Piston fans need to understand that it’s not about who you want it’s about who wants to be here.. NO ONE WANTS TO BE HERE, no coach wants to coach here and no player wants to play here, fans should’ve gotten a clue when Trajan said that agents were telling their players not to work out for the Pistons and when an assistant coach removed his name from consideration. So I love the Bickerstaff hire because HE WANTS TO BE HERE, I love the Harris signing because HE WANTS TO BE HERE.. more than likely Your favorite free agent did not want to be here or your favorite coaching candidate did not want to be here, and we should have learned our lesson about throwing a bunch of money to someone that doesn’t want to be here

Excellent points. A team with good chemistry or even better chemistry than what we had…which now I assume we have…should equate to double the wins minimum. We shall see but complaining about these moves makes no sense to me. Most fans aren’t realistic about the stuff you’ve mentioned and in general. Definitely better than a year ago on all levels.

No, it was the owner Tom Gores who had created this mess in the first place by throwing out a lot of money to a guy who didn't want to be here but only took the job for the money while Ex-GM Troy Weaver wished to hire a different coach when he didn't have a chance to do so. But other than that, you're on point with many things you said.

I believe that this is a great pick up for the Pistons because Tobias will fit with the pieces that we already have especially if they play him at the four. He also provides great veteran experience that our young core desperately needs, he’s not over aggressive with the ball so that’ll give the young players an opportunity to utilize their skill sets. I love the pick up, Let’s Go Pistons…

I like the moves so far IF the new coach can do this right. Development matters more than wins right now and let's see what Cade can do with 3 shooters on the floor. A lineup with Cade, THJ, Fontecchio, Tobias and Duren/Stew gives Cade a lineup with at least 3 shooters on the floor, we'll be able to see Cades potential as that guy. (Btw, there's plenty of good pg's that have been successful without every player needing to be a shooter) I still think Cade shouldn't play pg,I think he impacts winning more when he starts off the ball on most possessions.
Trajan seems to be doing what Weaver was, maybe a little better, but time will tell. J.B. will be better than Monty, but I'm still hesitant that he's the right coach. THJ and Tobias help with the shooting issue, but if that cuts too far into Ivey, Ausar and Holland's playing time, that's not good long term.

    1) you’re laying it on a little thick with the Grimes adulation, he was Killianish; 2) THJr is a more adequate NBA player than Gary Harris, GH is the definition of not good enough.
Although I’d rather have Not Good Enough Sr. (Tobias) starting at PF over Stew, I agree that we way overpaid for Tobias. Even if it is only 2 yrs, $26M per year is asinine.

I like what Trajan has done so far. I hope he can absorb another "sin" contract for additional assets and hopefully address a backup PG (Tyus Jones) and a Rim Protecting Big (Goga Bitadze). Sign another shooter with the Mid Level, and let the young guys grow within a rotation, not throwing them in the deep end of the pool to sink or swim.

Was hoping for 1 year deals on guys like Harris to flip at the deadline. Hardaway is on his last year at least. Hopefully Harris can give us a decent year and a half to give the young guys a reliable player to develop with and then we get an asset for him the 2nd year at the deadline.

@scottwickett1273 We got to have faith. Maybe Cade will take his game to another level. Or maybe JD or JI will break out now they are in year 3. Tim and Tobias still have a bit left in the tank and can serve as good vets on the court to mentor the young guys. Maybe Malachi Flynn will drop a couple of 50 bombs this year. And we got 25 mil to add another vet to the team.

Harris, Fontecchio, and Duren are a good frontline. Holland/Thompson should be brought along (Holland more slowly) so as Harris begins to age; they can replace him in the starting lineup. I think the plan now is development, so I don't think Holland should be forced into the rotation.

I think the Pistons are forced, at this time, to take on overpriced players like Tobias Harris. Harris makes us better. The Pistons must, at least, get better before other better free agents will even consider coming to Detroit. We are probably a laughing stock to the big free agents that won't even consider coming here. A year or two of improvement then we can start attracting other better players. I'm good with what we are doing. 👍

I don't agree with the Hardaway and Harris pickup. Their defense is questionable. Pistons need a true point guard with good decision making; brains. I agree, Cade needs to play off the ball...he gets stripped a lot and misses his shooters. He may not trust them in close games. They need a 6'10 or 6'11 power forward who can block, rebound, and shoot the 3 effectively. They are getting beat when playing against teams with a good 4 and 5 starting. Pistons could only find these 2 veteran guys to help them win? There are tougher players in the league.
