The best version of I Don't Live Today! This and the Albert Hall version. This version is like a *uckin bomb dropped from another planet! God bless Jimi and the Band!
There iz 1, where Hendrixmentionz ELECTRIC CHURCH. Datz my favorite version. Small snatchez of THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER, r within da solo. Noelz playing, iz top notch. Mitch, azz usual, iz also brilliant. Da version, I LOVE, has been taken down, BUTT I'm sure sumbody will repost soon. Hendrix material iz staying up, lately. I LOOK 4WARD 2 IT & so should u!
Yes. Underrated for some damn reason is his last concert at that L.A. Forum in 1970. SSB is mind-blowing in that one. I had a borrowed bootleg of the one that said Coca-Cola on the cover. Thank God for technology. So many just sounded too crappy to truly enjoy yet you could tell if his playing was on or not. Can't believe how this sounds. Mixing board recording I guess.
I believe the best version of "I Don't Live Today" was a bootleg concert from the Forum, where Mitch Mitch starts out with an extended drum solo introduction. For the longest time, from the beginning, this was my favorite Experience tune. Of course, the irony, in retrospect, isn't lost on me.
this version of this song is close 2 the 1ST the song is longer and JIMI plays alot more I can when he feels good the songs are better and they are from the heart 😊❤ and soul W feelings 😊😊OMG 6 7 2O23
A young and nervous Martin Barre just talked recently of how on the earliest tour with Jethro...ha-ha, he was backstage with Jimi. Martin said that he was so kind and later he met many other guitar Gods but Jimi was soft=spoken instead of egomaniacal and meanspirited. And Martin was on his first tour outside of England too. Wow. So many years later these true tales are coming out. And these recordings. Shocked it sounds this clear.
One can tell it's a later gig by the original Experience line-up simply due to the fact that Noel can't keep quiet, if nothing else. Otherwise, excellent stuff!
@@Albrecht777 yes, him thanking the audience like they were there to see him and not Jimi. Wanna be band leader; his post-Hendrix band, Fat Mattress, was absolutely terrible.
@@bojansson8719 The first show was videotaped, and is frequently on RUclips. The story goes, Jimi and the guys were extremely wasted, and Hendrix was in a cranky mood during the first show...so Noel somehow scored some "leapers"-amphetamines, and the 2nd show was much more lively...but not vieotaped, just recorded on the radio. Later on that evening, Jimi had enough energy left over, to make a Swedish girlfriend pregnant!...The result was some person named "Jimi Jr" by his mom, Eva Sundqvist. That person has transitioned to being a female.
@@curbozerboomer1773Thanks for your comment! Another funny thing about the first show is Jimi dedicating it to Eva who he claims he never met before. When JHE first played in Stockholm (may 24 1967) they met by chance though, with Jimi asking a girl for the direction to Tivoli Gardens. That girl happened to be Eva.
10 minutes of sheer cosmic genius exploding ! Thank you J I M I H E N D R I X & E X P E R I E N C E for the music! ☮🕊❤💥

Hendrix played another excellent version of this tune, in April of 1969, at the Forum in Los Angeles.

The "Concerts" version is the absolute best its also on "In the West".
San Diego 69 still beats this performance in terms of audio quality and performance. But this still is a solid version by the master.
wow i wish i owned an artifact so rare as that tiny piece of paper
Kids today=think "Bucket head " is the G.O.A.T -LOL
both hendrix and bucket are inspirational guitarist
That song for Wally if completed could have been one of the greatest blues songs ever played
@ Jim Carty "Hear My Train A Comin".
That doesn’t sound like “Hear my train” that’s something else

This was the 2nd show for Sweden 1969 that's floating around on RUclips. The black and white show. There's no know video of it.
How many times have I heard this? And how many different ways?
Great fuzz tone sounds awesome
😔They got the beat

Absolutely insane!!! Where and what date was this show?
Konserthuset, Stockholm, Sweden. January 9, 1969.
Second of two shows, both recorded by Swedish radio.
