The people saying that clearly don't know anything about drums. Even if the audio wasn't yours, you can still tell by what you are hitting that you sync up with the audio.

:) replace? no :P enhance? you can bet your sticks on it! :P No 2 renditions are ever the same. The more you play an iconic song such as this one the more subtle shades you uncover, so it always gets better. And given how much this song means to you, it's especially true for it. :D
