They'll sow chaos to maintain their grip, so to your viewers, I say: be vigilant, speak out when you see something wrong, and don't fear judgment. We're in unstable times, but there's hope; keep pushing towards the light at the end of the tunnel. Love your content, brother. Stay safe!
Jamal, former USAF KC135 air crew member here. You are correct - people do not pay attention. According to the NTSB, there were 1,017 non-fatal and 199 fatal plane crashes in 2023, that is an average of over three per day. Granted, the vast majority of these crashes are small, privately owned aircraft - but it gives insight to the reality of air travel. This is not to argue the fact that air travel remains the overall safest form of transportation by mile traveled - it is. However, when a large commercial aircraft is involved it brings other incidents (that occur regularly) into sharper focus. This incident MAY have been a compressor stall, a not uncommon (but spectacular) engine issue resulting from air flow being disrupted in the engine. If indeed it was a compressor stall, there could have been any of a hundred things that caused it. My heart goes out to the passengers who had to abandon the aircraft, and my greatest respect goes to all the crew members who quickly, safely, and professionally, evacuated the aircraft.

Every 6 months crews practice in a simulator and demonstrate that they can safely handle an engine fire, engine failure, or just about any other situation. We definitely are seeing them in the public eye more this week because of the crash last week (Only one in more than a decade). The only way to be perfectly safe is to never leave your front door. I don't blame anyone who is scared to fly because of the news cycle this week. But I can attest that you're safer flying than you are driving to the airport on any given day.
