    How does 38% 3pt shooter who can get you 17-18 ppg off the ball not fit with Cade? Now Detroit has Fontecchio, Harris, and Hardaway as efficient floor spaces. While not having to give up on your core pieces

    First round picks in the NBA are a crap shoot at best. This isn’t the NFL, the draft in basketball is a joke. You can have three first rounders every year for years and not hit on a star. Just look at the history of the draft, some years only one guy is worthy of the money.

  • @Stank-Stankson
    @Stank-Stankson 2 месяца назад

    Definitely can see Cade checking out & wanting out after next season if we don’t at least come close to a potential play in situation for sure. The man is going on his 3rd head coach in a row in a losing situation while in his prime. And I like Cade he’s shown me that he can be our franchise player and lead us, but Trajan has to finish the job off because hardaway jr and Tobias aren’t enough.

    Do people forget that Cade Cunningham was a former #1 overall pick? Teams draft players that high to be franchise setters. All I'm hearing is about this guy being potentially frustrated and leaving. How about that HE set the tone for this Pistons revival? His career has been just ok and that's not what you're looking for in a #1 overall player. He just got his extension...now it's time for Cade to lead. He should be starting to take that next step, which is a threat to make some All-Star teams. He needs to be the tip of the spear for the Pistons

    This deal is perfect. It’s 2 years, 25 mill which is basically average starter NBA salary for a guy who is an absolute pro and WANTS to be here. If Harris balls out for us, he can even be a trade chip again for a contender, we need contracts that can be used to match in deals regardless. Great move. Also Cade is in no position to make any demands, kid is already injury prone and hasn’t show any ability to play winning basketball.

    Ok Mike, I’ll bite. As long as our 1st belongs to the Knicks for the foreseeable future, it limits what we can do to win now. Star FAs ain’t coming here. Pistons must develop their assets from within and through trades. Taking on dead money for 1st RD picks means taking on culture killers or long term cap killers like Lavine. You really can’t worry about what Cade MIGHT do in 3 years because at this point he’s probably not even a top 50 player. We have young men on this team whose value plummeted because of poor team building and poor coaching. You want first round picks and trade assets? Develop Ivy, Duran, Holland, Ausar, Sasser, and Cade. You want FAs to come here? Build through the draft, develop In house assets, create a team culture, and forge a new identity. The new CBA will provide opportunities for small market teams and limit player empowerment. It also increases the value of those 2nd RD picks we got from Dallas. This is essentially year 1.5 of a new rebuild and that’s the reality of it. Joe Harris, Killian Hays, Monte Morris, Bagley, Wiseman, Burkes, mixed with Monty Williams wasn’t the solution. This team is already improved from last year and the coming trade deadline will be another opportunity to pick up more 1st RD picks and dead money players. Cade will be better this year simply due to roster construction, coaching, and maturity. Can we at least get 90 cents on the dollar be for we fire sale our distressed assets?

    You have to give Cade some real NBA talent. Otherwise he's going to continue to turn the ball over and develop bad habits. Harris at least gives a real NBA starter to play 30 minutes a night with. Rico's idea is to accumulate 1st round picks and put a minor league lineup on the court every night. How has that worked the last two years?

      Facts lol? The facts are that Trajon has to build up our distressed assets and overpay to get FAs to come here. Let’s just sell low on all of our young players, for 1st round picks in 2029… that way the next team president and GM will have something to work with. They have a very limited path to get better this offseason and so far they’ve upgraded this team far more than last offseason. Gone are: Bagley, Joe Harris, Monte Morris, Wiseman, Hayes, Burks, Bogy and Monty Williams. We are slowly bringing in draft capital, shooters, new coaching, new culture, all while maintaining our young core. They must develop their assets and if Cade doesn’t get better, do you think he’ll have the leverage to ask out? He’s like the 50-60 best player in the league right now.

    Mike doesn’t know basketball for real, he didn’t want Jaylen Brown because supposedly he was a one handed bandit and the Pistons would be idiots to want him.
    That’s just one recent take. He also wanted us to draft Bismack Biyombo in 2011. I don’t think talent evaluation is or ever was his thing.
    Not being paid to be psychics but he has little credibility when talking basketball. We’re just such garbage as an organization right now that none of these takes really matter. Rico doesn’t challenge Mike on hardly any basketball takes so welcome to the echo chamber.
