Christ, as a rural FM resident who frequently just has to figure shit out on the fly, this content is amazing. I tried to get an RT at our rural hospital to explain vent settings once, and their reply about how to avoid barotrauma was essentially "oh we havent been worrying about that since the 90s". Like, thanks, I know you KNOW how to do it, but when its 3am and you arent here but I am, I sure would like to know.
you always have a keen sense of what residents/interns/medical students need to know! better than online med ed and boards and beyond bar none!!
Thank you so much!! Really appreciate it 😄
Conan, we are really appreciated for your amazing videos, please keep on that, cuz all residents have been watching you in our program
Thank you!!! Really appreciate it :D
P:F ratio also called carico index.
As a respiratory therapist it's always interesting listening to other medical professionals talk about vents. I wish more/all docs knew and understood at least the basics of ventilator mechanics. So thanks 💜💜
Except, nursing drawing ABGs? 😞
Outstanding teacher
As an upcoming RT grad May 24; I'm thankful for this short but sweet informative video.
Thank you Sir
wow thank you so much! trying to pass my CCRN and this was way more helpful than anything else ive read or saw. TO THE POINT LOVE IT
Great video, thank you
Fantastic! Trully High-Yield!
As a future RT I appreciate this video
Would’ve been nice if he even mentioned us RT’s (like he did nurses). The disrespect is common.
you explain everything so well! happy to find your channel!
Thank you!
Thank You so much ❤god bless you
Very beneficial information, thank you for posting. I'm an NP studying for my acute care NP certification. I have watched several of your videos today.
Lovely, sir, thank you 🫡

I've never remembered the difference between hypoxia and hypoxemia and Ive decided I never will.
😂 yeah I’m not sure how important it is but pulm crit attendings love to harp on it so much haha
-oxemia.. in the blood.. -Oxia everywhere else I.e. tissues
oh btw, i just looked it up and RSBI is actually TV/RR.
Can you link that? I’m pretty sure it’s RR/TV!
@@ConanLiuMD You are correct RSBI = f/Vt or RR/TV
Don't agree with the need for daily chest rays.
Agreed - it was kind of what was just done at our institution, but after I posted a text version of this guide several people also pointed this out as being unnecessary!
As a retired Respiratory Therapist, would’ve been nice if you mentioned us (like you did nurses). We’re used to being ignored/disrespected.
