I think Brenda going to Paris was a good thing for the character of Dylan because it sort of freed him from the Brenda and the Walsh family and he got involved himself in his own things like reconnecting with his father.
i read Luke had a horrible dad in real life, abusing his mom, but got a great step-dad in exchange, and Luke's dad died apparently only 35 years old from heart attack
