    Hello everyone! By Nazi occupation of Poland I meant Nazi German occupation of Poland or just German occupation of Poland. I don’t have any political agenda and the aim of the video is to show how much I admire this city and how beautiful it is nowadays, even after everything that happened. Greetings and thanks for watching 🙌🏽

      Relax, Jose, it is obvious you cannot feel the difference. But Poles can, so we clarify wherever we can how it actually was. You did a great job for Poland, do appreciate and thank you. Looking forward for more and not only about Poland. Tell us sth about your home country. Edit: have you been in Kraków? Strongly recomended. If you want to touch Polish thousand-years history, you need to come to Kraków.

      Yeah, Jan is right. Don’t worry if you got flooded with comments on that topic, they are not an attack but a reminder.
      In Western media we started seeing ‘Polish concentration camps’ when it was obvious that it was Germans who built and run them. It made Polish people even more sensitive to that topic.

    • @konradszulga706
      @konradszulga706 Год назад

      No worries! We are kind of sensitive because you, Westerners, keep hearing "Nazi" in you media and history classes (an aftermath of a clever German campaign started in 1970s), and nobody asks a question what language they spoke. 99% of the Nazis were Germans and Austrians, 1% their allied countries. To refer it to contemporary times, imagine that in 20 years Russia, in an attempt to whitewash their history, will say that those who invaded Ukraine back in 2022 were "Putinists" nor Russians.... Take care!

    I visited Warsaw in 2019 and yes, it's impressive what they built after WWII, especially when I compare it to Vienna which (by my opinion) looks much worse than today Warsaw even with their much better GDP per capita. What I really liked in night Warsaw were real neons which looks magicaly and you don't see it that often in today cities. For example here in Czechia, cities are plagued by those asian led boards and other advertisements. I don't want to sound racist or something, I like our Vietnamese minority, we need their little food shops, but their sense of design and taste just doesn't belong to historical european cities, their places look like you take airplane with led screens and advertisement and explode it above city. 🙂 In Warsaw, this problem is not that visible (which doesn't mean they don't have such places in Poland, they have), they have mostly real neons and simple advertisements. You can see that led screen mess even in Japan, I don't understand it, on other hand, they were able to create the most elegant shapes like katana sword, but on other hand, their cities look like this now and they take this "mess" to Europe.
    BTW, this advertisement mess is typical even for Ukrainian and Russian cities for some reason and it's even more interesting that in Warsaw, they mostly don't have this mess.

      I was in Vienna 4 years ago and I was delighted. This city is beautiful, I would need at least a month to visit it all 😂 Unfortunately, I was only three days... Warsaw is definitely a different city than Vienna, Warsaw resembles more American cities than European ones. A lot of skyscrapers, another one is being built, and another dozen are planned. There is an old town in Warsaw, but it's not that big. I would compare Vienna more to Krakow, typically European buildings 😊 Even though I love our European architecture and have visited some cities, such as Vienna, Krakow, Gdańsk, Brno, London, Warsaw will always be closest to me and this is my place on earth ❤ What's interesting , such a curiosity, Warsaw in terms of GDP per capita PPP, is richer than Vienna. The value for Warsaw is $53,700 and for Vienna $46,500. Despite 2 times lower earnings, the prices of real estate, services, etc. are doing their job.
      Greetings from Warsaw! 😊

    • @jackalski
      @jackalski Год назад

      Well. No. Parts of the city, like Old Town, New Town were reconstructed (from the rubble but according to old schemas), some parts were rebuild but with new twist (eg. Śródmieście Południowe) parts were demolished and build anew (like Muranów, parts of Śródmieście Północne). Calling Warsaw 'Paris of the north' is grandiose and sadly not true. Some parts of the city that were not reconstructed, were not reconstructed for a reason - they were poor neighbourhoods for underprivilidged. Some parts are still waiting to be rebuilt, and in my opinion should have been rebuilt long time ago (like Saxon Palace, Brühl Palace).
      OTOH calling Warsaw ugly is not fair either. It has it's coarse charm, it has it's quirks. There is a lot of nice places, loved by locals, but often they are hidden from the prying eyes of the visitors.

      @@jackalski I know all of that, but znakomity of warsaw was just built like A New City. I heard The term Paris of the north from several historical programs. I thought it is true. For me Warsaw is overall ugly comparing it to the old one. It is extremely chaotic. You have big open Space in The middle of which stands Stalins' "gift" surrounded by every single type of building. From historical ruins of buildings destroyed by war to modern Skyscrapers with tons of ads on them. You have parts of The getto walls in random places, The pathways are ugly. Destroyed, dark Grey and brown. Overgrown. Not conserved. This is not what I am expecting of a very center of the city. For example Gdańsk is much nicer rebuild. You have almost whole old town in historical order, just few skyscrapers that are not disturbing this historical landscape as in warsaw, and you have more modern parts of The City like Wrzeszcz, Morena or Przymorze. Gdańsk was also destroyed by 97% during The war. I know it is much smaller city, but There is no chaos such as in Warsaw is.
