Alchemist could be a good bluff for a demon with a Poppy grower in play, because if you bluff a minion ability that is in play that minion will know something is up. Requires a bit of luck to work, but it could pay off.
I genuinely think, looking back, this is my favorite clocktower episode
Me too
I'm thrilled to have seen the social aspects of a Poppy Grower/Damsel game in person
Happy to see my script again. Thanks guys!
Such a great script. Would be great if @NRB could get you on as a guest!
I think this is my favorite game to date, LEGENDARY play by Adam at the end plus the goblin/poppygrower play. This was very fun to watch
I was looking for something to watch with a bored ass face, and my soul just suddenly lit up my whole body when I saw this notif. My favorite thing to watch on YT, ever.
That is 100% the coldest end to a BOTC game I’ve ever seen. It might be the coldest end to anything I’ve ever seen honestly
Lovely little clue from Adam at 19:44
i didn't even catch that, wow
I know lots of people are saying that Adam distracting Carley was what ultimately led to that Damsel win, but I think that Dan’s conviction that this wasn’t a vortex game was what was distracting her the most. She was focusing so hard on proving to him that she wasn’t evil. Also, Brooke was the only person who believed Dan’s info was true and thought Carley was evil the whole time, which was another factor that led to them not speaking.
That as well, but she spent most private discussion time dealing with Adam lol
@@Moleoflands Yeah, the Huntsman should really speak to everyone as early as possible.
Everyone having a good laugh that Luke gossiped if he was Luke to check if he was drunk, but I think it was the best thing the good team did. It ensured that he wasn't drunk, he was confirmed good and it made his second gossip the most valuable piece of information.
This could very well be my favourite episode, yet. Well done, lads and laddies
This game is right up there with the best of the best! Almost as good as the THAT game when Sully was demon for the first time.
I really hope that these episodes convince people to back future NRB-BotC Kickstarters for more episodes. Love these so much
Dan's refusal to believe that he may have been in a Vortex game was very strange.
I respect both dan's dedication to his role and information and also the deep v of that shirt.
the deep deep v neck and the way he looks like he's always posing it's just great
It's great to see Luke on the in person game, hopefully soon we can see him on some in person BGC next
Just as I was about to watch them all from the beginning again, you upload another!
I'll still rewatch them. Just in 90ish minutes from now
I've watched them all twice but will probably go again even though some early ones have a player I'm not a fan of in them.
Never really thought about it before now, but looking at the icon for the Amnesiac... That's a baller design. Whoever thought of that: Nice. That's... That's really clever.
Oh wow! I didn't spot it until you pointed it out. So subtle yet so good, and style-wise very thematic.
Love it!
@@MarkChimes Yep, I had the same realisation, I just suddenly went "Oh hang on, there's a noggin' in there!"
Holy heck didn’t expect this to come out this evening. That’s my weekend booked with watching this and then rewatching a ton of the other by consequence 😢
Carley saying adams fumble seemed legit early on and then claiming she knew it was fake all along at the end was pretty amusing
I think it was Mark Twain who said "It's easier for Carly to fool someone than to figure out she's been fooled."
I absolutely love Tom's masterful display of word play, the chaos of these BotC games, and the production value of these videos.
I'm afraid I've spotted a significant error at 7:21 - Tom says "Mechanically speaking..." but then does not talk in a hilarious robot voice. Hopefully this can be corrected and re-uploaded.
I got a mighty chuckle out of Jon as the Storyteller!
Brooke's face at 1:12:00 just screams "THE AUDACITY"
PLEASE make another kickstarter for a season 2! I wasn't able to help fund the first one but would absolutely love to invest in another round of BoTC In-Person episodes!! Literally these episodes are so fun in person! Thank you guys so much for making these, all of you have wonderful personalities and really make this game shine!
You can see it on all their faces *cuts to a couple of people looking absolutely livid*
That got me :')
SPOILERS
Loved Adam’s chaotic play in this game! And it paid off! I don’t think I had seen a Damsel win yet.
This episode solidified Dom as my favorite member
certainly the main character
Hey for once Adam’s instincts were correct. Never thought I’d see the day.
Between the script and some of the player choices this game was absolutely evil in the best possible way. And somehow in all that Jon went on to put in an all-time bit running his own BOTC with all his 'friends'
I can't wait to see what chaos is in store today!
Good luck to everyone!!
I look forward to these every single month! You guys are just the best!! 💕
So good! Watching again after the early release for us backers.
I feel really bad for Luke because I actually thought his play of gossiping ‘I’m Luke’ was quite good but the fact that was the only info he got before being murdered and everyone shit on him for that makes it look really bad
Cause it doesn't really do anything besides proving his not drunk.
@@yugiwinninglex true it wasn’t the best thing he could have done but it wasn’t as bad a play as it ended up looking, he also thought it would prove a vortox or not which it doesn’t but can’t really blame him for not realising that, it was funny though
What an absolute whiplash ending! What an episode! I should really get back to work but these episodes are addictive.
The jumper moment was the most British thing my American self has seen in a while. Just needed some tea and it would have been perfect
Oh Tom you have WAY too much fun with your announcer roll sir.
Hands down, Adam, Sully, and Jon are my favorite evil team of all time.
Today I learned that Jon gracey was an actor in the Magnus archives and if I didn’t love him enough already his bit in this episode was so good
it's our gerry!
Wait I didn’t know that!!! I was jsut trying to convince one of my friends who loves tma to watch no rolls barred, my persuasive power has increased 🎉
Oh shit I had no idea!
The comical bonk of Carley hitting her head at the end is amazing
I watched this when it dropped and I'm already back to rewatch it. This episode has been living rent free in my head ever since first play.
Nice job by Adam honestly. Kept the good team, but mostly Carley, occupied so long that she didn't figure out the Damsel fast enough
Reckon Adam would have guessed it sooner had he known who his demon and fellow minion was
I love seeing Sully and Adam win together, it feels like they're always on opposite teams even during other games.
But he is daring them to do it. All evils will claim goblin
I’m just happy Luke got to play in person🥰
This is such a good chaos episode! These just keep on getting better
One of my favourite ever BoTC game. Lots of chaos, lots of tension and a great ending. Really nice to see Dan and Mara as well, the strength of the rotating cast for the games is amazing
The triple handshake at the end with them just complimenting each other was gold.
Oh yay! Super weird timing though. I caught up on the previous episodes last night and was wondering when the next episode would drop!
And Ben's hair is a life goal.
The timing for the last few months would appear to be this: a live action game on the second last Saturday of the month and then a Zoom game on Patreon the following week.
yet again, the throuple is at the heart of another BotC game
Wow--- I'm catching this an hour after upload. I'm so excited for this!
"And on the second night..."
Oh no.
Haha yeah i was like "balloonist! Great bluff! Just point to a person and they can't disprove it (except with outsiders, but on this script outsiders are pretty quiet).
But then he continued "and on night two..."
